Is King's Island Essential?
Ape replied to sirspud's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'd rather take a visit to Kings Island than I would Carowinds. Carowinds just is not that good of a park to me. -

I have hit a dry spell recently and been stuck just below $200. I have a feeling a couple of friends will be kicking some money to me close to the deadline. This year especially since we found out Courtney is pregnant again has been incredibly busy. I have not been able to do as well as i did for the Banshee event last year. I raised most of the money through running a split the pot weekly for several months. I started a new job right when I had signed up and haven't been able to but i hope to get the split the pot going again next year. -

June 9th is a tuesday you should be fine. at rope drop go to Firehawk and Flight of Fear. get those out of the way first. Invertigo is a crap shoot on the line length. Skyline is food you should try if you have never been to the Cincy area, all of the other food is pretty run of the mill amusement park food. If you start with the two i mentioned on a tuesday it should be very easy to get all of the rides in and probably re rides on Banshee. as for seating this is typically how i choose. Banshee: Front Diamondback - back Beast- front seat or a non wheel seat Vortex- 5-1 Invertigo - one of the ends. The rest doesnt really seem to matter where you sit. -
What's your favorite Flat ride?
Ape replied to FlyingScooter's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
For me its that small awkward lap bar that makes it feel like you're barely being held into the ride. I am also not a huge fan of the Giant Frisbees i think they are fun but not to the level of this where i am looking straight down half of the time with hardly anything holding me. -

We got Fast Lane plus the last Saturday of May last season. Most lines were over an hour for the normal queue. We pretty much walked on everything except MF because the FL merges where the ramp starts. some people have complained about waiting a long time in mavericks FL but when we went we were able to walk on three times in a row with the normal line being well over an hour. -

I fit on Volcano fine as the belts are in the front, not the side like Wicked Twister. I also fit fine on the drop tower at KD but not KI because of the pads that they put on the top of the restraints. No problem for me on MF or TTD. Thank you very much sir. -

I love Wicked Twister. The back seat on that thing is very fun. -

When i visited Cedar Point last season i was 260 at 5'11 and a 40 inch waist. I fit on everything except Wicked Twister. Wicked Twister and Drop Tower at Kings Island were the only rides i did not fit. I visited four different parks. Ditto. I think Wicked Twister is the least forgiving roller coaster there. I was the same dimensions as above when I went in 2013 and fit on everything comfortably except Wicked Twister. It wasn't even close - I pulled down the restraint and basically was like "Yea, looks like this'll be a big bag of nope for me". Have you been to Kings Dominion? I am worried about Volcano since i did not fit on Wicked Twister or Kings Islands Drop Tower last season. -

Excellent work. I am glad to see another person join in at Kings Dominion. I would be all over these match offers but money is going to be very tight until this month is over with some bills for the new baby we have to pay and car taxes (yuck). You are all very generous and next year hopefully i'll be able to throw more at people. -
CP or Bust: Trip Planning Advice Needed
Ape replied to boldikus's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
We got on blue streak once years ago a little after it had rained. I thought we were going to die. I didn't feel any breaks pick up until the end. On the turnaround before heading back the thing felt like it was going to go flying off of the track. It gave me a new appreciation for the ride. -

Excellent. I look forward to riding this now. Mantis was dead to my wife and I to where we had said we wouldn't ride it anymore. -

Yeah don't skip anything and make up your own opinion on it. Power Tower's shot side is a lot of fun. -
