Coasting for Kids 2019--Be Part of Team TPR!
Ape replied to PhantomNick's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
We will be there then for sure. It says our Dominator time is from 9-10, the park doesn't open until 10:30. Do you think we will be able to head back to Volcano to line up ahead of time with that half hour between or do you think we will have to get lined up for the running of the bulls like everyone else? -

To put this simply i need more trip report! This park is so awesome it doesn't matter how many times i have been there i love reading about the first time visits people have. I have only got Fast Lane once at any park and it was CP on a Saturday last season. We had one day and it made the day so relaxing and fun. -

I already said I haven't been on or by one and asked your thoughts on this earlier in the thread. I guess it's not a fair assumption that some sort of extra safety will be implemented after this? I don't believe they look dangerous or sound dangerous especially after reading about them, but I also don't think it's crazy that they would come up with something extra to attempt to completely eliminate this possibility in the future to cover their own ass.

Most Memorable Roller Coaster Ride?
Ape replied to sfmmrules!'s topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I've got three that always stand out. The first time on Millenium Force in 2003. The first time I was tall enough to ride Vortex. It was like a right of passage. That extremely terrifying (I was a kid) first Beast night ride. -
It doesn't but I have a feeling from now on it will be required for this type of attraction to continue. I just hope they don't find anyone else besides the lady responsible for the accident because those fail safes were not in place. The story seems to paint a pretty clear picture on her death being caused by her not following the procedure for the attraction.

Ah that sucks I hope you get a ride in tomorrow. We will also be starting at the Best Western. -
Just like in sports or really anything, hesitation will cause more mistakes than anything you have to commit and be confident. I feel bad for the woman and her family but I'm in the camp of this was an unfortunate accident caused by user error. I've never even seen one of these. Robb, could they put some kind of netting or bags to the sides of the tower to prevent that scenario?

Are you only there for today? I've never been there. And this is one one chance for at least a couple of years. -

i was in the middle of posting that picture when you put that up lol. -
Okay where do i start, I saw this thread for the first time ten days or so ago when someone posted in it. I decided to use down time to read through it for whatever reason and read it like a book. Each chapter something new and exciting with highs and lows. Reading about all of your experiences and travels are awesome and i feel like i still want more. the heartbreak that came from your dads passing (sorry to hear about that i know its 5 years later but still i'm sorry to hear about it it's always tough to lose a loved one) and the Megan issue (what a terrible thing to do) to now you seem to have everything on track with your girlfriend and i saw on Facebook completing 5 goals you had with your mother (which is awesome). Some major highlights of this whole thread. The ducky games , man am i sad i missed out on that. I played along even though i was years behind (sucked horribly at it too) The stop at Kuma's Corner, being a metal head i really hope to make it there some day soon. You have made me want to save up and go on one of these Scandinavian tours, those places look great. I've never met you obviously, or even talked to you but your humor and outlook on life as i see through your postings here are that of a great person. One day maybe we will happen to be at the same park and i could share a ride with you on a coaster. At the end of this thread it almost felt like an incomplete book though and I hope to see you get back into it at some point. I promise if you start doing these again i will be there to be a super valuable big mike road show reader. I wish you nothing but the best in your future endeavors and hope you have a great time along the way. Thank you for the entertainment you brought me in the last ten days and the entertainment you brought others on here for years!

Is King's Island Essential?

To each his own as i found carowinds to be fairly boring. I want to make it back for Fury but it's not something that has me jumping out of my seat to go ride right away. I think I truly like one coaster at Carowinds and that was Afterburn. I like Banshee better than Afterburn. -
