Going Empty...
Brassinthegrass replied to Rocket Rodder's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I like the sound. as long as I am not standing in line and its broken down... its like a real life No Limits moment! -
Seriously. How is this done? I have a feeling that it is a mirror door that part of the door is covered up by the wall... then when the frame gets bigger to the full door size it opens up into the next room. The part that throws me is the cut in the mirror to have two doors is not noticeable at all... Curse you Disney for doing these crazy things and not telling us how!!!!

I'm not sure how I feel... Six Flags Great Adventure's Theme is strange on the West side of the park (Nitro, Batman, Ferris wheel) but on the east side you have some great themes! The western area has always looked nice (most likely because it was well done from the start) and the two new sections (Kingda Ka and El Toro) have a nice simple theme, but still transports you to a different place. In my opinion probably the best looking themed sections in the modern history of the six flags properties! With that said, I'm not sure the themed sections in other areas of six flags properties are well done... Perfect example is SFA, other than the front entrance, the rest of the park feels like a dumping ground of coasters from other parks, with no real flow at all...

There is something about the top of B&M hills, when the anti-roll back gets a skip in its step and you know your about to start the fun! -
I agree, Golden Kingdom would be the best place for the Safari ride through entrance... we do see animals in the area already, I could see the signs, "Want to see more animals close up, come take a ride through the Safari!" Plus looking at the map, the back of the Kingda Ka Tower is the last turn before the exit for the drive through, it would cost minimal reconstruction to move the roadways.... My only concern is that we have not seen any work being done already... could we see the expedition vehicles leave from the VIP entrance that used to be under the first loop of GASM? I personally would hate that, totally ruins the "expedition" feel if your driving through the parking lot in a truck looking for your car....

I think the damage to cars is where this is all coming from. The days of people all driving Big SUVs or Jeep Wagoneers are over. I don't want to take my BMW or MINI cooper into a place that I know it will most likely be damaged! I'm sure if there was any damage to cars, the park is sick of having to pay for the repairs... Is there any clause that you have to sign before driving through?

I agree, if anything it would be a way to get people to head over to the back of the Kingda Ka Tower for the Drop Tower installation... we could add a few flats on the way and then open up the Wild Safari area right behind Bizzaro and Kingda Ka for expansion.... I love Bizzaro, its my first ride every time I go to the park cause you can usually get 4 or 5 rides in without getting back in line! Plus it was my first big ride, so it has a special place in my heart!

I dont think it will be themed at all... I think this is a way to get more people to go since people are concerned about their cars... I think the pictures of monkeys on your car from the 90s doesn't exactly send a welcoming idea in the minds of todays BMW and Audi East Coast Drivers (me being one of them). It might also be an insurance move...

Ummm.. Canada's Wonderland did that, and being on both rides this summer when visiting Toronto, I can tell you they do supply 2 very different rides. I do think its odd that they are in the same park, but it does work... -

I find it hard to believe that they would build another wooden coaster in this spot. To take down one wooden structure to put up another just seems like a waste of construction costs. If they were to rebuild another one, I think they would try to use at least some of the wooden structure of SOB. Thats not to say that they still might do this.. We will just have to wait to see what happens with deconstruction! -
First post! Im concerned we are all forget the problems that Kingda Ka had in the beginning. They had to close half the queue because of "Intamin Cable" issues. Why would they now allow the GP paths go right over to that section? Also, I find it hard to believe that we would see it on the back of the tower, there would be no view of the park from there to give you an idea on scale of how high you are going! Now, if they did put it facing the park on the inside of the towers triangle, I think that could be cool!
