I think its been a great match! To see a revitalization like this to something so historic is nice. They kept the old school feel with the original theming, but added more modern rides. I look forward to seeing how they handle the space over time. I think trading out older rides for newer innovations is perfect, and definitely a way to keep NYers coming. I do hope for something in place of the observation tower... a nice drop tower would be great and definitely add to the skyline!

I apologize If I missed this earlier, but... Have we seen anything about a lighting package for the ride yet? I'm sure we will see some night time fog machines in the area (especially with the Bat as well) but I wonder what we will be able to see at night! I hope we have some interesting lift lighting like Goliath at SFMM! -

Merry Christmas, here, have a pretzel... Can not wait to see what this Zero G Drop and Pretzel look like from the ground. Great use of Terrain B&M, finally taking advantage of good topography! -

Not entirely true.. the bottom of the first drop is at the top of the hill... standard landscaping skills will allow for a slanted hill that will allow the water the naturally run off... I don't think we will see concrete... if we were going to, we would have already seen it... -
I don't 'get' TTD or Kingda Ka

I very music enjoy Kingda Ka, but I feel we are forgetting to include the whole experience. Yes, the speed is short, but when you put in place the long wait... the anticipation... the fear of the road ahead... and then the release of the breaks to let you move at an incredible speed... that adds soooo much to the ride! sometimes a great ride, can be more than the thrills while moving, but the build up to it! -
Id rather see a Gravity Group ride go from next to the Ferris Wheel over to the water tower along the parking lot and back. I feel like that side of the park could use something, and a slightly less insane ride would fit quite nicely into the family atmosphere of the section... plus imagine what the parking lot view would look like now!!

Hey, Has anyone seen any construction going on with the Tower of Kingda Ka? I know its hard to see since the park is closed, but maybe something from the Parking lot by the Pond? Im too far away to drive down just to look, but would love to know if anything is going on! (where's Flyin Phil when you need him!)

Don't count it totally out... Cedar Fair seems to be pushing the "old traditions" lately, with opening up the Beach Front at CP to the Singing 'Shrooms at KD... Bringing back the sign to bring back the name seems like a swell idea! -

they might not be going for efficiency, but for the view aspect... going up a straight vertical lift, you don't really get to enjoy the surrounding views.. this way, you can... think about the Intamin Gyro Drop style... you get to enjoy the view all around before plummeting back down... I am intrigued by the rest of the ride though, not sure how much you can do with the limited size, without using breaks every 150ft or so... -

that is possible, but I feel like we saw the lack of concrete being pored. That onto of a small cold snap may have slowed construction until the cement could cure. the Zerro G is up (and shows how much farther down the hill this thing goes that I realized! Hope to get to Ohio to ride it soon -
Not too concerned about them getting it up and working... Yes, S&S has had some bad karma with getting new designs up and running, but those were rides that reinvented the industry. the 4D was a challenge wight he weight of the trains, the XLC was using air (which was never done before). This does not look to be too difficult to get going... ...then again, it could be plagued for a long time... Im hoping for a POV, as I can not truly understand the layout of these things just yet...

I kind of like it... remember there is another loop on the course, so to have a "loop" and a normal loop is kind of a nice feature and lets it not feel redundant. I do hope that it rides a little different, at least enough to make it feel good -
Honestly, I think that watching the finale from a walkway will look like fun (just like it looked from the Rolling Thunder Station). When your actually on it you realize how fast it really hauls through that section. I do hope we can walk under El Toro where RT once flew under... would make a nice cut through and fix the lack of access to Kingda Ka...

B&M roller coaster do seem to go up quite quickly as long as the cement is cured. -

I love how nerdy we can be. Its a lift hill... its not even 4 pieces of a lift hill and we are already stumbling all over each other to get on the queue line. Love it. I wanna go first! -
They commented in the press release that you would be walking past animals on your way to the new ride. There is no reason why we wouldn't see them build a medium thrilling wooden coaster in the near future. It may not take the exact same location as rolling thunder, but more likely take the space behind the tower of Kingda Ka that is now unused as the safari is entered from a different location. this also opens up that location of the park for further expansion. Personally, I would rather see something added to the other side of the park... right now it only has Batman and Nitro to really pull guests to that side, the dark night and skull mountain and just added rides that you wouldn't walk over to directly. I commented weeks ago about how an X-Flight clone would fit into the old chiller space quite nicely... though it would be nice to see them add a wooden out and back along the parking lot on that side of the park, maybe do the turn around the water tower and come back... would make the parking lot view even better than it already is!!!

I think were all forgetting to realize the amount of space of the just opened up with removing rolling thunder. It appears to be almost the size of Superman and Green Lantern combined. I hope that they find a way to have the general public path go between the entrance to kingda ka and underneath El Toro to meet up for the entrance to the new ride. This would allow us to have a lot more space near the twisting section of El Toro for a new roller coaster, as well as open up the space behind the tower, that is currently the old entrance to the Safari, for even more expansion in future years. In the eyes of general management, this is genius...
