My early speculation leads me into different directions. What is that they need a medium sized wooden roller coaster to bridge the gap between their world renowned intense roller coasters, and their families/kid coasters. The other in my spectrum things that they need something that is unique and one-of-a-kind, all of their rides right now are rather traditional, and th park lacks a one of a kind ride that really stands out as something special...

I disagree, if they redesign the entrance of the park, and create it as the entrance structure (gatekeeper style) and the train is traveling high enough up that no one can throw something at it, and then do a tunnel to return, it could work... I do agree that NJ is a bit nuts about the saftey issue, but with the unfortunate clientele that SFGAdv seems to attract, it's definitly trying to do the right thing and keep everyone safe....

It is possible they were only doing that because it was the opening weekend, and they were more concerned about getting people through the turn styles in an orderly fashion than allowing for people to decide... I'm sure it will change over the next few weeks -

That and Dorney Park is screaming early 90s. I do love the use of roller coasters in the new entrances... Looking at the other parks, I get giddy with excitement thinking about what could be in store for the other parks... Has anyone gotten any good nighttime cottage nofnthentunnel yet? There is nothing on YouTube and I'm dieing to see those lights in action, that's not on the webcam! -

It clicked in my head today...Holiday World (if I am not mistaken) is the only park in the world with free parking and a B&M. It's not a major thing, but it is cool to see a "local" park (per say) that has such a level of coasters at their park!!! -
Let's hope this is a turnaround for great adventure, hopefully Six Flags has been looking at what Cedar Fair has been doing over the past few years. Take Carowinds for example... A few years ago most enthusiasts outside of the south east were not even looking at the park, now we're all making plans to go there because of great new rides like fury and intimidator as well as a new entrance to really spruce things up! Maybe Six Flags Great Adventure is planning something along the same lines, in their own way. I do agree that Six Flags Great Adventure has been declining over the past few seasons, and a few million dollars throwing towards re-imagining the resort aspect could lead to a major increase in attendance! Let's be honest, major attractions that they've been adding in the past decade or two have been great for the park, but creating a world-class atmosphere that goes along with the world-class rides would make it top-notch once again!

Good point! It would also make sense for time constraint, now that I'm thinking more about it. Once they want to get started, they can work on prep work, instead of demolition... And with a short building season, it makes senses, especially if they are planning on reroutingnthe road in the off season next winter! -

Well that looks... Dirty... I don't want to speculate too much, I do find it interesting that they took down the building so early... Was there a reason why they took it down other than future attractions (possibly damage of some sort)? Just seems odd, it sitting there dormant does nothing to the visitors eye, but now everyone is going to be wondering about it all season! -

I almost wish they did it on the outside of the beams, so the rest of the underside of the bridge was green and the actual tunnel appeared dark. I love the pulsating green and white. This thing is going to be extremely photogenic!! -

True, but the state line is that center white line on the walkway directly in front of the gate, so everything east of that is in SC!
