  1. Some of my favorites: The Voyage Shockwave Boardwalk Bullet Tatsu (Mayan) Mindbender XLR-8 Phoenix Titan Serial Thriller The Rattler/ Iron Rattler Iron Shark Sheikra Manta Steel Eel Great White Great Bear Expedition Everest
  2. ^^ I'm with you 100% The view from the top of the lift hill and the tunnel made it worth it for me, too.
  3. SFOT and SFFT fly six flags out front. I never thought that other parks would do it too, since they are the six flags to fly over Texas.
  4. I actually like the layout of the queue, but when it's a busy day it's definitely a pain to wait. I don't think that they're changing the queue building at all for iRat, but I did notice that they built some little awnings/covered areas over the part of the queue that is on the ground.
  5. I waited 2 hours to ride The Rattler at SFFT once. By the time I got to the top level of the queue building, I was so dehydrated and over heated that I passed out. My boyfriend at the time got my up, and told me that we could walk through to the other side but I told him that he must be crazy. No way I was waiting 2 hours without even riding the coaster! So, I sucked it up and rode the damn thing. Probably not one of my best ideas, lol.
  6. Here are some of my favorite places near SFFT. Magnolia Pancake Haus(Breakfast) 10333 Huebner Road San Antonio, Texas 78240 Magnolia is my absolute favorite place to get breakfast in San Antonio. If it's a weekend, I wouldn't even try to eat there unless you are prepared to wait an hour+. Weekday mornings between 8-11 are a good time to go, but still expect the wait to be 15-30 minutes. The food is all super fresh and they use really high quality ingredients. Everything I've had here is to die for! It's about a 10 minute drive from SFFT. Take I-10 to the Huebner Road exit and take a right at the light. Go down about a mile and it will be on your right. Chacho's(Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner) 7870 Callaghan Road at I-10, San Antonio Texas 78229 Chacho's is a great no-frills place for fast, cheap and tasty Tex-Mex. They're open 24 hours and they have a 2 lane drive-thru. For breakfast, they have great breakfast tacos. I recommend the Taco Loco (eggs, chorizo, cheese and refried beans). You can get a plate of nachos here that will feed 6-8 people easily, for under $20. If you're on a budget and feel like gorging yourself, it's definitely a good place for you, lol. It's about a 15 minute drive from SFFT. Take I-10 to the Callaghan Road exit and take a right on Callaghan. Chacho's is on the left. Chester's Hamburgers(Lunch/Dinner) 9980 W Interstate 10 San Antonio, TX Plain and simple: Chester's has great burgers and a pretty large selection of beer. The chili cheeseburger is delicious (and messy), and their milkshakes are good, too. About 10 minutes from SFFT. Just take I-10 to the Frontage Road exit (#560 I think) and stay on the service road. Chester's is down about a mile and on the right.
  7. Looks like you guys are having a blast! The bootleg character actors gave me a good laugh. Poor KidTums looks so scared of Donald.
  8. I'm going to go with Iron Rattler simply because I have been waiting for years to ride it. I've been not-so-patiently waiting for this coaster since before NTAG was finished. Rattler was my first "big kid" coaster and I've always loved it, even when it got so horribly rough the past few years. I am so beyond excited to ride it!
  9. I went to the park yesterday, and they had two cars sitting on the track outside of the station. They look BEAUTIFUL in person. The snake head on the front is super impressive. Can't wait to see the whole train!
  10. Mine was Superman: Krypton Coaster at SFFT. A good start to the season, I think!
  11. I was at the park almost every day last summer, and that was before Iron Rattler. I'm pretty sure I should just live there this summer.
  12. Went to the park yesterday and took wayyyy too many pictures of iRat. I tried to get some shots from angles that we haven't seen posted before. I apologize for the quality of some of these, but it's hard to take good shots from the moving train. Hope you enjoy! Sexy, sexy barrel roll. I can't wait to be hauling ass down this thing. Lots and lots of trees.... luckily the bright orange track is pretty hard to miss. Looking up the lift hill. Hey look! A tunnel! This is the best shot I could get of the track coming out of the tunnel. Another angle of the barrel roll. It looks so majestic. Brb, I need to pick my jaw up from the floor. I love how this thing interacts with the quarry wall. And now for some close-up porn Just look at those sexy bolts. I can't get over how vibrant the track is. It makes my pants happy.
  13. This article got posted on the SFFT Facebook page! http://www.mysanantonio.com/entertainment/article/Rattling-and-rolling-in-2013-4314410.php I'm excited about the shows and the new pretzel place! Also, I had suspected that Bloomstead's was going to be used for iRat souvenirs since they were clearing it out last season. What do you guys think about the new stuff for this season?
  14. Welllllll, that's amazing. Thanks for the laugh. On a side note, who all is planning to be at the park opening weekend? I'm heading down on Sunday.
  15. I'm pretty sure that mine was Runaway Mine Train at SFOT and I know for sure that my second was Roadrunner Express at SFFT.
  16. Anybody have any updates on TSS construction? I'll be at the park next week for the Travel Channel filming, so I'll try to see if I can get any good pictures. Just wanted to know if any locals had seen or heard anything yet.
  17. Good lord, those trains looks fantastic. Not only is the design great, but they look so freakin' comfortable!
  18. Woo! Just got the call to be apart of filming. I'm 98% sure that I'm doing all three days. Looking forward to meeting some of you guys.
  19. Just got a reply to my email and I just wanted to tell everyone that they are still looking for more people and especially women. There have to be some awesome ladies that can make it!
  20. I still haven't heard anything back but I'm hoping that I do soon. Anybody else hear back yet?
  21. I was checking out the SFFT Facebook page to watch that new video and saw that they posted yesterday about Six Flags Memberships. Is anyone else planning on getting a Membership instead of a Season Pass? I think I'm going to opt for the gold option.
  22. Mine is definitely Shockwave at SFOT. Gotta love those loops.
  23. I just sent in my email. I'm really hoping they pick me and that my pink hair won't be an issue, lol.
  24. All of the shows are short. The longest ones are about 35 minutes. My favorite show is Rockin at Rockville High. It's been running since the opening season and is almost always great. I used to go see it 3-4 times a week when I lived closer to SFFT. Aside from that, the show that they have in the Zaragosa Theatre is usually pretty good, plus the theatre itself is a really neat venue. Plus, the air conditioning is a blessing during summer time.
  25. Sorry to derail things from iRat, but have any of you heard anything about the shows for the upcoming season? Rockin' at Rockville High is a given, but I'm thinking that we'll probably get a new show in the Zaragosa theatre this year, since they seem to rotate them out every couple of years or so. I know that everyone likes to focus on the thrill aspects of the park, but I genuinely enjoy the shows at SFFT and they are a big part of why I visit so often.
