I'm guess no coaster planned for 2013. I just can't see them announcing a coast for 2013 this late in the game. Designing the new area to have temporary flat rides and a new area makes sense. They can plan what to do with the new space and mark it out for a new coaster for 2014 as they are building it.

It's a news and rumor site. He's not posting these as anything official. Lance is only posting them as things people have been hearing and whispering about. Rumors are just as often false as they are true. The only reason screamscape would lose credibility would be if they posted something as a news story that was false, or if they miss-quoted a source. If anything, you are just learning not to take rumors quite so seriously. Understood. Here's my take. What we have in SoCal is Disneyland for family entertainment and Magic Mountain for roller coaster thrills. Knott's is a spill over from Disneyland...But they are looking for their own voice. It's a small space and from what I understand Cedar fair bought them with conductions. So the ghost town area is off limits to build onto. They now have new park management I understand. Their main focus is on fixing the park up and the employees first. Forget all the roller coaster rumors..as they are just rumors. They seem to be building a new theme area and temporarily placing flat rides in. This is a rumor. I run to X-2 in the morning. Then I go to Tatsu. Later in the day I check the lines for Tatsu for a second ride. Then I'll go on Viper. From Vipers hill I take a look at the line for X-2. If it's not too long and they are running two trains, then yes you can get in at 30 to 60 mins. Right I do that as well but Im talking about later in the day when it will often drop down to 10-15 minutes at about 4:30pm. Last time I was there a lady passed out on the ride at about 4:00 and they shut it down for testing so I didn't get to see this first hand. I'll make it a habit to check at 4:30 from now on.

If they were going to scrape it. They wouldn't have taken it apart in sections. I could be wrong.

Anyone have a guess as to what park will be getting this? I don't miss it as the lines to ride that were an hour or more some times. I'd much rather see a new themed area with some flat rides or something.

I like to look at the queue line as the ride is coming to the station. If I see some empty rolls. I just get off batman and head for that empty roll and grab some CHEAP SEATS.

It doesn't matter if the man was at fault or not. The general public will view this as an accident at an amusement park...Which is never good P.R. for an amusement park.

It's very underrated. But a great fun ride.

I've ridden Knott's berry farms roller coasters this month. I like xcelerator and silver bullet. But I've also been to Magic Mountain this month and superman, Green lantern, scream, tatsu and X2 are all great with their own unique charm. I'd say my favorite this month is an underdog. Knott's berry farms...Montezuma revenge. The reason is I've learn to look to the side as roller coasters are moving for some extra dizziness And going through the loop forwards and backwards while looking to my side is just fun.

Lance is usually pretty accurate with his major park rumors, so I wouldn't go discrediting him so quickly. As I have said before, he reports nearly everything that is e-mailed to him. Sometimes the people are really in the know, other times they are just making sh*t up. The fact the "rumors" keep changing so rapidly should tell you he really doesn't know what to believe either. it doesn't mean people have to bash him for it either. It's a rumor site. I always take what's posted with a rather large grain of salt. I'm not bashing him. I like the site. but it's just the rumors that are unreliable. He runs a great site as we all follow it. On to different news.

I have no problem trusting what I ask employees. If I ask enough of them...I'll have a good idea. I'm just not going to post here about it anymore. Until I'm sure enough that it's worth posting. I'll no longer read sceamscape for information on this subject as there seems to be no fact checking.

I totally agree with you it's just the rumors are changing so often and I really do not see that happening much at any other park I am following rumors for. If I was to report That I heard from an employee that they decided to go with a Giga coaster and all the employees are excited...Would that get reported as a rumor at screamscape?

I agree. They have their Halloween haunt. So they don't need the usual announce a major ride for next year at the end of summer campaign.
