Today's Burning Question - Loops or Hills?
rcjp replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
That does depend on the hills, obviously. If they are B&M floater hills, I would say loops, if they are intamin crazy ejector hills I'll have to go with those. Overall, I'd say hills. -

I'd like to see what anything is like on a dive machine. The only inversion B&M has used so far on those is the Immelmann. Me too. I believe the reason why they don't have many elements is the fact that B&M, in order to prevent high laterals, won't build a diving machine with lots of twists and so they stick to the immelmann which provides a slow transition from upside down to upright. That's why I doubt we will see one featuring a cobra roll (which probably also applies to wing coasters). Still, maybe we could see things like vertical loops, dive loops, these new big floaty corkscrews or maybe something like an inline roll. -
Saw escape plan yesterday. Pretty much what I expected: not a great movie but very entertaining, a nice way to spend an afternoon.

Granted, it would be the park's new coaster instead of Goliath. I wish I could skip to the next summer and had enough money to go on a coaster tour. -
I looked it up and didn't find any topic for this and thought it would be funny. So, what's your favorite Vekoma? Mine is Stunt Fall at Parque Warner Madrid (the only giant inverted boomerang I've been on)

I'm guessing this could be the world's tallest dive loop, right? -

Every single B&M that I've ridden apart from Mantis and Green Lantern closer to the back (and maybe raptor's cobra roll due to the slight snap). At least when I rode them I got absolutely no headbanging and I've ridden the ones at Cedar Point, Hershey, Dorney, Six Flags Great Adventure, Parque Warner Madrid and Portaventura.

^Nice pic. I know what you mean but then If they wanted to improve them they should be leaning towards lapbars instead of these vest-style ones that, despite being conformable, just glue you to your seat rather than giving more freedom to move. And it's not that it would be very difficult to move to lapbars from these new ones. They just have to move the bars more to the side and remove the vests, right? -
^That's right. I checked B&M's site before I named the topic. I just didn't want to write "Best B&M sitting (with floor) coaster with inversions?" And I thought that by saying B&M sitting coaster or even just sitting coaster people would get the idea.

I never had any problems with the old restraints too, in fact I've never experienced a single bit of headbanging in any B&M invert (I've been on Batman the ride at SFGAdv and Parque Warner Madrid, Talon, Great Bear an Raptor). And those old restrains allow your body to move around more so I prefer them over the vest style ones 'cause when I rode gatekeeper I couldn't feel any aritime in the hills like I do with the older ones or in B&M's hpers (even though I know there is some floater there). Probably B&M considers these restraints more "family friendly" and more appealing to a wider public. But I just love everything about their older inverts. -

I actually had thought of that. Given that these restraints eliminate headbanging I would like to see B&M doing some old school snappy corkscrews again. But, like you said, it's not very likely. -

In a certain way I kind of wish there was, but I highly doubt that. The train will probably go through that bit relatively slowly and sometimes the angle of the picture can be deceiving and lead us to believe that the track is shaped slightly different than it really is. (I've noticed this many times on dive and immelmann loops) I don't think we will be seeing snaps like in raptor's cobra roll anymore from B&M.
