  1. ^ Actually, while it doesn't pack the punch that Batman---The Ride does, I find that Silver Bullet does indeed have a couple of spots where some strong forces are definitely there. True, the first drop is rather wimpy, but on every ride I've taken, I get some airtime on the overbanked turn after the first loop as well as on the "S" turn between the two corkscrews. And, of course, that final helix gives some good forces in my opinion, though certainly nothing like the helix on Goliath at SFMM. Eric
  2. ^ Not to worry---there's one of those cartoon things where you were supposed to stand! Eric
  3. I'm looking forward to seeing the group photo shot before the Q&A session...unless it's already up and I missed it. Eric
  4. September by Earth, Wind & Fire. KRTH has been playing that a lot lately. Eric
  5. ^ Imagine a herd of pin traders on that trip! Eric
  6. "Mark Shapiro also famously said Metro was returning as a Thomas attraction, only to now have SFMM management saying at the Q&A that the ride is dead." (Jew) With regard to removing the Metro track, I've heard that Tim "had a few ideas" as to how to use it. If the track is structurally sound, why not put something like IOA's Seuss Trolley on it? It won't be a monorail, but it could be marketed as a new attraction. Even something along the lines of Disneyland's Rocket Rods could work, though, I doubt that, too. To be honest, I think we'll see the track removed at some point---but probably not soon because removal of the track is quite an expense and one that I don't believe corporate feels is necessary at this time. Eric
  7. I think management is tired of hearing about the poor theming at Scream! Quite honestly, even I'm tired of hearing about the dreaded "parking lot coaster." They already know about that, and they'll address it at some point. To me, Scream! is a lot of fun and I couldn't care less about the ground below it. There are still much more important issues to resolve. Eric
  8. Closing my eyes in the pretzel loop helps to take some of the discomfort out of it; the same thing works during the Helix of Death on Goliath. Of course, closing my eyes at certain times also keeps Jet Stream water out of my face while riding Ninja! Eric
  9. I think the tailcam is a great idea, and I'm surprised that other airlines haven't done anything like that yet. A "pilotcam" would be a great thing as well, allowing passengers to see what the pilot sees. Eric
  10. Is it me or are those rails awfully small? I've never noticed that before. Maybe I'm just used to the heavy duty B&M ones. Eric
  11. ^ Very true, and, honestly, I'd like to see something besides a coaster. There are too many other things that can entertain guests at a theme park besides a coaster. Eric
  12. ^ The pretzel loop isn't too bad in front. In the back, however, yeah---only one ride. But Tatsu is the only flyer of any kind I've ridden, so maybe that doesn't hold true for the others. Eric
  13. "I actually was able to earn that one while it was still at SFGam. I got that one as well as the one at SFoG in 2006." (Erik Johnson) Yeah, I figured that, but you have to get the credit as Aftershock! Looks like y'all had a blast at the DLR. It's been six months since I was there. I'd like to see how Disney's Construction Adventure is coming along. Eric
  14. "Regarding the 2010 coaster...either the dark knight mouse or the Tony Hawk spinner." (Jew) The Dark Knight coaster was already rejected by SFMM for this year, but of course that doesn't mean it can't show up next year. To be honest, I don't think a Tony Hawk ride would be a bad choice. I have not ridden one, but it's certainly a family friendly kind of ride from what I've seen. Jay Thomas himself told me that 2011 will bring a major attraction to all Six Flags parks in honor of the company's 50th anniversary. At the time, he didn't say "coaster," but we've seen a rumor or two about that. And it wouldn't be out of the question because it would be SFMM Coaster #18, fulfulling the promise made to retake the title for number of coasters. Eric
  15. ^ Don't forget, you have to ride Aftershock at Silverwood, too! Eric
  16. ^^^ I saw that on Failblog (I'm an avid reader) and laughed for...well, a long time. Eric
  17. ^ Wants to be lunch. < Wants to eat lunch. V Wants to eat insects!
  18. Because the more times they post, the more chocolate they get to eat! What does the "i" stand for in "iPhone," "iPod," etc.?
  19. I see it all the time---and I ignore it! Is your monitor and computer from the same manufacturer?
  20. I'm so glad they brought Mr. Six back. He just fits in with the Six Flags image---he's FUN! That video was pretty funny! Eric
  21. Somehow, I snuck into the very last picture in the bottom right hand corner (that's me with the blue jacket and prominent bald spot). Sorry I didn't talk to you much, Erik, other than to say hi once. It's my turn to go to Florida, so maybe there. I hope you had a good time at the Bash despite the weather. Eric
  22. "2010: Go after Knotts "other" signature coaster." (Manic Monte) So, what, SFMM will get a record breaking launched motorbike coaster themed with Harleys crusing through the hills? Eric
  23. Looks like you had a great day. I've been to SFMM with crowds like that---makes for a fun time! Eric
  24. I used to be, but I went through a 12-step program. Now I only ride coasters that I want to ride---credits be damned! Have you ever taken Amtrak anywhere?
  25. Of course we do. What's a house without Legos? Do you wear a tie to work?
