  1. Millennium Force at the bottom of the drop and through the overbank turn. I near black out every time. I'm pretty sensitive to G-forces though.
  2. Wait... What...Theming??? I mean... This is Cedar Point we are talking about. Hey, Maverick has decent theming... and so does.... well, Maverick does.
  3. What's up with all of this talk about forcefulness. Why does a coaster need extreme, near-blackout g-forces to be considered good? I guess everyone likes different things, but I just like a good mixture of new elements and air time. Theming is a plus too.
  4. I believe there is a second train. But I don't think it is used very often.
  5. I don't like windseekers either, but honestly I think one would do wonders for attendance. The park has little to no "eye candy" in the ride department outside of coaster views over the lake. You'd be able to see a windseeker towering over everything even before entering the parking lot.
  6. Guess I just never heard about it maybe. You sure it wasn't just a rumor? Not like it matters. Everything about this park is just speculation.
  7. It definitely does feel a lot bigger than it actually is somehow. It's a shame fast lane doesn't work in the water park though. The line for funnel of fear is always so unbearably long whenever I go.
  8. Glad you had a good experience. Did you get a chance to go to the water park? It's top notch for being free.
  9. First coaster to span two parks. Impressive.
  10. I'd hate to see it go, it's about the only cheap relaxing thing to do in the park.
  11. I know what you're talking about. This is why I like to take pretty long breaks between trips. My body just kind of gets used to the sensations and its not as much of a rush anymore. I feel the same way just after an entire day at a park. Once you've ridden the best multiple times, everything else feels sub-par. But hey, sometimes it's nice to be able to relax on a coaster.
  12. Random comment here, but why do parks have such a hard time maintaining their mini golf courses? So far I've been to both Michigan's Adventure and Cedar Point this year and the mini golf courses are in awful condition. Balls get stuck in the chutes, the artificial grass is separating from the ground, barriers are missing, BEES EVERYWHERE (god I hate those things). I love myself some mini golf, but I guess you get what you pay for at $3?
  13. Dive coasters are plenty different from floorless. Saying two coasters are similar just because of the car type is like saying two houses are the same because they have the same number of rooms. Everything Cedar Point does is original, so you can count on the layout being one of a kind.
  14. Did they even do/add anything special for the 50th?
  15. Finally went back to the greatest place on earth for the first time in nearly six years. I guess now I know fast lane is kind of a waste on Thursdays in the middle of June. Mostly everything was a 15-20 minute wait in the regular queue. But hey, I won't complain. We got to walk on to everything (x2 for some) within 6 hours. Sadly rain came along at 5, and was on and off. So we went and did some other fun things. Then a storm rolled in at about 7:30 so we left. Slightly disappointed that everything was shut down for nearly the last 5 hours of the day, but it was still a great time. Hopefully I'll be heading back in August. As for the rides, Magnum seems to be much rougher than I remember, but the seatbelt trick definitely helps the lap bar from destroying your legs. Gatekeeper far exceeded my expectations. Gemini is far smoother than I remember. Mean Streak really just needs to be torn down already, hopefully it only has a couple seasons left before they make room for something better. Maverick, Millennium, and TTD, and Raptor are all masterpieces as usual. And Rougarou is MUCH more rideable than Mantis, I'm very happy with the outcome of that transition.
  16. Well, it's on a track. Idk what other criteria there is to consider something a coaster.
  17. Thought they were only doing one at a time. BRING ON THE ANNOUNCEMENT
  18. I think I've asked an op before, and they said 35+ (or maybe 45) mph at the top of the tower. Which at that height, isn't that uncommon. Most of the "larger" attractions IE: TTD, Raptor, Windseeker and MF will shut down when winds at the top of the ride hit 25 mph. I believe Sky Ride shuts down in 20 mph winds. Interesting. But at those heights, wouldn't those kinds of wind speeds be very common?
  19. First time I went was in 2000. Barely 7 years old. I remember riding the train past the freshly built Millennium Force and looking up at it. I couldn't believe my little eyes. It may have lost a bit of its family charm since the old days, but it has without a doubt grown in to the epicenter of thrill seeking. There aren't many parks with as good of a variety of coasters.
  20. Wish I have been to more than 3 so I could make that call
  21. The forecast says "Chance of a Thunderstorm" all week, not rain. That usually means sunny almost all day with one passing storm during the day, and probably lower crowd levels and shorter lines. Low winds too... looks like great weather to me. I can only hope. But it's looking worse than just one passing mild storm at this point. Then again it's 5 days out. Weather always worries me when I go on trips, it's a disease
