  1. Make sure you're using Windows XP (or earlier) and 8cars version 1.302. If it still doesn't work try either versions 1.31 or 1.21. A download can be found on Page 13 of the RCT2 Help Thread.
  2. ^Thanks for the very kind words. Also thanks A.J. for your input too. My next tutorial will be about rotating Rollercoaster Entrances and Exits.
  3. A.J. says - this is track merging in its simplest form, and it's a great tutorial. Have a look! How to Merge Okay, let's start off with the basics: What is merging? Merging is used to make one track flow into another track. Examples include Giga track into Twister track (for inversions and vertical spikes), Flying into Mulit-dimensional track (for pretzel loops), Vertical track into Twister track (for Immelmanns on Dive Machines) and Giga track into Mini Coaster track (for the bi-rail effect). Learning how to merge isn't that difficult. In theory, it's is simply putting two pieces of each track on top of the opposite track and lowering those pieces down. First, a few ground rules: -Merging does not work on Windows 7 or to my knowledge, Windows Vista (I'm not too sure about Vista). Windows XP is recommended for this tutorial. -You must use 8cars version 1.302 (found at the bottom of this tutorial). Version 1.32 will crash if you try merging. -When you're using Flying coaster track, you must use Mulit-dimensional track and vice versa because it is the only other track type that can face both downwards and upwards. -The merge track must face the same way as the original track. -When you build the above track piece, it must face the same direction and be the same element at the piece below. -You cannot save tracks with merges because the game won't save the merge track. 1) Build your original track. 2) Build the Merge track. 3) Build one piece of the original track, and one piece of the merge track above the opposite track. For a normal coaster track, I suggest 15+ft above and for Inverted track 20+ft. 4) Paint the two track pieces Alternative Colour Scheme 1 5) Alt+Tab out of RCT2 and open 8cars Per Trainer (1.302). Click on Rides > Edit Ride Stats. Find your ride and click Raise/Lower, change the operating mode to Powered Launch or Boat Hire mode (Boat hire allows more than one train, while powered launch limits you to one), Alternative Colour Scheme 1 (or whichever colour scheme you painted it), Height Offset > [measurement in feet divided by five. For example, 20ft = 4], Ok. If you are using powered launch mode, don't forget to change the launch speed to 6. 6) Go back into RCT2 and test/open your ride. It should go round the track and through the elements as normal. 7) Voila, you have a merged ride! If something is wrong, please either PM me or ask about it in this topic and I will do my best to solve the problem. Thank you for reading my tutorial and I hope it helps you understand more about RCT2! A download for 8cars Per Trainer Version 1.302 is here: 8Cars Trainer 1.302.zip
  4. I suggest looking through the Exchange for any useful tools for sorting out your objects.
  5. This is caused by having too many small scenery objects in your objdata folder. How much CS did you actually download? It should take quite a lot of objects before it's full.
  6. This is turning out nice One suggestion is that you could perhaps add a fence around the kids dig site and some benches on the path.
  7. The layout is nice, smooth and flowing. Very good job on that. I hope to see it in the exchange soon
  8. I finally decided to try out No Limits today. I created a neat little launched coaster with an Immelmann, Loop, Cobra Roll, Zero G Roll and Corkscrew: Layout from the left From the Front Who knows, perhaps we'll see some more coasters come the future...
  9. That's looking lovely! I really like the station building.
  10. ^I can make the huts invisible again. PM me about it. And I don't think that objects exists.
  11. Thanks for the input again everyone! 10ryansmith - I'm ok for layouts at the moment but the entrance takes up about half of the space in the park. I've already build a small woody and a B&M invert. I'll post a screen of the map at the bottom of this post. molemaster43 - I did have a B&M hyper going around the length of the park so I am thinking scratching the current coasters and building a different one. It all depends on the size. If I can't fit much into the park because coasters are in the way i'll build a different one. Hapomen22 - Thanks for the kind words! But trust me, there are much more talented players out there. You can start a thread for your park in the Roller Coaster Games, Models and Other Randomness forum and post your screens there. Any questions you have you can ask in the RCT2 Help Thread which is stickied at the top of the forum. Make sure to read the Posting Rules thread before posting screens and such. Also make sure to check out the Game Exchange where you can upload your parks and download others! This overview is not final as coasters, rides and buildings may be removed or replaced.
  12. Thanks for the kind comments everyone! ^Trust me, with the amount of space the entrance takes up there's hardly enough room for a small B&M Invert. Anyway this entrance might be used for a different project, so this isn't final. If I build a smaller entrance I might have more space and more room for a bigger coaster or one or two smaller ones.
  13. This is the entrance of a new mini park i've started. It's 45x45 so i'll be lucky if I can fit a decent coaster on the map and still have room for other rides and buildings. These buildings will greet guests as they enter the park.
  14. It looks nice but i'll be honest, it doesn't look very child friendly. The dull colours and the rocky land texture would make it look rather scary from a child's point of view.
  15. I agree, I'm totally loving that entrance! The only thing I dislike so far is the roof for XLR8.
  16. I'd be a tester but I won't have access to a laptop until Saturday. I actually like the light brown and gold. I suggest you try the burnt red sort of color and see how that comes out. Either way, I'm loving the park so far and can't wait to see it fully!
  17. This is looking really good! I'm liking all of the screens so far For names, I think perhaps Georgia Meadows?
  18. Thanks for the comments! ^Yeah, I'll definately try to implement some of my own ideas into my work.
  19. Really nice! I love the red/black/yellow colour combo on the drop tower!
  20. I just built something after getting lots of inspiration: Sit down, relax and have a luxury meal inside our fantastic restaurant! I even built the interior! If you're in a hurry, pick up a meal from the Drive Through. Here a shot of the Car Park. As you can see we tend to the needs of Disabled customers too.
  21. That looks great! I really like those little archways on the right. My only complaint would be the colour of the coaster. It doesn't fit the theme very well in my opinion.
