  1. I'm still trying to get clarification, as the email I got (and the website, which I linked to above) says that Passholders & Members get a "discount" but see your portal for more info. when I finally got thru to the portal - there's no mention of the drive thru lights event. so I emailed them to ask, and got a response saying that "Holiday in the Park is free for all current Pass Holders and Members" I wrote back to clarify that I'm not asking about "Holiday in the Park" - because, remember, SFFT *is* open for that. . but rather the drive thru lights event on evenings after park close, and on days they are not open. So still waiting to hear back. but maybe it's *not* an upcharge, and they just have a confused person in their promotion write-up department? regardless tho, we're planning on doing this! EDIT to update - got response from them. . . it's just a confused person in their promotion write up department: you only have to buy ticket for anyone without a pass who's riding in your vehicle. here's the gist of the response: "Thank you for contacting Six Flags Membership Support Center. Yes, that is correct. You would need to have a reservation but you may get in with your passes without purchasing a ticket. Should you have further questions, please feel free to contact us."
  2. yup. . add SFFT to the drive thru experiences being offered. (just got the email notification) Like others, it's $20 per person in the car if bought onsite, but $14.99 if pre-bought online. Tho reservations are required, so I guess, they are expecting folks to "join" and want to go, so they can get an extra $5 per ticket when a car that's reserved for 3 people, shows up with 5 people. *UNLIKE* others? it's not free with Season Pass, or Membership. Only "discounted" (not sure how much discount, since the server is down right ow for purchase - or possibly just overwhelmed). . but I'd guess $10 https://www.sixflags.com/fiestatexas/events/fiestatexas-events-hip-drive-thru?utm_source=park-newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=SFFT&utm_content=2020-11-25&utm_custom[NewsContentID]=46712&utm_custom[IssueID]=5127
  3. yeah. . was thinking that it looks like it would get very crowded very quickly with the one entrance/exit. I wonder if maybe that's "Entrance Only". . and there's an Exit Only on the side from the main ride, that puts folks OUT of the land?
  4. Dude. I'm in Texas, and here's our local: http://do512family.com/trail-of-lights/ cheapest general admission is $25 per car (that almost no one will do, as it's after 9:30pm), so anyone that chooses this option will go for the 7-9:30 pm slot, that will cost $35 per car. but really, most are going to choose the "dash pass" which lets cars in from 5:45 pm - and costs? $60 per car. and the "Premiere Night" event - at $95 per car is sold out. $20 per person is NOT overpriced. Sure, you have a "right" to bitch about the price, but why even waste your energy. you think it's overpriced? fine, don't go. . but why complain to ruin it for those that DON'T think it's overpriced, and are willing to pay for the enjoyment. and I say this as someone with no option of doing the drive thru, tho I'd love to and would if were in CA in a second.
  5. Worth every penny and would totally do it if we were in California. see, I'm not gonna bitch about cost - if it's something I think is worth, it? I pay for the experience, and enjoy it. you get what you pay for, you don't wanna pay? you don't get it. end of story. thanks for the report, and pix guys. Do they have music piped in? or broadcasting on a channel you can listen to while driving? or is it a "set your own soundtrack" (ie: listen to whatever you want on your radio/cd player situation?)
  6. Sending lots of good vibes Josh's way. whatever is going on, I hope everyone comes thru it ok.
  7. that's a great report. the food all looks good (I'm not a fan of gummies, nor two of those 3 flavors, but I'd be awful tempted to try the Butterscotch one!). As you note, the display is fantastic with some real appeal. at first I was a little surprised at the food prices (I'm used to Six Flags prices, and was thinking. .that's pretty reasonable). . . glad to see it was worth it, as that Beef looks really yummy. I think my favorite part tho, is the walk thru parade balloons. That's brilliant, and I would SO be up for doing that. I applaud them for doing it that way.
  8. have you noticed the standby is always long tho? maybe it's those that are waiting for folks in line for Soarin, and it's the only other "ride" there? it's just strange - as much as I like the Mickey shaped Gourds, I dont' see the massive appeal the ride has (and keep in mind, I like it a lot too, it's relaxing). . LOL
  9. maybe you can explain to me why the living with the land boat ride always has insane lines? I mean, I enjoy it - I like going thru the greenhouses - but it's really not much. Why is that line always so long??
  10. yeah. .I seriously do not understand the complaining. I don't like Harry Potter. Not a fan of the Author, and found the 1st book boring, and later books boring. Still haven't seen most of the movies. but I enjoyed the hell out of Forbidden Journey at USJ, because it's a really great ride. and the theming in the village was fantastic. and i liked the butterbeer. it DOESN'T matter if you like, or don't like the characters the concept is based on. as long as the ride is good. I don't buy Marvel Comics, but that won't stop me from riding the new ride. just as not being a fan of Aerosmith never has stopped me from enjoying Rock N RollerCoaster.
  11. oh, I signed the Petition. but I don't have any hope it will make a difference. I'm in the camp of just hoping Knoebel's swoops in to save it (and Bayern Kurve)
  12. ^ That's GREAT how was it? And how are the crowds?
  13. ^ hate to tell you, but 18K is not much. (certainly not enough that a Corporate Park will care about in the least). Case in point that 18K is not much? - yet. . she's STILL dead.
  14. ^ yeah. . the food at both Texas Six Flags (and I suspect all across the chain) are outrageous. and they do that on purpose, to get folks to buy the season Dining Pass. Seriously, that would have counted as a meal & Snack (- the drink) on my dining plan, which, I believe in total? was $39 when I added it to our passes last year. (we have the basic Meal + Snack, not the one that includes Dinner, nor the free drink). But we drink water with it. . so if I've eaten at the park twice (which I have this year), then I paid for it.
  15. sorry gonna miss you. Spouse just really doesn't want me out in any group setting (even outside) when Covid is spiking. but have a great time, and I too, hope you have a really quiet day!
  16. (but hell, it's your opinion, and you're welcome to it - but I think most all would disagree. As do you, since you note your opinion "might be unpopular")
  17. Agreed with Zach. . my first thought too was "I see some Hakugei elements" - and that dive / death roll thing looks like it will be THE element that really sings on this ride. looks great!
  18. they have 3 trains on Superman - and often run all 3. At *least* one of them has a rattle. that said, we rode twice a few weeks ago, and had good rides both times. so might be luck of the draw with the train.
  19. really great report, and some nice pics. you picked a GREAT day to be there! the weekends before were absolutely packed, but looks like you had a quiet-ish day. a few comments: - Goliath isn't a Parking Lot coaster, but it *IS* a Parking Lot Picnic Area Coaster - as that's what they removed to drop this ride in. Fun fact, it's the same model (Batman clone) that's just up the road at SWSA (Great White there), tho the one at SFFT is a bit more "snappy". . in fact, the only one I've ever been on that's more snappy is the one at SFOG. Hope you caught this later in the day once it was warmed up, it hauls. -- Daredevil Dive wasn't just closed for the season, they never officially opened it (not sure if you were kidding or not). It's been sitting completed and ready to go for several months now. . just ready for them to start letting folks ride. Too bad you didn't get to see it at night, as the lighting package on/around it is really fantastic - including lots of fire! - was the Joker Funhouse open? or were they going around it due to Covid? that funhouse is the highlight of the ride for me (tho the floater air is amazing). Yes, it's like 5 feet taller (maybe actually 15 feet taller) so they could claim "tallest". -- glad you got to ride Pirates. It was shut down for months due to "no indoor rides" because of Covid. It actually had reopened when I was there on 10/17, but it broke down while I was in line. . so I haven't ridden it since Feb. Was planning to go meet up with a TPR Boardmember this coming weekend, but with cases spiking, my Spouse does not want me to go to a theme park. - yeah, that F'ing Dragon on Bugs will SOAK you (for those unaware, not only does it spit, but it also tracks along with the log as it goes around that curve, making SURE to get everyone in the log wet. It's not always on, but when it is? yep, it's a wet ride. (same is true of GullyWasher. . look at those exiting to see if they have the Waterfalls on. If they are mostly drenched? then yep! and phone needs to go in a ziplock baggie).
  20. great start, and can't wait to read along. damn, your camera takes GREAT pics - that opening photo at SFFT with the purple lights and the fog is really beautiful, and many of your other pics in just this 1st section are stunning.
  21. It really is going to depend when you are going. . if you're in late Jan, then they probably are already ramping up for Mardi Gras (it ran for multiple Months last year), so that might draw in bigger crowds for the special food offerings/parades/shows, etc. keep in mind, in Jan, the waterpark section (Whitewater Bay) will *not* be open. Honestly, the best time to visit Fiesta is in the hot Texas summers, as the waterpark will drain a LOT of the crowd from everywhere else in the park until late afternoon - leaving really empty ride queues for most of the morning/early afternoon. Can't say how it's gonna be when you visit, tho I wouldn't pre-purchase. I'd wait until you see how the crowds are first. note: at the moment, Wonder Woman is NOT on the Flash Pass (it might be by the time you visit, but for now, it's not). so the real benefit you'd get would be for Joker (giant pendulum), Iron Rattler, Poltergeist (Flash Pass drops you directly in the station), and possibly Superman (if the park is packed). it's also good for cutting lines on Bugs Whitewater Rapids (flume) & Gully Washer (Rapids) - tho if it's cooler, which it will be in Jan, they might not be operating (or might have no lines regardless). and *maybe* they'll open the new ride in Jan. . it's ready to go, I could see them opening it for Mardi Gras Celebration. the Flash Pass office at Fiesta is to the Right of Boomerang - which you dead end into when you enter the park, and keep walking straight ahead.
  22. looks to me like just a glitch - maybe they weren't expecting to need reservation system into 2021, so it's not enabled and they need to tweak it. Fiesta is my home park, if you've never been you'll love it.
  23. ah. .but you forget, I live in Texas. 3 1/2 hours (which is how long it would be from the Cemetery in NJ (which is only ~30 minutes from Manhattan) is really nothing. It's like a drive to Houston, or the Galveston Pleasure Pier. And I / We've done that plenty of times. Heck, my Spouse used to go to every Texans Home Game in Houston. . drive down in morning, spend 6 hours at game (including tailgating), and then drive back. so it's not that big a deal for us.
