Hersheypark (HP) Discussion Thread
bert425 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I would also suggest to save your fast pass money and instead stay at the Hershey Hotel or the Hershey Lodge (the lodge is the cheaper of the two.) You will get in 3.5 hours before park close the day before your ticket and my experience is that the lines really die down at night. Plus you will get into the park an hour early at 9am and it's like having an hour of ERT on Skyrush, Comet, and SDL (those are the only 3 coasters that open early). I was able to ride Skyrush 4-5 times each morning I visited without having to get off. The preview night and the early entry are great perks and I think a better option than the fast pass. not to mention, the Hershey Lodge also has a free shuttle, so you save on parking. (parking at the Lodge is free), AND has a few very good, and reasonably priced restaurants on site. -
welcome to the family! (no one will ever know )

Kate Pierson married her longtime companion this past weekend in Hawaii. Although the B52s always have been extremely gay friendly (all 3 of the male members were/are gay), I had absolutely no idea Kate was a member of the LGBTQ community as well! (I always figured she was just their Female friend. . while Cindy was Ricky's sister. regardless. . good for them! http://worldofwonder.net/justmarried-congrats-to-kate-pierson-monica-coleman/

she had a HUGE hit here in the 60's, and is very likely best known in the States for this: [youtu_be] [/youtu_be] she was also pretty well known for her version of "Alfie": https://youtu.be/ZAuoNa5g6i8?list=PLgMpJApd9er45ihovHB33nrMRL8XNmgP6 R.I.P. Cilla.

Kennywood (KW) Discussion Thread
bert425 replied to DenDen's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
if you read thru the thread (and having been there, I can attest), when you enter the park, head left immediately after coming out of the tunnel, and head back to Exterminator (indoor spinning mouse). it's the coaster in the park with the worst capacity, and once the line gets long, it never gets any shorter. After Exterminator, get in line for Phantom (especially if they are only running one train), and Black Widow. those were really the only lines that were somewhat long when we visited, and once those were out of the way, we did the rest of the park at our leisure. Oh, and Jackrabbit and Racer are not only awesome, they are people eaters, so even if the lines look long, they move quickly. Thunderbolt is a bit slower, but worth waiting for. -
The last new Coaster in your Count

Tempesto at BGW. but I don't have any idea how many I've ridden, as I don't keep count -
wow. . a non clever Transexual joke, in a thread that has NOTHING to do with Transgender, on a site that's extremely LGBT friendly. you are so, so funny. NOT

TPR loves cruises too! Any of those trips for next year would be great. Seeing as I just went to Cedar Point for the first time in 15 years this month I'd say go for that, but there isn't much else to do in that area. Definitely take 2 full days to do the park and stay on-site FOR SURE. Lots of perks including big discounts for admission and early entry. Since all the hotels are on the island you don't have to take shuttles or drive anywhere. This was a big one for us as I get tired very easily so we were able to walk 5-10 mins back every afternoon for an hour or two to rest. Another member here stayed at Breakers and loved it. They were booked up so we stayed at Sandcastle Suites which was a bit dated but completely fine and we would stay there again. Recommend the Corkscrew Wing if you stay there... nice and quiet. I didn't see your Philly TR last year and just read through the entire thing! Storm Runner is one of my favorite rides anywhere. Thanks for the CP info. I'm not sure we'd plan a whole vacation around it (since as you may have noticed, we like to mix in culture/museum stuff as well on the week long trips).. but maybe we can manage a weekend trip just for that park. Yeah. . I loved Storm Runner, tho I HATED Skyrush

Thanks! you absolutely should make it down to BGW, it's only a 3 hour drive from DC, and if you time it right, you can hit Kings Dominion on the way down too. BGW is an absolutely beautiful park, and although 2 days was plenty of time, we actually DID go back the 3rd day for some re-rides hope you get to make it there soon!

Other must do ride: Skooters (Bumper Cars), Downdraft, Stratofear, Flyers, Looper, Cosmotron, Carousel you have probably not experienced any of these rides before and if you have not in the form they run them at Knoebels. Set aside an hour in your day to sit and play Fascination. (it wont be enough, as time flies in that place). . it's an experience you can rarely find at parks nowadays, and not only is it fun, but you can win some nice little prizes to take home (he says as he looks at the Geode nightlight we won last year there). (oh, and the train out into the woods is a MUST do.. try to time it in the evening, as the deer will be out eating from the feeders off the tracks) -

Mmm . . . fried pepper jack cheese on a stick . . . yep.. AMAZING. . and well worth dealing with the huge crowds to get to it (the stand is near the bandstand in the kiddie section. . so lots of strollers over there.. but worth the trek) -
thanky.. if she would just learn that the walls don't move, and stop bumping into them! Stella is a cutie-pie too!
