Great that the goal has been hit! and hopefully the news will continue to be "not worse" or even better, "some improvement" for Jack. but wonderful that the goal was hit. . now to get to the stretch goals! I'm continuing to point folks to the campaign, and I hope others are as well. -

very glad to hear he is doing better. I had every intention of donating, and just haven't been able to yet due to the insane week I've had going on at work. . but Robb's kind offer of crap was just the impetus I needed to step away from work to get this done! just donated now. thoughts and good vibes sent their way as well! I honestly don't understand this kind of comment. We visited BGW for the first time in 2015, and found it to be a stunning and amazing park (with the only real dud "Europe in the Air"). but I can't imagine they would bother with "a large coaster" as you put it. they already have Several: Apollo's Chariot -- large, thrill coaster Alpengeist -- large, thrill coaster Griffon -- large, thrill coaster Tempesto -- large, thrill coaster Loch Ness Monster -- large, thrill coaster (yes, it IS, it has two loops). the only real "family" coaster they have is Verbolten. . so yeah, I can absolutely see them getting a family coaster, similar to Cobra's Curse, and that's likely the best move FOR the park.

glad you had a good time, even with the plane issue! and thrilled to see you got to the giant Aruba sign

That's awesome! Congrats on the weight loss!! thanks! I've actually lost a little more since then here I am at a performance art show the other night (that's Rebecca Havermeyer, the opening act of the show, with me). . at -58lbs.

you should read thru the thread, this question has been asked a bunch, with a lot of answers (some within the past 10 pages). but if you want to ride the park's Bobsled (la Vibora), do that first, unless you are a single rider. Otherwise, the line gets long and stays long the whole day, so knock that out early.

I'm going on Liberty Feb. 2017 and the waterslides look great! Just went on Allure and had an amazing time, so we booked onboard which is fairly cheap. The zip line on Allure was fun but very short, although where are you going to zip line on a ship in the middle of the ocean? Loved Central Park on the ship and the bar Trellis in that area! are you going with Arno's group?. . it's our first "themed" cruise, and we usually don't do this kind of stuff. . but the price (and OBC) was right, and we have TONS of friends going. if yes, can't wait to say "hello" in person! I'm not going with Arno's group but didn't know there was a Theme?? I'm going on the 19th of February so not sure if that's the same cruise but if so yeah say hello!!! Feb 19 sailing out of Galveston? if yes, there's a gay-bear group, currently over 250 booked that's gonna be on the ship. we're sailing with them. .like I said, we typically don't do themes, but we have lots of friends going. if you're already booked on the boat, but not with Arno's group.. . . I'll bet you could contact him to attend some of the special "bear" functions/parties (if you wanted to, of course). They haven't really announced anything yet, since it's still almost a year out, but there's gonna be a lot of speical things Arno plans for the group

My Brother just got back from Vegas 3 days ago, and we discussed Vegas over lunch yesterday. the others have already followed suit -- similar to how they all charge Resort Fees now. He runs a national Poker Chip club, and was trying to arrange which hotel they would be using this year for their convention. He told me they were looking at Off Strip options (can't recall the name of the casino tho).. and he told me that Valet was $45 and Self Parking was $35. . and so that Hotel lost his business. They ended up looking elsewhere.

Thank you, I really appreciate your response. I'm shocked as I thought Verbolten would be the tightest fit since the car themed trains look so small in the pics. I imagined the lap bar would be really tight. I had no issue at all, with a big gut (now gone), on Verbolten. No issue on Apollo or LNM either. and Griffon has "big boy" seats in all 3 rows. .so you can pick and choose which one you want. Alpengeist tho, the one "big boy" seat is in row 5. .and gave me a very rough ride.

Las Vegas Trip Planning

yep that one is our favorite and usually stop by once or twice. (and if you go for Sunday brunch, it includes mimosas!) the only other ones we frequent: the Buffet at Mirage (comparable to the Ceasar's one, but we just like the atmosphere better), and the Golden Nugget on Fremont (on the weekends, for the Seafood heavy options) -

Thanks for the advice, I'm not so big on Coaster Counts, that doesn't really mean anything to me. I just thought since I'll be in Vegas why not go for them? I'm for sure doing Adventuredome, as for Manhattan Express and Desperado it's one or the other for me, no need for both this trip. Thank you for your input!!! in that case, it's an easy call: 1 is on the strip, and is always open. the other is 40 minutes away in Primm, and is NOT always open. so yeah.. stick with Roller Coaster/Manhattan Express at NYNY. -

adventure dome is worth it for the 2 coasters. But just buy single ride tix.. not worth it to get the band (unless you're dying to ride some flats) and while in CircusCircus stop in for one of the best steaks in town at the Steakhouse there. (it's NOT cheap by any stretch of the imagination. . but well, well worth the money, and you won't believe you're still in CircusCircus - the restaurant is THAT nice (all brass and leather interiors) http://www.circuscircus.com/dining/the_steakhouse.aspx we make it a point to eat there every time we're in town. -

I visited back in 2012 when I was on tour with a show. We had a weekend in Huntsville and decided it'd be way more fun than sitting in the hotel or wandering the mall. It's not as cool as Cape Canaveral and it sure has its share of cheese but it's still a fun way to waste a day. The exhibits are incredible and the movies are excellent, as well. On the amusement side of things, though, it was pretty weak aside from the space shot. Being launched directly next to an actual Saturn V rocket is pretty kickass. my exact feelings on it too - especially the space shot! (my Ex lived in Huntsville, and i went to visit there and we spend the day, and then went to see Episode 1 in IMAX with the 501st in attendance there). and I even got to try on a helmet! one of my favorite pics -- bert luvs him some stormtrooper

they pulled out two rides (tho the ship hasn't been working for seasons), to put in 3. so yeah. . not very much of a gain, but it will be nice to have a few more things to do on the boardwalk. really gonna miss Frisbee tho. .I loved that ride Come up to SFOT and ride Riddler Revenge anytime. LOL. .not the same ride tho. Frisbee you sit inside (not facing outwards). Frisbee was like a Tilt-a-Whirl on steroids

Thanks for the tip! I assumed that La Vibora wouldn't draw as much of a crowd due. I'll try and knock it out early before it gets too packed. you'll pass right by it on the way to Giant anyways. . if it's open, knock it out early. that and Skyscreamer always seem to get the longest lines. . unfortunately.
