What Was the Last Beer You Drank?
Someotherguyuser replied to robbalvey's topic in Random, Random, Random
Karl Straus Red Trolly Ale. Pretty good. -
I have heard rumors that if Colossus were to get RMC'd, the whole Colossus County Fair area would get revamped to give it a nostalgic, Carnival feel with the addition of 1 maybe 2 flats. Just a rumor though, so take it with a pinch of salt. Hopefully it becomes a reality. PLEASE let this be true. Give CCF Iron Colossus, a Sky Flyer, and a Frisbee ride, plus some scenic touch ups, and you have a solid area.

Awesome! Honestly, I feel like it took a really long time for something that shouldn't have taken that long (sound like another SoCal park? lol). Maybe I'm exaggerating though. I'll use this as an excuse to go back though, since I haven't visited since last July. Really? I thought those games went up fast personally. Maybe they had to train the employees after they were done building the stands. But yeah, I'm loving how SSFL looks. Something like this will be great for USH.

Weirdest Things The 'GP' Have Said
Someotherguyuser replied to maliboomer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
When I was at Disneyland yesterday, people where lined up around the hub to see the fireworks. One person had her stroller parked over the railings in one of the gardens! Whatever works I guess... -
Where Are You Planning To Go In 2014?
Someotherguyuser replied to azza29's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Sounds like the stock went up on being able to go these following parks this June: Universal Studios Florida Islands of Adventure Magic Kingdom EPCOT Animal Kingdom Disney's Hollywood Studios Six Flags Over Texas My fam is planning a Florida trip and wants to visit the Florida parks. I might be able to fly to Texas after Orlando and then head back home. Sounds like week three of June will be a park-packed week for me. *Hopes and prays Diagon Alley will be open when I go. I also want to visit Knott's and Magic Mountain sometime soon. -
Thanks to a connection with a fellow cast member, I was able to get a ride on Big Thunder Mountain last night. It was GREAT! The ride feels so much smoother now with the new track in place. The whole refurbishment was essentially a touch-up so aside from some lighting enhancements and a few new animatronics, there weren't any real major updates until the final lift hill. The Earthquake scene has been removed entirely and has been replaced with a WAY more awesome dynamite scene (Spoiler ahead) The digital mapping and "fog blast" effects made it look incredible. (End spoiler). That final scene definitely made the ride look amazing. Overall, I really enjoyed the refurbed Big Thunder and you definitely will too! I'm looking forward to getting to hear your reactions when you see the explosion scene.

Best and Worst SoCal Parks?
Someotherguyuser replied to 2012jarrett's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
My personal list of SoCal parks (Best to Worst): -Disneyland -California Adventure -Knott's Berry Farm -Universal Studios Hollywood -Sea World San Diego -Legoland California . . . . . . -Six Flags Magic Mountain. I feel like I'm in the minority when I say that SFMM is the worst park in SoCal. It's a depressing park that feels like a chore to do. It has some descent coasters, but that's it. Everything is in disrepair, the theming is poor and has gotten worse with YOLO, there's hardly anything to do besides the coasters, and it takes FOREVER to get from point A to point B. Also, the food is overpriced and terrible. I won't be going back until WCB. I have no incentive to renew my pass at this point. -
There's already a Crepe place at CityWalk. They may not see that as a necessity considering that. Speaking of which, I've never eaten at the crepe place at CityWalk! That's pretty shameful considering how much I go to USH. I should fix that next time I go. I haven't been to USH since the semester started for me but will once DM opens up. The new games look very nice and so does SSFL! I'm looking forward to seeing them in action as well as Springfield. Something else to throw out there: I've heard that there should be some soft opens for DM:MM in the next week or two.

Update: It wasn't just the floor that was blocked off, but the entire structure. There's a pretty long line. Also, here's what else he said: "Hoo this is rich. The cabs are taking to their Destination and are expecting pay. Apparently the drivers no nothing and are demanding payment. What a comedy of errors" Boy I feel bad for him.

There's apparently a bomb threat going on in the Kong parking structure. One of my FB friends is posting on his experience as he happened to be parked on the level where the threat is going on. He's not able to go back to his car as the bomb squad has blocked acces to the level of the structure. Everyone who was parked on the closed off area have had to make arrangements with a taxi. He posted a picture on my FB and the line is incredibly long to have a taxi. It's turning out to be terrible inconvenience for the guests. He reported that the guests who cannot access their cars cannot talk to any guest services employee until they wait in line. Yeah, it's not good right now.
