Just renewed my pass last weekend to go to the Transformers preview. I've been waiting since 2008 to go on this thing. I'm going to try to be there early on Saturday to see this as I anticipate the park being near capacity. Just think about it. With Universal's "Buy a day, get a year free" deal going on, everyone going to the park right now and before the end of April is a passholder.

Weirdest Things The 'GP' Have Said
Someotherguyuser replied to maliboomer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Went to Universal Studios Hollywood yesterday with a few people I knew. As we were going down the escalators, they were talking about the Transformers ride. They were saying that they heard the Japan version was good. They were saying that Transformers was a roller coaster with loops that went 60mph. In a small building? Really? While I was waiting in the three-hour line for the new Space Mountain at Disneyland (It was opening weekend), one GP told me that the old SM was once a wooden roller coaster since it was so rough. I haven't been on Flight of Fear, but maybe the "roughness" may have been their consensus between a steel or a woodie. Top -

Why not do that and change the name to Green Mantis? Problem solved. -
http://www.disneygossip.com/2012/03/great-big-beautiful-tomorrow.html So what do you guys think? I could see the Wall-E D-Ticket replace Stitch and Stark Expo or an Avatar ride replace Monsters Inc. Tomorrowland could really benefit from replacing those attractions (Haven't seen Monsters Inc. in person though).

The thing is, TRON: Legacy did gross a lot of money at the box office, but it just broke even domestically. While $172 million in the domestic market sounds like it did very well, it's not sounding too great when you add in the fact that it cost $170 million to make the whole movie...that's not even counting the ad campaign. Because of that, I wouldn't expect a TRON attraction to occupy TL (Occupy TL? ). I think Imagineers may have something else up their sleeves for the Innoventions building.

At La Fiera, have you gone inside the haunted walk-thru? If so, how was it? -

I'm sure a few rides are going to get the chopping block to make way for the new ones. That park is so darn small. -
I really don't think Knott's is going to add a Giga. For one reason, Matt Oumiet (Sorry for slaughtering his last name) is the new head of Cedar Fair and will be trying to focus more on a family audience. Secondly....hasn't been rumor been going on since the early/mid 00's? Call me crazy if you will, but I don't think Knott's is the kind of park to have a Giga. I don't want to see a thirty story monster looming over Ghost Town.

You're correct. As far as I know, there is no law saying that there HAS to be OTSRs (Over the Shoulder Restraints) on any coaster with a loop (Look at Montezooma's). The lawyers insisted that SF put them on there so they did. Management has tried ever since to get rid of those clunky OTSRs, but OSHA law says that once a safety feature is in place, it CANNOT be removed for any reason whatsoever. Allow me to close this post with an appropriate Simpsons clip. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0u9JAt6gFqM

Dont forget about Lex Luthor: DOD. Well, yeah. I meant besides that. I'm all for the retrack of Colossus. If they make the trains race again with ninety-degree turns, near-vertical drops, and several airtime hills like Texas Giant, I will have a new-found love for that ride. I think it's great the way it is, but giving it the Texas Giant treatment would make it way more exciting in my opinion.
