  1. Since when did getting stuck on a lift hill = safety risk? djw44 never said anything about being stuck on a lift hill, he is talking about cables snapping. Stop putting words in other people's mouths. Do you remember when Millennium Force's entire cable and catch car went over the first drop with the train? That is all that needs to be said.
  2. This makes me wonder how the trains will look. I hope they are ridiculous in theming.
  3. Pilgrim's Plunge has the same supports.
  4. I don't think Wodan sounds like one of Godzilla's fellow monsters at all.
  5. I am curious as to how cold it got that night.
  6. I'm sorry Disney and Islands of Adventure fans. Europa park (in my opinion) is the best themed park in the world. I love their ability to have insane theming with the combination of coasters that are allowed to be coasters, and not entirely hidden. The have a perfect balance of building coasters that are pretty without the theming, and then theming around them.
  7. I don't think Efteling is too concerned about adding more thrill rides. Efteling is a family theme park that is all about being immersed in heavily themed lands. Just because parks near to it are doing one thing, doesn't mean they need to. If every park in the area were to offer the same thing, there would be no variety.
  8. Does Europa Park put up a ferris wheel in the winter? I see one in the last picture that I have never seen before.
  9. I would have to say Belantis. I have never been there, but it looks terrible. I call it Field: The Park. It's just a bunch of poorly themed rides plopped in a field.
  10. My first coaster was Wacky Worm at Worlds of Fun. But my first large scale coaster was Orient Express, also at Worlds of Fun. Rest in peace you sexy red Arrow.
  11. I am most excited for Verbolten because it will be the prettiest and most interesting of the coasters.
  12. I honestly think that keeping the layout the way it is, with a new steel track would be amazing. I could see the two turns under the lift being turned into really low 90 degree (or plus) turns, and a few more small airtime pops thrown in. I'm sure the coaster will shred through the layout with it being steel versus a wooden coaster with really bad banking and PTC trains. I am just dreaming though. And regarding the complainers about the park going down hill. Prowler is about three years old, and we just got a much needed and beautiful Planet Snoopy upgrade, the refurbished Grand Carrousel, and the new Festhaus. If you are expecting the park to pull a huge coaster out of their ass right now, especially with all the ADA crap next year, you should consider revising your thoughts on the matter. I'm sorry for sounding harsh, but I am sick of these people who only think about a new coaster. It's obvious we all want a new coaster, but park maintenance and upkeep is a more important long term thing for them to invest their money in right now. As for Timber Wolf, I was only dreaming.
  13. I have been dreaming of Timber Wolf getting the Rocky Mountain treatment ever since New Texas Giant opened. I could imagine it being a similar ride experience to Balder, given the size. Of course this would be a STEEL coaster, not wood like Six Flags Over Texas claims.
  14. Video 6, 53 seconds into the video, Maurer Sohne, Bayern Park coaster, talking about Capacity of the ride with the double shot system.
