  1. Yeah, I'd like a flat too, but I'd like a GOOD wooden coaster soon. Hurler hasn't aged well, the Rebel Yell is just okay... I like Grizzly but some think it's too aggressive. (I guess the former Scooby counts too.) A GCI coaster to replace Hurler or to join the other 3 would make the park better rounded. I say get 5 family flats and put them in different places around the park. (A monters, regular frisbee, etc.) Then in 2013 or 2014 get a world class wooden coaster.
  2. ^ It's actually just a little less than a modern day wooden coaster. I think Renegade at Valleyfair! cost only 6.5 million or something like that.
  3. I think the best spot for a giant frisbee is where Shockwave stands now. It'd fit in with the generic themeing of the area too. Sadly, I don't see Shockwave being removed in the next 5 years. Especially since they just repainted it.
  4. Maybe these are things we can cross off our list, instead of what may be coming? (Or they could do something really big and give us everything they put on those pikes!)
  5. Hersheypark and Europa Park. Odd mix, but such a ride selection.
  6. Thanks. I think I see it on this satellite image now. Any good places to get funnel cakes in the park?
  7. So how exactly does the swimsuit rule work? I don't see a separate path that leads to White Water Landing from Wildwater Kingdom, but at the same time, I know that they don't allow you to walk around in just swimtrunks on the rides side. The answer is probably simple, but it isn't working out in my head. Looking forward to my trip there (and to ride Demon Drop at it's new home. Never thought I'd get to ride that again.). Of the 3 parks I'm visiting on my little trip (Knoebels, Dorney and SFGAdv.), it's the only one I've never been to.
  8. Or, ya know, they could surprise us and put in a "new" new coaster.
  9. I guess that depends on if you mind ghosts... Apparently there are a few there.
  10. Sundays at KD aren't bad, crowd-wise in my experience. However, you may be able to get everything in that you want even with the shorter time on Friday, though it's usually more crowded than Sunday is. I'd say go with Sunday so you can do re-rides.
  11. ^ And I have never once seen a picture showing their Flying Bobs nor their Mt. Kilamanjaro, oddly enough. I hear they had a Calypso over by the Hanna Barbera Land area back in the late 70s too.
  12. I still wish we'd get a giant frisbee, but at this point I doubt we ever will. If we do get Windseeker, I think it'd go good where the Flying Dutchman used to be. (Between Grizzly and the former Paramount Theater.) No other towers over there.
  13. ^ About 11 years ago a guy got drunk, wrestled himself halfway out of the restraints, and fell out near the end of the ride. He died of blunt force trauma.
  14. Standing up on your own will usually isn't an accident. Well, people were mentioning the Batman decapitation, and that was a result of stupidity too, as was the Shockwave incident. In my opinion at least. The death was the accident, not the stupidity.
  15. I guess the real question is if SkyRush will be presented by Geddy Lee or Neal Peart. Will the ride include a 20 minute drum solo?
  16. How about the 13 year old boy getting partially decapitated on KD's old Galaxi?
  17. I remember seeing some newsreel footage in a coaster documentary I saw about 12 years ago, and I'm wondering if this was the accident. I can't find the footage online, but it showed the station with the two trains smashed together, and I believe an interview with someone who was in line who says the train was going up the lift and then just fell back down the hill into the loading train. Looked like it was 70s or 80s news footage?
  18. Oh I can fill my day up. I love flat rides as well, and do re-rides while also spending quite a bit of time just soaking up the park atmosphere. I especially love parks in the dark, so I'd have to stay til closing anyway. You side lines are never a problem. Even with Possessed? I would think that one would have a long line most of the time.
  19. I'm heading up to Dorney for the first time the first week in August. I do have a few questions. I've heard that the park allows you to ride Thunder Canyon and White Water Landing in just swim trunks. Is that true? I don't like squishy shoes and wet underwear, but if I could ride in swim trunks, I'd ride them. I plan to go to the water park for the first few hours of the day and go back to my hotel to change clothes/shower/eat lunch after that, then come back for non-wet rides. I've heard this park compared to Carowinds in the past. Is that accurate? Corporate park, little shade, one or two good coasters, the others 'meh', lots of hand-me-downs? I plan to go on either Monday or Tuesday, so I'm guessing crowds will not be a problem on the rides side, correct?
