  1. Just got back from my first day at Ghost Rider, officially certified now . Overall the ride is actually pretty fun to operate and the people I worked with were all friendly and welcoming. The only thing I don't like is the probe system used to manually unlock individual restraints. It's tricky and somewhat complicated, but It seems like it just takes some getting used to. Looking forward to my first haunt shift this weekend.
  2. Keep forgetting to post this but xcelerator is back to two train ops. My ghostrider training is tomorrow ill let you guys know how it was after. Also montes train was connected to the winch yesterday so hopefully thats a good sign, ill update when i find out more.
  3. That seems like a solid strategy if you want to ride Ghost Rider. Your best bet for tickets is either online or by picking up a coupon from Burgerking. There's one by Knott's towards the 91 on Beach Blvd.
  4. Good luck, I hope you know first aid LOL. I'll probably ride it after the buffet and before haunts opens, so if you can turn off the mid-course brake for a bit and hold the front row for me. Seriously, hope you have fun. I presume you get a new Ghostrider western outfit for the new job? Haha I'll try and yeah I'll be getting the ghost town uniform, but during Haunt we just wear our Haunt shirts so I won't get to wear it for a while.
  5. While we're on the topic of Ghost Rider, after two months of conflicts and frustrations, I'm finally learning a new ride! What is that ride you ask? You guessed it, Ghostrider! Haha. I get the chance to operate it after riding it for so many years and seeing it get rougher and rougher. While it wasn't one of my top choices (Xcel,Monte, Mineride/Logride) I'm excited to finally learn a coaster after 4 months on the Fiesta Flats. Lucky for me I get to learn to operate it during Haunt so we'll be plenty busy, wish me luck I start next Tuesday .
  6. I haven't seen any at Knott's yet, but we have plenty of cats! I was working Hat Dance one night and one just casually walked out onto the platform. There's one named Baxter that always hangs out at the rides office backstage too haha.
  7. I still think an air race would be cool, seems like the perfect size spot for one too.
  8. Windseeker removal will begin in January, at least that's what they tell us employees.
  9. ^ I'd love to work those three rides simply for the history and significance behind them. Update on Xcelerator, this morning they were testing the purple train with the front car cover off (it looked quite bizarre to watch in action). Hopefully, this means two train operations will resume again shortly in time for peak haunt season.
  10. Update on Monte, talked to my manager today and she said it'll be down at least another month. Cable issues are the problem, don't know the specifics, but don't expect it to be up if you're visiting for Haunt.
  11. The slowest days are during the day before haunt. They're open till about 5 and re-open at 7 for Haunt. It is (even on a Saturday) DEAD as everyone is waiting to go to Haunt. thats what I was hoping for This is correct, we will be very slow on days before haunt so you shouldn't have a problem getting in multiple re rides if you please
  12. Hey, glad you had a good day at the park. Monte has been having cable problems since the day after WCB, I think my shift lead said it'll be down a few more weeks. I'll keep you guys updated when I learn more.
  13. This came directly from a coworker of mine today, I didn't even know how to respond. He said "Yeah I feel like it's time for Knott's to take out Xcelerator and put something else in it's place. It's not that great and no one would notice it's gone." He was being completely serious lol.
  14. No, people with long legs can usually spin and rock the ride gently, but what really breaks it is when people blatantly push it back and forth after getting off. And yeah hat dance takes forever to stop, people always try and get out before it does lol.
  15. My biggest pet peeve when I operated Rev. Yeah, lately though its been doing this weird thing where we have it set to limited capacity and after im done checking restraints it will say seats 25-28 came open while the ride was in motion, even though we never even started the cycle and those seats were locked down lol. I think it was because they just rehabbed it and the sensors were funky or something because it hasn't happened in a few days.
  16. Yeah, I see it happen all the time and confronting people about it can be such a pain and it's a hard problem to deal with. But yeah my coworker Sophie at Monte said she would be glad to work all the time if the guests were like you guys haha. The LAPD kids nearly caused La Rev to break by swinging the ride. If you swing the ride too high and you can't stop it in time, the ride will shut down because it thinks the ride is starting with the platform up and we have to call maintenance to come fix it which is 30 minutes plus of downtime.
  17. That's how I felt working that day as well. Once I saw the LAPD kids showing up (one of the counselors said there was over 2000 of them supposedly) I was worried West Coast Bash would turn into LAPD bash. Although I didn't see many TPR members at La Rev due to the jam packed day of activities, It was awesome to hang out at Monte for night ERT and was a great end to my weekend. My coworkers were so grateful to have you guys because of how hyper and uncooperative the LAPD kids were, coupled with the general GP.
  18. Will do! Sorry the ride was down for the first half of the day, but I'm glad they got it open in time for ERT for you guys.
  19. I had to leave before the night ERT, but kudos to the operator who made that sign. It's always cool to see parks out there that really care to put on awesome events at TPR and appreciate our visits! I'm glad everyone appreciated the sign! I just wanted to do a little something extra to make everyone feel welcome and it ended up being received so well haha. It was a blast to have you guys for night ERT at monte and I hope you all had a fantastic day.
  20. There's a place at the Anaheim Gardenwalk which is just down the street from Disney called Bowlmor. It's a bowling alley complete with mini golf, an arcade with ticket games and boardwalk games, and a restaurant/bar area. It'd be worth checking out. Here's the link www.bowlmor.com/anaheim/
  21. I just want to say thank you to everyone involved in making the event, it was truly amazing this year. I'm glad you guys enjoyed the sign, I truly enjoyed making it and hanging out at Monte with you guys for ERT. My coworkers Sophie and Desmond loved you guys and said you were energetic, respectful, and well behaved so kudos to you for leaving a good impression about the club on them. I spoke with several other operators at Xcel after the park closed and they said the same thing about you guys so thank you once again. I'm glad I was finally able to get my Monte ride with RD as well haha . Looking forward to the next TPR event I attend and I will be moving to a new ride soon so I'll let you guys know where I'm at when it happens .
  22. Can't wait for tomorrow! It's gonna be a great day! I'll be working 9-315 on the Knott's day at La Rev so feel free to drop by and take a ride . After that, I'll be hanging out at Montezooma's during ERT.
  23. Xcelerator tops my list, but some of my favorites include Montezooma's Revenge, California Screamin, and the Incredible Hulk. Can't wait to try out Full Throttle at WCB .
  24. If there's a TPR takeover at La Revolucion, I'll be there. Though, the ride usually has a long line, so it discourages me from riding. I might do a courtesy ride on it since you can't make WCB ERT. Haha thanks That'd be awesome. I was really hoping I'd get to operate for ERT, it's one of the main reasons I gave up doing Haunt as a monster when they told me I was getting trained a month ago. But for whatever reason, no one seems to know what's going on. I've talked to all my managers and upper management and they've told me Monte, Ghost Town, and all sorts of other stuff. Now it seems like they're sending me somewhere for Haunt, but they don't know where...even though Haunt is in like 3 weeks lol. Anyways, at least the people who will be doing it know that you guys are coming and know what were all about so it should be a good time.
  25. My managers still can't train me at Monte because they don't know where I'm going yet for Haunt. My Shift Lead started yesterday and when she asked for permission to continue they denied. Because of this, I unfortunately won't be able to operate Monte for you guys at WCB. I will however still be working that day from 9-315 at La Rev, so I'm up for a TPR take over if you guys want . So far I only know one of the operators for ERT, but she's awesome so you guys will be in good hands.
