  1. My thoughts and prayers are with that girl's family. Amusement parks are supposed to be fun adventures and to have something like that happen is beyond words. The rest of the kids in her class are probably devastated right now too. If this was some sort of accident, I hope they can figure out what happened and prevent it from happening again.
  2. This one is tough for me. I usually don't think too much about flat rides. They are more of a nice distraction for me. However, as I think of it one of the coolest rides I've been on is a centrifuge type ride where the floor drops down (sorry, I don't know the name). I also love the flying scooters and the Huss Top Spins.
  3. thanks..but don't call me Ma'am. LOL That makes me feel so old. I am really a big kid at heart! After all I am only 21...never mind that my oldest is 22! HaHa! Sorry, it's my military coming out. I am defintely not saying you're old. It's just my way of trying to show you respect.
  4. Seriously, Ma'am, you make the absolute best trip reports! I'm glad you all had a great time. Looks like a blast!
  5. These little carnivals are a ton of fun. We had one come through Hampton, VA for the Memorial Day weekend. It was a blast! Those little creepy, mobile coasters scare me more than any 300 footer ever could. You REALLY feel like you're going to die on those little things.
  6. I am partial to the Busch Gardens/Sea World coaster names. I especially like Kraken, Alpengeist, Griffon, and Montu. Outside of those I like Nemesis Inferno, Oblivion, and Riddler's Revenge.
  7. I could've done without the outside the park adventure! HaHa! I believe it!
  8. I waited 3 hours for Drachen Fire the day it opened. The line started all the way back at the Festhaus. It was opening day for the season and they were only running one train. It broke down a couple of times too but I was very determined to ride it. I loved it so much I ended up working on it just three years later! I also waited 3 hours, twice in the same day, for X. It was such a great ride we just couldn't help ourselves. We drove all the way there from Utah so we wanted our money's worth. Some of the most fun I've ever had on a theme park ride. If I remember right, it was March of 2003 so the ride was still fairly new. We went of most everything else there with no problem because everyone was in line for X.
  9. I just went here on Sunday for the first time this year. Park is still looking fantastic and the new Oktoberfest area looks nice. I had a pretzel and beer from the new shop and both were fantastic. I had a plain jumbo pretzel but can't remember exactly what type of beer I had, it was a craft wheat beer though. It was pretty good and reminded me of when I lived in Germany. They weren't doing anything with Mach Tower but it looks pretty amazing. A very different type of ride for Williamsburg. The longest line we stood in was Curse of DarKastle, about 40 minutes. Now that I've been to Islands of Adventure, I see why people think Spiderman is better. DarKastle just doesn't have as much action as Spiderman. DarKastle is still a ton of fun but just isn't quite as good as Spiderman. As I've gotten older Loch Ness continues to be more painful every year. I have some issues with my lower back and most coasters don't bother me expect Stand-Ups. However, on Loch Ness I can really feel the pain as my back compresses through the loops. I don't want to, but I may have to start sitting it out. Trapper's Smokehouse was as good as ever. I have a tradition of buying a keychain from every themepark I go to and I need a new one for BGW now that Big Bad Wolf has retired. I prefer to get ones with the coasters on it but they didn't have any good ones. Bummer.
  10. Fantastic trip report! Thanks for posting, sounds like you had quite the adventure; both inside the park and outside.
  11. 1. Alpengeist 2. Montu 3. Flight Deck 4. Chinese Fireball 5. Hungarian Horntail (I suppose some would say that Dragon Challenge would be considered one, however I consider them two seperate rides.) Afterburn would go to #5 if the dragons were combined.
  12. I just rode Griffon on Sunday night just before the park closed. Awesome ride but had to sit next to a stinky guy that complained the whole time.
  13. Unfortunately I haven't ridden many for a frame of reference. However, the one I have was fantastic; at that was Kraken.
  14. I haven't been to Sea World San Antonio since the late '80's. I believe I went the year after it opened. I would really love to go back one day. Thanks very much for putting together the great trip report.
