  1. VORTEX life matters too!!!! Piece of Vortex track removed for project 2019
  2. Orange is current construction activity, Blue is sandbags redirecting water flow, you can see them clearly in a post above, Lime Green is two dug out holes which could be the tunnel entrance and exits, Yellow looks to me like a possible station location and lift hill dig out with an electrical area dug out as well.
  3. upgraded drone for higher quality lenses. Better view of construction from way way above.
  4. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v= Video from today! January 19, 2018 update. Weird activity in White Water Canyons Forest, Looks like the start of a tunnel being dug, you can see the new river flow being directed, looks like some activity near Minebusters entrance as well. They're moving so quick! Some tree removal and clearing in White Water Canyon's forest. New river flow, lot's of excavation and activity. Looks like a large hole being dug and a digger and activity near entrance of Minebuster Current area of activity keeps growing lol weird area to snow plow lol
  5. The permit has been approved and ends on January 2020. This would tell us the coaster is most likely 2019 as for safety against breaking contract due to delays it would have been prolonged if it was a 2020 coaster. January 2020 is the latest Cedar Fair has to do what they need to do, fix anything, and re open the river back up to it's regular flow. This for sure tells us 2019 is the year the coaster will open as this also includes landscaing such as tree's and flowers along the river in the report so that's why your're seeing a later date. Another note is, if you check out my Youtube channel, from my drone footage you can see construction has well started off thus telling us it's probably 2019 as well as coasters don't take this long to build. 1 year 5 months is a long time to build a coaster especially since this construction team is moving very, very quickly.
  6. Guys, lol the lake isn't going to disappear lol Coasters can be built over water.. i.e Behemoth and Vortex.. They are probably just doing the footers for the coaster now cause they won't be able to go near that area (due to vortex running and water being filled back up) till November.
  7. BIG UPDATE Vortex Lake is now being torn to shreds and dug up revealing a much larger project and construction starting so soon for a 2019 coaster. We were teased by Park management about a 2019 something and Cedar Fair CEO about something big coming to Canada's Wonderland and well... think were watching it be built now! Large construction crew on site, it keeps growing with lots of people and trucks, lots of diggers, bulldozers and dump trucks. Cedar Fair purchased/ rented some off site land next to the park to dump the soil for this project. MY DJI Spark footage, and my new upgraded 4k drone should be arriving shortly for better videos and photos. Hope you guys enjoy as much as I do, as this appears to change in size almost on the daily! green is construction vehicles such as; diggers, bulldozers or dump trucks/ trucks. Red is dug up land, bulldozed land or fenced off area.
  8. Red represents all the construction projects/ land clearing currently as of today. Yellow represents markers/ construction fences. This park looks like it's up for a complete overhaul currently lol
  9. Looks like the park has acquired some land on city property for a small expansion near Dinosaurs Alive. Maybe this is the site of the new hotel so the park doesn't have to take up valuable parking space in an already constantly over flowing lot on weekends in Summer. Hotel would have direct access to the family side of the park where they could offer after hours events in the kids area, off highway access. bulldozed and digging Outer fence marked with pink markers from ghoster coaster area to action theatre. the plot of land in question is quite large with a black construction fence added. red is the city property being used by Cedar Fair now for whatever they're doing green is the dinosaurs alive area that will be availabe shortly
  10. Digging up some roadway, Cars were all removed from the L shaped fenced off area and moved north (construction trailer on site), Lot's of construction/ action on Skyriders plot of land. digging on roadway overview construction trailer and L shaped fenced off area. digging/ excavating
  11. Construction update on January 10, 2018 Skyrider's plot of land has land clearing on it, digger, and a new black construction fence. Land clearing near SkyHawk, and another construction trailer has popped up near Splash Works. New building going up behind Splash Works, and LumberJack construction can be seen. This drone footage is shot off the property in a nearby local park. large portion of the parking lot fenced off and construction trailer with two portapotties. The cars parked there were all being removed today. new construction trailer winterfest storage area finished, new splash works break room being built and bricks stored in the splash works area. Lumberjack construction black construction fence, digger, bulldozed land. overview
  12. Last drone update of till spring as below freezing temperatures move in; Skyrider's old plot of land has had minimal action and probably won't see anything till March/ April. They removed a bit of fencing on Windseekers side where the stakes are. There's a construction trailer there and the wood fence has been removed with stakes/ markers and that's about it so far. Old catering facility buildings moved to the boneyard behind Minebuster's turnaround for what's being said to be WinterFest storage. The catering facility is being upgraded to beautiful Canadian themed buildings with dark wood. Splash Works is getting a mini makeover in the kids section and digging out of the new splash area/ kiddie pool will begin soon by the looks of it. You can see over by Vortex ultra zoomed in the concrete pad where the new flat ride "LumberJack" will sit. Land clearing and bright white cement can be seen over there. cement pad/ land clearing for LumberJack look closely and you'll see the fence with the red markers on it has been removed on Windseekers side near Vortex's track old catering buildings being used for WinterFest storage Splash Works upgrade to kiddie area
  13. I can't tell if your're being sarcastic or not, if not here's the reasons why; 1. transforming wonderland into a resort is the current focus of Cedar Fair, as stated on conference calls and BNN interview. 2. Attracting families to stay the night that don't live within the close proximity of the park by offering combo deals and family desired rooms, again as stated in the BNN report. 3. large attendance numbers give apark that much more reason to invest, a business never will look at their numbers and be like kk thats good enough lets call it quits here and just stay stagnent. They are after the Boston/ Michigan market. Again as stated in the BNN interview. 4. Canada's Wonderland is a massive family park and families like to have cheaper vacation places and Canada's Wonderland is slowly becoming the disney land of Canada and much cheaper then losing 25% of your dollar crossing the border. 5. I could keep going but I'll stop as you should get the point now. Canada's Wonderland is mainly a family park, thus why we see a lot of family additions and investments and a coaster enthusiast may see it as valuable land being used for things other then a coaster but this is great for our park. Look at what they're doing this off season; 1. fixing Wonder Mountains roof and support structure. 2. A thrilling Flat Ride, family flat ride and Splash works expansion (small expansion). 3. Upgrading the catering facility with beautiful Canadian themeing. 4. What looks like construction starting for a possible 2019 coaster. 5. A resort is being built for 2019/2020 as stated by Cedar Fair for Toronto and Carowinds. This to me is super exciting and screams massive investments moving forward with a desire to turn Canada's Wonderland into a resort. Cedar Fair always speaks highly of our park and it's potential and they seem ready to unlock it's potential fully!
  14. Think of it this way, you'll probably see an increase in the premium parking spots where they'll charge $40 for and then the hotel taking up the north side. So the less expensive parking can go in a parking garage in the farthest south part where people can walk from there to the park making a higiher demand for premium parking spots. If the premium outlet mall could afford to build a massive parking garage, wonderland can afford one easily lol
  15. Looks like a Hotel location has appeared. A massive fence taking up about almost 20% of the parking lot has appeared with hard hat required signs being added today. Electrical work is occurring currently near this fenced off site in the employee lot and stakes have appeared for maybe a potential enter/ exit to the hotel parking lot. Again, this is all speculation but what else could this be used for.. The cars that rent out the parking space in winters have moved south in the lot as youll see in these pictures. orange is the fenced off location, the stakes are on the old employee entrance and the digging is occurring in the orange in the employee lot. It's electrical and plumbing. orange is the stakes, bulldozing/ digging for electrical and fenced off lot for potential hotel site. Yellow is markings in north side that resemble a possible parking garage format. stakes at old employee entrance stake in old unused employee parking lot stakes following the old employee entrance road and sidewalk all the way into the lot. more stakes in old lot old employee lot stake electrical/ plumbing work in old employee lot 20% of the parking lot fenced off now with construction signs and hard hat required signs with two portapotties added hard hats required sign added today fenced off area video-1511897965.mp4 cars moved to farthest south point of lot weird formation of markings in south end of lot next to Behemoths helix
  16. construction near the Skyrider plot/ Minebuster area where the signs that say "preparing for your future enjoyment" appeared and we saw signs of construction right near the end of the season. weird fence appeared in the rumoured resort location. Red Stakes on Jane streets side of the parking lot/ grass area. cars being stored on south side of parking lot weird fence appeared on North end of the parking lot where a rumoured resort is to be built. red stakes have appeared alongside the Jane street side of the parking lot. massive dirt pile beside Minebuster growing very large and a stake at the top of the dirt pile
  17. They're upgrading the catering area to a more Canadian theme and much more beautiful. Looks like theyre going to go full out as they remove tree's and fences. another update coming on construction of a rumoured 2019 coaster. upgraded model (canadianized)
  18. So they are moving the catering facilities over behind Splash Works for some odd reason.. the catering facilities being installed in Splash Works behind the scenes.. Old location of the catering facilties new location of the catering facilities
  19. ALL these pictures were taken from a DJI drone OFF of Wonderland property. I have zoomed them in and edited them to try and make the blur from zooming less of a blur but some are still blury. Land clearing has occurred behind action theatre, Minebusters turnaround, and a construction trailer has been put in the old Skyrider area. bulldozing/ tree removal behind Action Theatre more budozing behind Minebuster and tree removal construction trailer has been put in Skyriders area. (look at the pathway headed towards minebusters entrance)
  20. Sorry, yeah someone on CWMania had pointed that out too me over there. Sorry, I had never seen it in action and it is right next to where the new flat rides are going so I assumed it was a wood chipper.
  21. Last Day of operations update: Removal of lamp posts in the SKyrider area, fence removal, music speakers were removed, more tree's marked for removal and paint markings/ better angles. We also have what looks like a potential footer. Area's with construction activity area now including what looks to be a footer Tree's marked for removal (my guess is about 100 tree's marked) machine parked under a "hidden" tent in the construction area As you can see, the markers and tree removal tags span a large land area all surrounding Skyriders old plot of land. From Timberwolf/ White water canyon area to Vortex area all the way to Windseeker area and Splashworks/ Minebuster. more markers, from Water markers, to electrical markers to red/ orange which tends to mean attention or dig here. fence on Windseekers side of pond marked for removal All fences removed, lamp posts coming down and speaker systems removed along with Tree's. markings on pathway between White Water Canyon and Timberwolf Falls fence removal between Timberwolf Falls and White Water Canyon along with markings and small holes speakers/ electrical removed workers removing electrical and lamp posts everything is being removed from the area and what looks like to be a footer surrounded by markings.
  22. Pretty big update on lot of movement in Skyriders plot of land and land surrounding the area. The forest next to Timberwolf Falls is now completely marked up with remove tags on the trees, markers and stakes. They keep moving the path blockade up further and further preventing viewing. There's some weird digging occurring right near where the smoking area's used to be next to the lockers in splash works on the splash path. There's markers scattered across from Skyriders plot of land in splash works and there was some land grading done next to windseeker where the removed large stones from the soil and groomed the land. In that same area there's a ton of markers, a stake and the tree's are tagged for removal. There's markers on a ton of trees and aweird tarp contraption protecting some weird equipment in the area. This land coverage is massive now and they're starting extremely early for whatever this is with the VP of marketing already teasing for 2019. overall area's fenced off with construction tape and markers/ stakes. a massive yellow/ orange stake in the middle of the plot of land. possible station location? weird tarp contraption covering what looks like a machine. markers on the pathway leading into the white water canyon forest from the Skyrider plot of land along with digging up near the lockers across from Skyriders plot of land removing the fence along the Timberwolf Falls path and the tree's are marked for removal. tree's with orange markers stakes in the Timberwolf Falls forest pathway closed a lot closer now and new smoking area at the booth markers on the grass area's across the pond from Skyrider's plot of land tree's with orange tape on them across the pond from Skyriders plot of land red paint from Windseekers path all the way down to the fence at the pond the fence on windseekers side is marked for removal as well some land grading/ rock removal from the soil in the windseeker area across from Skyrider I love that the left the fence open so we could see the digging aha the splash path leading from Minebuster markers and stakes in the splashworks area's across from Skyriders plot of land more markers in splashworks stake on windseekers grass area across from skyrider new fence fencing off minebuster area from Skyriders old area
  23. First Update is the potential location of the teased Hotel. orange tags have appeared on the fencing around this area. There are 2 markers now and a orange stake int he middle of the plot of land that's vacant. orange marker along fencing. most the poles have them on it now. marker middle of the plot of land marked with orange stake
  24. Correct, the parks GM did tease this after the hotel and coaster expansion were let out of the bag. teasing for 2019
