  1. I doubt a cop would do that to a line cutter. the suspect probably did something much worse.
  2. If you experience airtime lasting more than 4 hours, you are visiting the international space station.
  3. Depends on the person. Lots of people ride normally and have no problem. I rode it 5 times in a row last week without doing anything and I did fine.
  4. If I were you I might avoid Goliath, the helix might cause problems if you have circulation issues. It (Goliath) did a number on me Sunday and I may have to avoid rides for a while. Tatsu's pretzel loop can be very intense as well. But none of us are doctors, so I'd talk to yours before going. Hope this helped! Try the hick maneuver. Fighter pilots do it to prevent blacking out. "When executing a "positive G" maneuver like turning upwards the force pushes the pilot down. The most serious consequence of this is that the blood in the pilot's body is also pulled down and into their extremities. If the forces are great enough and over a sufficient period of time this can lead to blackouts (called g-induced Loss Of Consciousness or G-LOC), because not enough blood is reaching the pilot's brain. To counteract this effect pilots are trained to tense their legs and abdominal muscles to restrict the "downward" flow of blood. This is known as the "grunt" or the "Hick maneuver", both names allude to the sounds the pilot makes, and is the primary method of resisting G-LOCs. 5. Check out the trip report of my very first visit to Knotts on the Knotts thread. I love the place. I went there because of this SFMM thread raving about Knotts.
  6. Today was my first visit to Knotts ever. WOW. Just wow. I love the place. I moved to California in 2003. I've been to Disneyland about 50 times. I've been to Magic Mountain about 30 times. I've always assumed that Knotts is just some tiny theme park not worth visiting. Then I heard really good things about Knotts on the TPR Magic Mountain thread, so I finally gave it a visit. On Priceline, I bid $50 for a 2.5 star hotel in Buena Park. By coincidence, Priceline gave me a night at the Knotts Hotel. I was very happy with it. The furniture is a little worn out, the walls are very thin, but overall I was happy with the room. I bought a discounted Knotts ticket at the hotel front desk. It allowed me to enter the park 30 minutes early. What a great theme park. I am really impressed. Of course, I visited it on a very uncrowded day, so that helped my impression. It's amazing how many rides they managed to fit into a small piece of land. I rode Silver Bullet. Nice ride but not unusual compared to other parks. Then I rode Xcelerator about 20 times in a row. Love the ride. Reminds me of Phul Thrahhtul at Magic Mountain. Saw a teenage girl puke BEFORE she got on the ride. Saw 2 cell phones fall out of riders' pockets at the top of the ride. Riding it 20 times was worth the price of admission. Rode all the major rides. Every ride was a walk-on except Iron Reef which was only a 10 minute wait. I managed to score 205,000 on Iron Reef during my first and only try which is a apparently a very good score. Maybe because I am an Army veteran??? I enjoyed every ride except Ghost Rider which was downright painful. I am glad it will be altered. Pony Express was adorable. The horses are adorable. I got on the ride at the last second and saw that the riders were ready to go but there was no seatbelts! lol I looked at the track and it looked pretty intense, but there I was mounted on a horse with no seatbelt. I was relieve to finally witness us getting locked in. What a cool ride. I rode it 5 times in a row. Xcelerator is my favorite ride, and my second favorite is Jaguar. I realize it is not a hardcore ride, but I really enjoy it. Just a nice relaxing rollercoaster. The only thing I ate was a funnel cake which was very good. I'll get the chicken dinner next time. I am sold. I love Knotts. I will get a season pass. I liked that they double check the ride restraints by having 2 people check it. They really have their crap together, but then, it is America's first theme park, so this is not their first rodeo.
  7. I can't bet any money. I lost it all in the stock market this week. Just kidding. I'll let you know tonight how the crowds were.
  8. I'm going to assume the park will be close to a ghost town (Pun MAY BE intended ). Schools just started not that long ago and it's a Wednesday. You should be golden! Have fun! Thanks, I went to magic mountain yesterday, and every ride wasa walk on so I'm hoping for the same at knotts
  9. sitting in my knotts hotel room right now. Going to visit Knotts for the first time in my life today. HopIng crowds will be low
  10. it was awesome. normally, I use the single rider each time, but yesterday, they let me stay in my seat which allowed me to ride without interruption. twice, I saw 2 women who almost didn't ride because they were INCREDIBLY terrified. One of them was totally frozen in her seat even though the ride was over. People were leaving their seats but she just sat there with her head down as if someone beat her up. One of the lex employees told me she only rode it once in her life because she is afraid of heights which I found very interesting. The employees were very friendly and enthusiastic about my lex marathon.
  11. I got them back! Kinda surprised I only had to wait a half hour after the park closed. I highly recommend this money belt. i put my car key in it. It's like a very thin fanny pack that goes under your clothes so nobody knows you are wearing it... money belt image Just search for "money belt" on ebay
  12. today's visit continued. ... rode goliath 6 times without having to get back on line. rode lex 35 times in a row. rode tc 4 times. rode phul thrahhtal 4 times. Then checked into knotts hotel. I visit knotts park tomorrow for the first time in my life.
  13. was at the park today, every ride was a walk on. It was heaven. 1.5 parking areas were filled. The last time I saw 1.5 filled, it was busier, so I guess today each car had fewer people. I saw a lot of kids so I guess lots of parents pull out their kids from the first week of school.
  14. don't spoil my one little victory. I like to store my belongings in Lahkerrz
  15. Disney and Knott's are open year round. Or see the Space Shuttle Endeavor at the Los Angeles Science Center.
  16. Hard not to prefer a coaster that rides the same structure twice. If anyone is at the park today, please let us know how are the crowds.
  17. Thanks guys. I am very happy to hear that motorcycle parking is shaded.
  18. I have a small motorcycle that is very easy to steal because it so lightweight. Is it safe to park it in the Magic Mountain parking lot? Do you think they will let me chain it to a post or something?
  19. If it's free, go straight to the turnstyles. If it is just discounted, buy your friend's ticket at the ticket cashier.
  20. lol yeah. Honestly didn't care because it was hot. Wanted the ice mostly instead of just drinking from the water fountain. Ice is nice, but I don't need ice, so I bring an 8-ounce plastic disposable cup (the kind you get in hotels) and fill it at water fountains. It's a lot easier to drink a lot of water this way. Or if you buy a small soda, drink it, and use the empty cup at the water fountain to get very hydrated.
  21. Thanks, aallen. Chance of rain all next week too.
