  1. I went to high school with one of the guys who stole Tiny back in '94 (we went to Gurnee's Warren Township H.S). No joke. His name was Bill. Quite a feat right there on interstate 94. I don't think this is truly the end of Tiny. I've been skeptical while talking with my wife about it. Huge PR stunt by the park. Undead Tiny coming in a couple weeks?
  2. New SF Gold Pass next year! Free upgrade if you buy 4 or more passes and process at the park before 10/28! Free parking at SFGAm and all SF parks, daily early entrance! Payment plan and 4-pack discounts also discussed: http://content.sixflags.com/news/greatamerica/2013-season-pass-on-sale Assuming the free upgrade is only going to happen this year, I like it! Good way to get people hooked on it for future years and out for Fright Fest.
  3. It looks like the top paper reads "Marketing Professionals" and under that "Marcon" or "Marcom." There is a Marcon Marketing company out of Kansas City, and a Marcom marketing company in Virginia. Could just be the group who developed this campaign for the park.
  4. The Raven, Holiday World. Wonderful night ride!
  5. We are going to HW for the first time next week. Sounds like Mammoth gets a crowd quickly being new, but I know its capacity is a bit higher than that of Wildebeest. So, what would be the better, more efficient plan of attack when the waterpark opens for the morning, Mammoth then Wildebeest, or Wildebeest then Mammoth? We only have one day in the park, so we're trying to avoid long lines as best as possible. We will probably not use the single rider line due to our large fanily. Thanks in advance for any input!
  6. Believe it or not, we skipped them because we ate lunch on the way to the park and the park closed before we grabbed dinner. I saw people eating something out of a Fritos bag with a fork at that stand that looked interesting. Taco salad maybe?
  7. We just went to IB two weeks ago with the kids and had a good time. The bathrooms look nicer on the outside with newer paint than our previous visit a few years back. The place is basically a ghetto carnival with some fun coasters and the location is nice, but one can never expect too much going in. Thankfully all the coasters were operating well this time. It's fun for a day and hope it can survive. The Double Shot tower does have a harness in addition to the seatbelt, to answer a previous post. I felt safe. Great location for that on the water.
  8. I was in front of a woman in the Whizzer queue today who called it X-Factor. I had to bite my tongue. At least she caught her error and said it correctly a few minutes later.
  9. I have not had the problems with the restraints others are talking about. I wonder why some people are having different experiences than others. Viper was definitely running great when we went a few weeks back. I mentioned it to my daughter mid-ride!
  10. Thanks for the report! Consistently good things coming in so far about it! Glad it is exceeding expectations. Yeah, I thought comparing it with Batman was a bit apples to oranges, myself, but I read someone saying the pacing was good like Batman's.
  11. And having riden neither of them..... X-Flight is pretty forceful. It didn't knock your socks off, but the elements were so well paced, you don't really have time to sit and wait for the next one. I wouldn't say disorienting at all, unless maybe you're at the back of the train and you can't see where you're going really well. They've got a winner. Feels faster than some thought it looked, then, it sounds like?
  12. Reports coming in are that the ride is quite intense, the pacing surpasses that of B:TR, and it's disorienting until the keyhole. Doesn't let up until the end. Sounds like we may have a winner.
  13. A rider at commercial filming day said there were forces in the closing helix.
  14. Warning! Warning! Danger, Will Robinson! If you look closely, it's surrounding the opening to the keyhole element as well. I like it.
  15. It looked a lot slower going through the inversions while testing yesterday than on the POV, but it might just be a matter of perspective.
  16. Watching X-Flight testing with water dummies only on it yesterday, a woman near me said to her boyfriend, "Look, there are people on it!" Sure, and I suppose all that screaming was coming from those headless, legless, armless dummies.
  17. It is a stunning coaster to see in person. The placement right on the midway is perfect. Can't wait to ride it this weekend.
  18. Yeah, I posted this link on Friday, if you look back a couple pages. Cool video, isn't it?
  19. So awesome! I really can't wait for the 12th. All of the little touches are amazing! The fog, the water, that tight squeeze/head chopper after the tower. Amazing. It looks like it's taking some of the elements pretty fast, too. I was hoping the hangar would be more than just a facade, but can't complain too much.
  20. Full POV, including reverse angle! I can't wait! http://www.chicagotribune.com/videogallery/69761990/News/Soar-with-the-X-Flight-wing-coaster
  21. We won't make it until Sunday. Kids have sporting events all day Saturday.
  22. It looks like the Queue is goes right through the Keyhole. That was the plan! Should be fun waiting in line for it!
