I understand why they put the boardwalk where they put it due to high traffic, but could they not wait and make it a larger entity somewhere else, say the golf course they purchased? I'm sure it will be a wave pool, but a drop tower would be awesome too!

I could imagine a wild mouse or something. It'd be a good stress reliever! Unless they contact Vekoma for the coaster...

Being sick in Orlando sucks, but you're right, you gotta stick it out and not go home (or to the hotel). Lots of medicine became my friend when I got sick - made the rides a bit better too. Luckily I got sick towards the end of my trip. Great trip report.

It's actually made of steel bolted to the foundation of the house. It looks like a normal walk-in closet, except for the massive steel door.

Aloha! The zoo is coming along quite nicely. The facade for the lion/tiger show has been altered. Looks better now, I think. Hippos will be swimming here in the future. Whoa, looks like they're already here! The zoo is using some saved trees from Hawaiian Escape. The zoo is going to have a Latin-American-themed entrance building. Check back soon for more!

Wow. No. Why would anyone want to scrap Monty? The whole point of this thread is the issue of Cedar Fair is ruining Knott's by removing classics rides and the like. Yeah, you're right. Especially since it's a compact ride. But I still think Boomerang, Timberland Twister, and Jaguar could all be removed.

I have to conduct a survey for a research paper I'm writing. Do you feel safe riding rollercoasters? A simple yes/no answer will do here. If no, describe the time where you did not feel safe. Has your health ever been an issue when riding a coaster? You can go into detail here if you'd like. Thanks for the help. I'm dividing half of the people surveyed between the "GP" and coaster enthusiasts. Should be interesting.

^ While the trashcans can become repetitive, I don't think they are the park's biggest issue. I think the overall atmosphere guests were once used to has now been replaced by Cedar Fair Corporate-ness. The park continues to add new coasters (why two in a row, I'm not sure) while letting others fade away (literally with Xcel). Cedar Fair's goal isn't to preserve the past, I don't think they've ever said that, but I think when you've got a park like this that has alot of history, you can try and preserve what all you can, but in the end - you have to do what's going to bring in the money. I love this park and want it to succeed, but I think it needs a change in direction.

^ Yeah, and the park could open up a bit by removing about half of their coasters. Keep the newer ones while scrapping older ones like Montezooma, Boomerang, Jaguar, and Timberline Twister. I know this isn't too feasible but I think Knott's could really go in another direction if they wanted. But then again it's all about the money! Sort of a side note, but is there any way for Knott's to expand in size in the future? I know they're blocked in but the parks can do some crazy things to get more land.

I wish Herschend could somehow grab this park. I think they could manage to turn it around. It's my favorite of the Cedar Fail parks.

Update Year 1 - Grand Opening Hola! Estamos abierto! Guests began arriving three hours before the ribbon-cutting ceremony! Passes for the grand opening had been sold out for about a year so we knew it was going to be packed! But I couldn't take photos of the grand opening because I was... well... working. Most of the rides had long lines all day. Mas, pronto!

I've had a couple close calls but nothing too serious. When we built an addition onto our house a few years back we built an above-ground storm shelter. As long as I'm home when they hit I'm alright.
