  1. I found Tidal Wave to be a better-than-average Boomerang, which isn't saying much. But these rides should be sponsored by the makers of Advil, or perhaps local chiropractors.
  2. The word filter has wrecked your haiku! ^I think there's "talk" but, unfortunately, no action.
  3. ^I agree with Larry--GASM was hardly a popular ride. I remember Joey and I actually using a Qbot to get our GASM credit a few years ago, and it actully took longer to get on the ride using the bot than it did to wait in the regular queue.
  4. Larry, your trek and day at Skyline Park would be a great setup for a new horror movie along the lines of "Saw" or "Hostel."
  5. ^That's too bad--still a great park, though.
  6. As I recall there was a building in the center of the area where mine train and Pyrenees are located--there was a seating area on the roof, and the Musical Circus entrance was under it. The white building to the left of the pirate ship.
  7. Hmm--I think the Nutcracker ride is a redress of the old Sparkling Carinval Ride, but after checking out the park's Web site, it does appear that Musical Circus has been changed, too. Anybody else have any info on this? Thanks for the look at Parque Espana. It's an excellent park, and I had a great time there with TPR a few years ago.
  8. Oops! I withdraw my recommendation.
  9. ^^TPR events are great--sign up, and I'm sure you and the rest of the family will have a great time. It could even be profitable if the eight year old is willing to charge other coaster enthusiasts to help them get the elusive Taxi Jam credit.
  10. Boy, are you in for a . . . er . . . "treat." Front row is best, and the loop is pretty good. The rest, wel-l-l-l-l . . .
  11. I'd love to check out Saw, because I like Eurofighters in general (haven't ridden a bad one yet). I've heard some similar complaining about Mystery Mine, but I recall but one "bad spot" in the whole ride.
  12. ^Thanks, Robb--glad to see that everybody got to get that somewhat elusive credit.
  13. Just out of curiousity, is the Wild Cat in the update a different coaster from what used to be there in 2006? I recall another "Wild Cat" being out of commission during the 2006 trip, which was probably just as well as that thing looked like it was going to fall apart any second. RCDB lists the original "Wild Cat" as gone (and shows a picture of empty footers), but the one in the update looks like the same ride with a different entrance.
  14. Amen to motorway services in the UK. If you don't care for Burger King, Pizza Hut, or Wimpy's, there's usually a great market/deli where you can score a good sandwich. They need to adopt this concept in the states (other than in Maryland and on the Jersey Turnpike). As as for people being "underwhelmed" by the bonus park, I recall something an old friend of mine used to say to any unappreciative person: "So, whaddaya want--egg in your beer?" (No, it doesn't make a lot of sense, but seems to sum up the situation perfectly.)
  15. Everytime I look at these UK updates, and the Europe stuff that's being posted, I regret more and more not being able to make it this year. (The water park ERT looked especially great.) Well, Mid-America awaits!
  16. "Hello? Is this Moe's Tavern? I"m looking for a guy named 'Wang,' first name 'Lon.'"
  17. I rode it for the first time at WCB and thought it was fun--but I wouldn't wait more than 10 or 15 minutes for it.
  18. Maybe they're going to remove it and put Mr. Six's coaster up there instead. Now that would be truly Bizarro.
  19. Shall we send Joe a sympathy card for missing out on Olympia Looping? Hell, I should send myself a sympathy card. That day at the fair looked great.
  20. ^I'd wondered about the capstan, too--seems odd to have a hatch right next to it.
  21. The Dapper Dans at Disneyland won a bag 'o' crap?
  22. Sounds like the recipe for a particulary interesting martini.
  23. You can say it here:http://themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=54210 This is the second time you've been warned about posting a pointless KD discussion thread. Please review our Terms of Service before posting again.
  24. Even with the rain, I still rode Tornado four or five times--the world needs more Intamin inverts. I really liked their goofy/gory ghost train, too. Overall, it was a very good day. This was my first ride on a Volare, too--this is the coaster the Spanish Inquisition would've built if they had the technology.
