  1. Personally, I think Wildebeest is the best ride period at Holiday World, and being as it draws a huge line, adding another water coaster with more capacity makes sense. I hope Water Country in Williamsburg installs a ride like this someday.
  2. I remember that somethng had to trigger it to "pop out." Maybe it isn't there anymore.
  3. As I recall, the haunted house has some sort of psychotic cat demon, which made me feel right at home. Thanks for clearing up the "what color is White Psyclone?" controversy. Now if we could only figure out who's buried in Grant's Tomb.
  4. Here's a video of the song "Welcome to my Nightmare," which is taken from a late 1970s TV special (gotta love Vincent Price). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iQE0pfBAYQ8
  5. Good to see Alice is going to be invloved this year--Welcome to My Nightmare and Billion Dollar Babies were two of my favorite albums in high school.
  6. ^You won't be "assigned" to a group. Think of it as an opportunity to meet some good people. When I went on TPR's 2006 UK Trip, I didn't know anyone outside of their posts on the boards. But I had no problems finding people to hang out and ride with all during that trip. We're a pretty welcoming bunch. We don't bite (well, maybe only out of affection). This is going to be one hell of a Bash!
  7. I'm glad that TPR finally had a decent day at Fuji Q, but the park still has a low "batting average." Great pictures, Hanno--especially of Dodonpa (a ride I sort of liked).
  8. Good to hear that Wooden Warrior is exceeding expectations. I need to try out these Timberliners someday.
  9. I guess I'm old-school BGW, when it was still The Old Country of years back; for me, a drop-tower just doesn't quite fit my memories, if that makes any sense. Of course, getting in Geist Almighty back in 97 did start to change the skyline; Griffon more so. I can see your point- but my memories I guess are still lingering on a bit more than they should... I'm that way about Knott's Berry Farm and Silver Bullet, although Xcelerator doesn't bother me--go figure. I've lived in Williamsburg since the mid-1980s, and it has been interesting watching the park evolve since then.
  10. ^I disagree. I think that Mach Tower is actually pretty attractive as such structures go, and fits Oktoberfest because it looks like a giant Maypole (I also like the color scheme). How is it any more intrusive than, say, Griffon?
  11. . . . and all the air conditioning. Parque Espana is great, as are your photos of it, Hanno.
  12. I'm in--how can I pass up a TPR Bash that includes a Halloween event? This has been my Year of Bashes--West Coast, New Texas Giant, East Coast, Deep South, and now BG Tampa!
  13. ^^Actually, closer to two months, since Mach Tower was originally scheduled to open over Memorial Day weekend. I agree that last year was an "off" one for HOS (although two friends of mine who had never attended HOS in the past liked it). It does sound like they're shaking things up a bit more for this year.
  14. So, we're getting EBFPT in addition to ERT? Excellent!
  15. Works in Explorer, too. Very cool!
  16. Deep South Bash is just sounding better and better--thanks!
  17. The "Chairlift of Death" is, indeed, kind of scary--but it sure saves you some walking.
  18. "Backo-Drafto!" Great pictures of a great park--my favorite in Japan next to the Disney parks.
  19. I have a photo from last year of some guy in a shirt with a slogan that violates TPR's "PG-13" standard. You sure see all sorts of strange critters at Indiana Beach (and that's just the guests).
  20. ^This should be Larry's official theme song.
  21. Love the "dead raccoon" picture. I recall that the Haunted House has a rather odd smell to it back in 2007; then again, I did walk through it behind Barry.
  22. ^I hope they have better luck with Zirer. I'm not against new companies trying to break into the "big ride" business, but it's always a pain to be someone else's guinea pig.
  23. ^^"Has a line" doesn't always indicate "good ride." Stand-up coasters are usually slow to load, so the line builds up.
  24. This is already being discussed in the Dollywood thread: http://themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=1064549#p1064549.
  25. ^You might want to consider Quick Queue, as well. Even though it will be outrageously hot this Saturday, I imagine that the park will still be quite busy--and the Roman Rapids will probably have a ridiculous line.
