  1. ^Klassy is as Klassy does. If you're gonna go, go Klassy!
  2. ^Yes: http://www.kingsdominion.com/what-s-new/new-fast-lane. For those of you who live under rocks during the off-season. Volcano is part of Fast Lane.
  3. I'm curious to see how the new "outdoor" version of the old Festhaus show will go over. It sounds like a good opportunity to add more color and atmosphere to Oktoberfest. They've been playing around with this since last season--for example, with the Maypole dancers and a small "oompah" band behind the pretzel bakery. Besides, you can always get a sausage pretel dog and a beer at the bakery, then scarf and guzzle outdoors while watching the band.
  4. ^Get there early. Ride it first. That is all you need to know. It's a short, but fun ride. The two launches are great.
  5. Firestorm from "This Is Oktoberfest" fans to commence in 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 . . . They really have made some interesting enhancements to Oktoberfest over the last couple of years, and linking the new show to Verbolten is a good idea.
  6. I cruised on Mariner of the Seas and thought it was great. My only cruise experience has been with RCCL.
  7. I highly recommend Blizzard Beach. It has a good mix of "thrill" and "family" rides, and the theming makes it enjoyable even for those who don't care for waterparks. The lazy river is particularly good.
  8. Desperadoes is one of those underappreciated gems--a great "shoot-em-up" simulator.
  9. "Good Eats" should be the name of the next Carnival ship.
  10. ^^Oh, gawd, I remember those ads, too. But nothing says "Klass" like Telly.
  11. You know, this thread is reminding me of something . . . Because Telly was such a Klassy Guy. He'd be the king of this ship within seconds! Women (or "broads," as he'd call them) would be at his feet, fulfilling his every desire. He'd snap his fingers and, POW, fried chicken and Bud Light for everyone! Yes, everywhere from the Carnival Ecstacy to . . . Duluth, it's all about Telly.
  12. From the looks of that "protein spill," you might want to avoid chicken pot pie if it's one the menu tomorrow. You'll know for certain if the mess is cleaned up by a cook instead of a maid.
  13. Yeah, that fried-chicken platter is a far cry from what you get on Royal Caribbean. Is there a Waffle House on board?
  14. From Jake's Facebook page: Does each stateroom come with its own puppet theatre?
  15. As far as I know, Verbolten doesn't even have seatbelts, so can we please keep this on topic? No sense in confusing things here. Thank you.
  16. ^Well, that does make it more "realistic" looking.
  17. I'm looking forward to seeing how BGW runs Verbolten. They're pretty good about running three trains per coaster on busy days (and single-train operations are very rare).
  18. Even the old version of Spider-man was the best ride at Universal, and I'm glad they've decided to make it even better (yes, I do prefer it to the Harry Potter ride, as good as it is).
  19. I just figured it's another TPR inside joke, with no one actually believing in it. Although I would be curious to see how the whole 'Aquatrax!' joke started... Yes. It's a joke that is beaten to death that always seems to rise like a zombie from the grave to shamble around a bit from time to time.
  20. The video makes me a little more interested in this ride. I like the little "flip" it does when it goes through the "tower."
  21. What? Ya got a train-and-trolley fetish, or something? It'll be good to see all those construction walls come down at last. Radiator Springs is looking great.
  22. Good to see that they're following through on the theming now--it looks great.
  23. Are you talking about Desperadoes here? Something like that would be perfect for Ghost Town.
  24. It was mentioned during the tour that Verbolten's capacity would be around 1,400 riders per hour. Each train has 9 cars with 2 seats each, making 18 riders per train. Have a look at some of the Disney coasters, they run 5+ trains pretty much all the time and also so did Schwarzkopf's Olympia Looping! It was mentioned during the tour that Verbolten's capacity would be around 1,400 riders per hour.
  25. This is an active construction site, too--can't really expect it to be squeaky clean.
