  1. ^ It's a police bus-type transport for criminals.
  2. ^ So you were one of the officers that made us go in the paddy wagon! It was so funny, my group didn't want to go in there, they were all pretty scared!
  3. ^^After Hours was a lot of fun! The coat room/body room was great! And I love the floating heads room from last year- good scares! Where in After Hours do usually work? I I thought everyone did a great job! ^ Any drops on a coaster for Kevin, are a "plummet of doom"! The biggest coasters he will go on are Space Mountain & Revenge of the Mummy.
  4. Here is a link to my Phobia event review from last year. I don't have any plans on visitng Phobia this year. I will stick just to HOS and HHN. Hope the review helps. http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=19529&highlight=phobia
  5. Chuck, it is going to be a blast! You are going to love HOS at BGA. And the Wild Maus, I mean Cheetah Chase looks forward to seeing you again! I can't believe it is in less than 2 weeks!
  6. Hi everyone! Last night Kevin, myself and a group of awesome peeps checked out our first Halloween event for the season, Howl-O-Scream at Busch Gardens Africa. We had a blast! Great job to everyone that worked the event, many of you gave us some good scares! Going on a Thursday night is the only way to go to Howl-O-Scream! We walked into all 6 haunted houses and rode all the rides without any wait. We did have to wait 5 minutes for Cheetah Chase and Shiekra, but we didn't mind. The haunted houses were very long! Club Muse was our first house of the night and really set the mood! This house had great scares and seemed to go on forever! Everyone loved the new house for this year: Trapped In The Walls, lots of good scares! The Hunted, like last year was fantastic had some fun surprises! We didn't get to see any of the shows but did do all the scare zones which were a lot of fun! Here is my ranking of the houses & scare zones from favorite to least. Haunted Houses: 1. Trapped In The Walls 2. Club Muse 3. The Hunted 4. Deathly Departed 5. Freaked! 6. The 3rd Demntia Scare Zones: 1. Zombie Junction 2. Restless Death 3. Pharoh's Revenge 4. Wicked Woods 5. Bone Grinders Onto the photos, enjoy! These hotties enjoyed their night at HOS. L-R Heather, Ashley, Janette and Lynn. It was so nice to be able to stay on Guazi for a few rides without getting off. Ashley and I got some major air time on Guazi! We all loved Guazi at night! Except maybe Heather. Ashley thought this old ghostly-grizzly man was HOT! Daryl made a new friend, his name was Death! Our group met a new large monster friend. Kevin's favorite part of Cheetah Chase is "the plummet of death" go figure! This is the only coaster at Busch Gardens Kevin and I can ride together! (Kevin is not a big coaster fan, but loves Cheetah Chase!) Janette, Ashley, Daryl and Heather are ready to conquer Cheetah Chase! Awh, aren't we cute! Ashley loves being stuck in the middle of a sandstorm! Heather and Daryl are so ready for the breezy Sandstorm. My first up-sidedown credit, the Scorpoin. Ray, Lynn, Daryl, Heather Oliva and me. Heather, go stand next to the nice psycho guy and victim! From L-R: Daryl, Heather, Oliva and Lynn. And a ride on the always awesome Montu! From L to R: Janette, Ashley, Ray and me. After our first 2 heart pounding haunts of the night it's time to take a relaxing stroll through Egypt. L-R:Daryl, Heather, Ray, Ashley, Janette, Lynn and Kevin. Lots of fog set's the mood for the evening! Here's our TERRORiffic group: L-R: Daryl, Heather, Me, Janette, Lynn, Ray, Kevin, Ashley, & Olivia. Like when Lynn and I got separted from our group and stummbled upon this guy in pieces. Freaked! was a lot fun and had a few surprises! So Kevin and I conquered another year at HOS. I can't wait, cause I will be returning on the 21st! Till then Kev and I are ready to crash! Thanks for reading! Our group rocked! I think everyone had a spine-tingling-great time! Janette and I had a blast at HOS!
  7. I think too many people complained that the Tampa Typhoon was too painful. Riptide is more of a all around attaction that the whole family can experience, but still thrilling at the same time. I never got to go on the Key West Rapids when it had the interlocking tubes. I belive the main reason why the Key West Rapids is closed a lot of time depends on the time of year. We typically go during off season. A lot of time The Key West Rapids, Water Moccasin, and the part of the Rambling Bayou that goes through the rain forest are closed. I figure it is not crowded enough, so the park doesn't have to staff all of those attractions on that side of the park. The Key West Rapids alone takes about 5 lifeguards to staff. On Sat. all three slides on the Water Moccasin including the middle one were open. I agree the waterfalls on the way to the Runaway Rapids flumes were very cool. I just hate the way you have to go all the way around the world just to get up to them. (There used to be a walk way through the slide's splash pool that you had to walk through to get to the entrance way to the slides). I wish the rainforest greenhouse-builing that the Rambling Bayou goes through still had the fog, mist, and little waterfalls working. I'am assuming it probally wasn't that safe and hard for lifeguards to watchout for guests in that part of the bayou. The Baratuba used to be my favorite slide of all time. When I was kid I ride that thing a gazillion times over and over.
  8. I'm glad you had a good day at the park. I miss Canobie Lake so much! This was my childhood park growing up before I moved to Florida when I was eight. I used to spend so many trips riding the Flume, Tilt-A-Whirl, The Mirror Maze and Turkish Twist! The Yankee Cannonball was one of my first coasters ever growing up. The first being the Flyer Comet at Lincon Park. Those were the days.
  9. ^ Thanks I agree, Wahoo Run could use a fresh coat of paint, it is kind of faded. You didn't miss anything not riding the Tampa Typhoon. The Typhoon was a back breaker!
  10. The Key West Rapids were closed today. But all three of us have been on it many times. I agree it is a unique ride and a lot of fun. Lynn and I hit The Everglides, a favorite of mine since I was kid. I always forget how steep that slide is till I'm on it! Here Lynn and I enjoying the Everglides. Wish waterproof cameras had zoom lenses.
  11. So today Kevin, our friend Lynn and I took a day to cool off and have some fun at Adventure Island. Like all the Florida parks, AI was very slow. Longest wait was about 10 minutes for Wahoo Run. Not to bad. I did notice that BGA looked really crowded from the parking lot. About 90% of the lot was full! Maybe it had to do with our cooler and nice weather today- no rain and a super cold 90 degrees! We all agreed that Riptide was a good addition to the park, a lot of fun. So here are the pics, enjoy. Kevin and I agree, we could spend hours relaxing and crusing down the Rambling Bayou. I am glad AI is my home water park, it is like a little piece of paradise in the middle of Tampa! Kevin loves to float along the tropic setting. Thank goodness it was just a fluke! This is what happens after you become demonic, the bayou trys to swallow you whole! Poor Lynn. The bayou has made Lynn demonic! Time to spend some relaxing time on the Rambling Bayou. Not a good place to be if you don't like water! We love Splash Attack! Like the waterfalls by the Runaway Rapids, all the water features on Splash Attack were working! Lynn is ready to give Aruba Tuba some love! As I already knew from doing this as a kid, Kevin and Lynn found out it is not easy doing the monkey bars/ cargo net thing when a small kid stops in front of you! As does Lynn. Kevin loves the Runaway Rapids. So I found that it is not easy to take a photo on Wahoo Run. Example: Trying to get a photo of Lynn. There is a 10 second moment of the ride that is in daylight. Wahoo Run is one our favorites in the park. Kevin and I are ready for our Wahoo Run adventure. Lynn and Kevin enjoy the old school waterfalls on the way to The Runaway Rapids flumes. This is the first time I have seen them running this summer. And for anyone that hasn't seen Adventure Island's new slide, here it is - Riptide.
  12. Just to let any Florida residents know, you can buy gift card HHN type tickets for all the HHN nights at Publix's. This is the first time I have ever seen a display with HHN gift cards. Buy & bring a 2 litter coke bottle or a six pack, they'll scan it when they activate the gift card. Then you'll get the FL resident discount price. Bring the card to the front entrance and your in.

  14. Thanks again everyone for all the info. Hopefully CP will bring back a dark ride tpe attraction in the future.
  15. An earthquake ride, interesting. Thanks Rich for the info. I wonder if the park will ever install a highly themed dark ride or shooting ride in the future.
  16. Thanks Nicole for all of the research! When I was there in 2003, I kind of thought that area of the park looked like it might have housed a dark ride at one time, but wasn't sure. Thanks for the info and pics.
  17. I just got an email yesterday from Disney saying the preview for Disney Passholders will also be held Oct 13-15th from 9-9. Passholders may bring up to 3 non-passholder friends.
  18. I was thinking about how big and cool Cedar Point is. They have a pretty good collection of roller coasters, flats and a few water rides. This got me thinking, has Cedar Point ever had any dark rides? It seems like a big park like Cedar Point would have at least one dark. I'm sure in the past they have had a least one. I guess after visiting Blackpool, which has a good mix of rides and a bunch of darks got me wondering. If they have had one, what was the theme and does anyone remember where it's location in the park was?
  19. I agree with what has been said. I have gone every year since 94' with the exception of 01'. I started doing the express pass the last 4 years, it is well worth it. If you don't do the stay and scream and want to see everthing, make sure you get to the event at least an hour before the schedulle opening time. I have found with an express pass, that if we just make a circle and hit all the haunted houses and rides as you come to them, you can see everything at lease once without any stress. This way also saves your feet from getting too tired from back tracking too much. But if you want to see everything a few times then take the advise from the previous posts and try to do the stay and sream option. Either way, try to get your express pass early.
  20. I sent my deposit for the Midwest Trip on Monday.
  21. ^ Hey Chuck! Next month is going to be a blast! Not to much longer till your down here!
  22. Saw the show "Rent" last Sunday at the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center in Tampa. No matter how many times I see the show or movie, I still love it.
  23. ^LOL! I totally agree! I was so going to say something to that effect, but I went with the boring caption!
  24. Thanks guys. ^You shouldn't have to many lines. The parks usually stay pretty dead throughout Sept. In Oct. it gets a little bit busier. Orlando in Oct. is a popular desination for conventions. But still not super busy by any means.
  25. Final pics: On our way back to the hotel, we fought a bunch of families to have the luxurious front monorail seat! A cool finish to a great day. After a yummy dinner in Mexico we ended our day with the always cool Illuminations. Jeff and I were very happy about not waiting! Yes, a first for me only a ten minute wait for Test Track, which actually turned into a walk-on ride!
