  1. I couldn't agree more. I mean Im glad CP doesn't build short, weak, inexpensive coasters, simply for a record like other parks, but it would be nice to see something new in terms of a coaster. We all would love a new coaster, I mean who wouldn't. But these Improvements they are making are really needed. It's all about making the guest have the best time while on vacation. Thrill seekers are just a small percentage of people that come to the park. I'm sure a new coaster is right around the corner, but you'll just have to wait. (you've been doing great for the last 5 seasons, whats 1 or 2 going to hurt). Myself, I am very excited for this season, and the last time I was this excited was '07.
  2. They said it could take up to three years to paint the entire coaster
  3. I'm so stoked for this season I haven't looked forward to a season as much as this one since Maverick was being built. ( Had to add another one to show how excitedI am lol )
  4. That's roughly what SFGAM offers on their Flash Pass and that's just the regular one, where you still wait in a virtual line.http://www.sixflags.com/greatAmerica/tickets/flashpass.aspx Fast Lane allows you to skip the line all together.
  5. Some little progress on the lift. What do you guys think? (Don't mind the 3 tube track at the top. It was there to help me place nodes.) Best coaster ever-120225203746000.bmp Going up Best coaster ever-120225194658000.bmp This was taken in the middle of putting the nodes to see how it was turning out
  6. Wasnt it stated a few pages back that they will be running polythene/ nylon wheels to help quiet the ride. I Think that' s what they mean by Just my thoughts.
  7. I have been working on an Intamin hyper Twister ... Kind like Skyrush . Except mine can run 3 trains lol Best coaster ever-120223000040001.bmp Layout ... Twisty (sorry for the lack of detail, I need a new video card) Best coaster ever-120222235941000.bmp My favorite part of the ride.
  8. The rumor (I think it was actually stated by the park but I'm not entirely sure so I'm just going to stick with 'Rumor') that the park received theming that could not be safely installed w/o delaying the opening of the ride. So they waited till the park was closed for the season to put the theming up. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
  9. I felt this could of been an Intamin instead of a B&M epically the launch version. Theres only 2 things I would try to work on. 1. There are a few supports that just seem to spread out. The photo below will explain better what I'm talking about. 2. The trim on the hill after the launch/ drop kill the ride. Next time accommodate the elements after the Drop/launch to safely handle the high speeds or not have the drop so high/ slowdown the launch. Other then that I loved the low to the ground elements of the ride, and the supports for the trim hill. I also loved the colors, not the usual bright red and blue your used to. Move the footer in closer. In my opinion a lot of your supports just seem too spread out. epically for the low to the ground supports.
  10. The Cyrpt has reached the end of its service life.
  11. It looks like Kings Island is Painting their Invertigo the same as Dorney Park's http://twitpic.com/8jhgd3 Kings Islnd's Twitpic
  12. Now they just need to put some planters along the middle of that midway in my opinion.
  13. In my opinion this is great news. it will provide some great shots of that midway now.
  14. He was referring to the details of what the show was going to involve. All we know is that it will be called Luminosity, and it might include the Giant Wheel in the show some way. It was confirmed that a new show was coming in mid Jan.
  15. Most coasters are one of a kind in terms of Layout except a few for example Slc, Cyclone layout, Batman, boomerangs, superman flyers, etc...
  16. Skyrush isn't suppose to open till Memorial day weekend
  17. Me and a friend were discussing what the guards on the front of the trains on the insides seats are for, and why they are not on any other row/ seats. Do any of you perhaps know why they are there? They also appear on Raptor's trains too. Just curious.
  18. This reminds me of when Cedar Point didn't close on Columbus Day weekend. People were pissed that they didn't, seems like parks cannot win when it comes to this situation.
  19. ^ Proximity switches are the green little boxes in the middle of the track. They tell the computer system that the right amount of cars have cleared a Block/ section of track. The lasers are known as Photo eyes and they tell the computer system that there is a train in that block section.
  20. From Knott's Facebook "Sky Cabin is open! Come on down and enjoy the amazing view!" It's Open !
  21. Leap the Dips at Lakemont, our car left the track b/c we had so much weight in the car lol. it was most horrifying yet one of my favorite moments on a coaster.
  22. An Empty train will go slower through magnetic trims then a full train of riders. there is no breaking in when it comes to magnets unless they are using an electrical magnet of course. In this case they are just using earth magnets on the train and some type of iron alloy for the trims. Also the number/ length of trims will cause the train to go faster/ slower through the course. wich could be what you are talking about w/ initial testing.
  23. Shockwave at SFOT is a Schwarzkopf just an FYI
  24. I cant wait to get mine =D sooo much stuff
