I don't even see why we are talking about seat belts being added to DB. The only thing I saw was a false rumor on some Carowinds form. I don't see why it needs to be brought up in conversation till there are some hard facts about it actually happening. -

Weather, weight of the riders on your train, and wear on the wheels all affect speed of the ride -

That poster is known for doing stuff like that. Kinda annoying if you ask me. But what more can you ask from a 13 year old kid. -

^ Exactly what happens, I've seen a few sections of Magnums Rails missing before for having cracks in them and some of them even had flat spots in them. -

First off I agree B&M as a company now doesn't need launches, They are doing very well. But Your statement about other company's variety in products have to disagree. If were talking about in terms of most offerings, I would give that to Intamin, Mack, and Zamperla They offer not just a variety of different coaster styles but as well as a huge selection of Flats. If you were talking just in coasters, Intamin or Vekoma would be my picks. According to there websites Vekoma has 10 different styles of coasters while Intamin has 26 styles (water coaster Included). but If you want to go off how the trains are set up like how B&M is then just for the sake of typing I'll write down the different styles of Intamin provides, Half Wing Style, Sitdown OTSR, Sitdown Lapbar, Spinning Coaster, Mine Train Coaster, Wing coaster, Half Pipe, Zach Spin, Wooden Coaster, AquatraX, Inverted, and Motobike. While not every single product hasn't had the success of B&M's products I don't see many people (enthusiasts and GP) wanting to go back to CP (for example ) For Raptor, Mantis, or Gatekeeper. So in terms of success differs whether your saying whose sold more or what people like. Not to 8 of the top 12 in Mitch hawkers 2012 steel poll were Intamin and 2 B&M or on the 2013 wooden coaster poll 3 in the top 10. -

His name is Walt, he's a really awesome guy. His knowledge on how to get each system to work just right is outstanding. -
I think showing how Cedar Point gets ready for each day and show how some of the most advance rides at their time came to be and how the operate. After working at the park it still amazes me at all the work that goes on behind the scenes as well as how Maverick and Dragster operate on a day to day basis.

Well, that's not the restraints fault, that's yours lol. we state and the ride signs state to keep you head back and hold on to the grab bar until the ride comes to a complete and final stop. We don't state it just for fun -

My best advice is just move with the ride.... aka lean into the turns, keep your head against the head rest, and instead of putting your hands up hold onto the grab bar. -

If (big if) it is a flying scooter, I could see it going in the old flight trainers spot. -

May I ask how not ridding 1 coaster out of the 25 rides they offer on FL not to mention the other 30 + attractions were not what you paid for. Were there any other rides you were not able to ride because of this? And to mention if they had stopped selling FL before you were allowed to purchase them would you of been upset and complained that they weren't selling enough? After all you did visit on one of the busiest days CP has during the summer season. Out of the major rides on FL this is the only that had an significant problem and the others their FL lines never got longer the 45 min. I'm sorry you guys had a bad time but just because I was not able to ride ONE ride more then once ( assuming like how most families visiting for the first time do or once a summer) would make me feel like I wasted my money. Now I will take this all back, if there is more to your story that you're not telling. But to me you're letting one problem dictate how that trip went. -

All I can say for this change is thank God. On some of the busiest days we had an hr and half Fast Lane line making the regular queue 3 + hrs it was horrible and always felt bad for the guests in the regular line. And on top of those guest complaning about the 3 hr line we had FL guest also complain at how long they were waiting. -

^^ To run enough trains (cars in polar coaster's case) you would need multiple MCBRs to allow multiple trains on the track. So for a polar coaster to be feasible (in a capacity sense) there will be multiple MCBRs like Rip Ride Rocket has. And I'm positive if any business is going to put up that much money for a polar coaster I bet they want more then 1 car on the track at a time. ^ The cost of that project for a seasonal park would be too costly IMO -
I know some employees will try to avoid the confrontation when walking down midway to tell people to put it out. But I've noticed people try to hide it on the midway from us by cupping it in their hand or when we do tell them to put it out they do so then once we are out of view they light it back up. My favorite times are when the are cupping it in their hand I saw them doing it and Ill stay in their view so until ash from the cigarette falls into their hand and makes them drop the cigarette. I then proceed to go tell them the Smoking policy and politely tell them to smoke in a designated area. My least favorite confrontation are the guests E-cigs and its hard to enforce the rule that those too need to be used in a designated area and there is no pamphlet or sign that says E-cigs are apart of the smoking policy. Because you'll get the guest that will argue that it isn't stated, that your making that up, and their is no way to get help (security, Supervisor, etc) to help explain that it is a rule.

Cedar point winter tour 2014
coasterkyle replied to thrillrider's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
This is done every off season. Every coaster car and several of the Flat rides vehicles are stripped down to their chassis and they do no destructive testing to see if there are any cracks in the chassis then they rebuild the cars and replace any part that needs replacing. -
