  1. Best (no particular order): Superman: Ride of Steel @ Six Flags America Batwing @ Six Flags America Volcano @ Kings Dominion Apollo's Chariot @ Busch Gardens Williamsburg Backlot Stunt Coaster @ Kings Dominion Worst: Shockwave @ Kings Dominion Wild One @ Six Flags America
  2. I cannot wait for Haunt at KD this year!! Last year was amazing, and I'm sure this year will be just good. I'm really glad they removed Big Top Terror, it was just a terrible maze. The Doll Factory and Camp KILLaUee sound promising, and The Asylum is just Maze of Madness "freshened up". Also, poor Valleyfair; they don't get anything new this year! Can't wait to see what King's Island and Canada's Wonderland do for Haunt this year!
  3. The haunt site is up. http://haunt.kingsdominion.com/ We've lost two mazes, gained two mazes, and have received several re-themes. One or two new shows as well.
  4. Absolutely stunning. Amazing job! I love the look of Delirium, it looks pretty insane and quite fun! What type of coaster is the Jet Coaster?
  5. Nicee!!! I'm definitely with some trees and stuff in the middle of the paths, not to mention the fences around the Enterprise. Also, the shuttle loop looks GREAT and I LOOOOOOOVVVVVVVEEEEEE the turtle theme!!!!!
  6. We ended up having to back out. We went to Busch Gardens last Wednesday and Kings Dominion the next day and my dad was so sore, he couldn't make the drive up to D.C. so we decided to just go to Kings Dominion on Sunday. So we're trying to decide whether we're going to go to Busch Gardens or SFA this weekend... but I'll be sure to let everyone know how things went when I finally go!
  7. ^ Well I know the wraparound corkscrew hasn't been used since, but I think a cutback (if that's the other one you're talking about) is on a coaster in Disneyland Paris. Not totally sure though.
  8. Not totally sure if you know about the vegetation tunnel by Grizzly (forgot the official name), but just in case, it was destroyed in the off-season by all the snow. They're rebuilding it, or at least, that's what Pagel said.
  9. Hey, this park is great, and I know a lot of people say this, but it's way better than anything I can do. But I do have some suggestions... 1.) You should name the Boomerang something Six Flags would name it... like "Mind Eraser", "Sidewinder", "Head Spin", or even just "Boomerang". 2.) Put some fences around the Enterprise ride please. It just looks pretty bad without it. 3.) Try and add some scenery to keep the paths from being so wide. If you're going to let peeps into the park, they're going to get lost so easily.
  10. Awesome! I just went today, they were absolutely packed. (and it was really, really hot) DarKastle had a full line, but strangely, we didn't have to wait line for any coasters. Griffon was maybe a 5 min wait and Alpengeist was 15 (because somebody threw up I believe). We got to Apollo at the right time, we only waited 5-10 min for it. When we got off the line had started to flow into the switchbacks. But yes, the park is missing something... it's like a cake that's missing a piece that somebody ate before the main course. It's sad, I really miss BBW. But hopefully, they'll replace it with a temporary haunt maze this year and maybe we'll see a new coaster in the next couple of years...
  11. I'm planning on going to Six Flags America on Saturday and hoping to go to King's Dominion on Friday, so if you still need pictures of Boo Blasters and Flying Ace, I'll try and get them, along with a picture of Rodeo's sign at SFA. For Boo Blasters, would a pic of the mansion exterior meet your needs?
  12. So, Saturday is when I'm supposed to be heading up there (didn't know they were going to be closed Tues-Fri this week ). What are the crowds usually like on Saturdays? Should I be expecting really long waits for Batwing and Superman (the two rides I'm looking forward to the most) or will it most likely be a short wait or even a walk-on? And I still am looking for a good place to eat in the park... Please help me out if you can!
  13. Exhausted after a fun day at the movies followed by mini-golf with my dad! I'm about to head to bed. I'm hoping we can head up to Busch Gardens tomorrow (or today, technically) as I don't think the crowds will be very heavy since it's Easter...
  14. Thanks for all of your suggestions so far! =D Would anyone be able to recommend a place to eat within the park?
  15. I just saw How To Train Your Dragon in 3-D today. I enjoyed it, it was a cool little movie. We (my dad and I) missed the beginning because of slow concession stand operations. The animations in the movie were amazing, the ocean looked real and there was a scene with ash falling from the sky and it looked real (unlike Avatar's 3-D which totally sucked). I think the worst parts to the movie were that A) it was quite predictable (though that does come with a kids' movie) and B) it was slightly preachy.
  16. locker = l.ocker (take away the dot) I don't know what happened or why it's happening... but it is.
  17. ^ Will the wasps bother you? Or is it just if you bother them, they bother you?
  18. So, I went Friday right after school with my dad. We left from my school right at 2:50 and got caught in traffic on the way to the park and we ended up having to take a different route. We ended up arriving close to 4pm and got out season passes processed. On our way to I305, we walked through Planet Snoopy to see the changes, and I must say, I'm not that impressed. Other than the fresh coats of paint, new signs, and the new bouncy castle thing, nothing has really changed. (note that we did completely forget to ride Boo Blasters on Boo Hill- did anybody ride it? if so what was it like?) We then headed into Congo and saw the huge crowds heading towards I305. I looked up into the sky and saw I305 looming in the distance and my heart just started pounding. When we got to Flight of Fear's plaza, we did notice that the outside queue was completely full and spilling out. I don't know if the inside queue was open though. We walked over to Intimidator and, well, the pictures of this monster really don't do it justice. The line was completely full (as it turns out, not THAT bad) and spilling out. We waited a few minutes and by the time we were actually at the entrance of the line, an attendant said it was a 30min wait from that point on. Ultimately it was about 45min, but still close. At the entrance to the station, the regular line and the single-riders line merged and another attendant was directing people to seats. We were strapped in and I was told I couldn't wear my glasses... I ended up being glad about this, read on to see why. When the train was clear, a recording said "GENTLEMEN, START YOUR ENGINES!", you would hear a motor start, and the train began to crest the lift. It climbs that thing extremely fast and you have no time to think about it. At the very top you just tip over and plunge down! It was amazing, it felt like I was flying! But then, it was ruined at the first turn where I completely grayed out and I thought I was dying. I totally had no idea what was happening mainly because it had never happened to me before. But going into the second hill all sight was regained. I don't remember much else of the ride other than that almost every transition HURT. It totally tosses you from side to side, and that's why I'm glad I didn't wear my glasses. They're already broken, so I305 would've destroyed them. Overall, I give I305 a 6.5/10. We're heading back later in the week (hopefully!) so I can re-ride it and know I'll gray out and also be prepared for transitions. After the ride, we wandered through Congo briefly. Volcano had a full line, as did Avalanche. The Crypt, however, did not. We headed down The Grove and stopped for a bit in the pizza place (can't remember the name) for a bite to eat. Drop Tower was full also. Shockwave, had it been open, would no doubt have had a line down to the Carousel. We headed over to Ricochet only to find the line there full too. So the two of us walked over to Old Virginia, finding there had been some work done on the vegetation over-head thing (again, the name slips my mind). I wish it hadn't been destroyed in the snow. I went to ride Grizzly but the line, shockingly, was backing out of the station down the ramp. So I skipped it and we walked through OVA and headed to White Water Canyon. We didn't ride, since my dad hates water, I didn't have a change of clothes, and the line was close to spilling out. By the way, does anyone know why the Log Flume is closed? Renovation, perhaps? So anyway, we headed to Dominator to find that Berserker was closed, most likely to clean up vomit or something. We lined up for Dominator (which probably had the shortest line of any coaster that day) but it broke down quickly. We bailed out and found that Berserker was up and running again, so I took a spin on it. Then we just a bought a few things and finally left. Sorry for the long report, thanks to anyone who actually read it!
  19. Hi, I was wondering if anybody has any tips for heading out to Six Flags America. My dad and I are both planning on going this week, and it will be our first time. So are there any suggestions you all may have? (We have purchased season passes since the prices were virtually the same as a one-day ticket.) Thanks for anything you may have!
  20. Hey, I'm new here, and I was just wondering if anybody had tips on how to build a custom Six Flags park? I always have trouble building them and run out of money quickly. (Also, I'm talking about using the in-game scenario)
