  1. ^^ KI already sued RCCA and put them out of business IIRC. Speaking of Taer it down, how bout Brun it down?
  2. ^ Ive seen an educational kiddie show on PBS a LONG time ago where they were explaining how they bend steel and build rollercoasters. I believe the show highlighted Arrow and the construction of Viper at SFMM although it never mentioned either. I've seen pics of Vipers construction and I can compare the pics to the background and foreground, coaster pieces, etc... of the show IIRC as when I seen this show, I was a little kid.
  3. ^^^ I am one of the few that would like to ride a SOB with no rose bowl ( airtime hills and a high turnaround instead) and the return of the loop. I also believe the premier trains were no where near as rough as those hurricane 5 G trains! Those G trains are what made SOB unbearably rough IMHO. The dimensions of the track are a little larger than your average woodie I believe, which is why the G trains suck even worse than the premier trains.
  4. Removing that huge sign seems like a lot of trouble to go to if they were planning to bring SoB back--especially when all they had to do was chain off or otherwise block access to the queue. We shall see. Chuck's right. SOB's been chained off for the past few years. Nothing has been said, but actions are louder than words! Yeah, but now they've actually removed the queue fencing for the first 25 feet or so and have it blocked off around the corner, so you can't see it from the midway. KI's Drachen Fire is a good term for it right now. Referring to an older post of mine, I wouldn't compare them because Drachen Fire was at the back of the park and couldn't really be seen. SOB can easily be seen from a long distance. They may as well add a sign that says, "NOTHING UNUSUAL HERE, KEEP MOVING TO ENJOY FLIGHT DECK!" Also I heard on KI central that some lady and a young boy were mucking about the SOB area on opening day which may justify doing more to the entrance than just roping it off! I still say that removing the sign and the entrance means nothing! This will be the second time it's been down for over a year (not that thats a good thing). Removing from websites, map, crates and entrances are just a way too not advertise a coster they *KNOW* won't operate this season. I want to see what happens next. Remove and replace or simply modify would make me happy!
  5. Has anyone confirmed SOB's removal yet?! all we know is the crate's been removed and the line's been fenced off! They prolly fenced off the line to keep people from mucking about where they aren't supposed to be!
  6. The main problem with this is this is gonna mess with the mind of the GP! SOB is right at the front of the park. If Beast was closed like this, excluding the fact that it's world famous, it's closure would not phase the GP too much due to Beast being at the back of the park. For example, Twisted Twins, and Drachen Fire. Both at the back of the park where you can fool the GP into thinking nothing is there. SOB is a HUGE 218 ft. mound of wood (or some would say crap) sitting at the front of the park! KI can't just throw a blanket over something that huge and pretend like it doesn't exist!
  7. ^ Naw!!! All that WOULD have met was a marathon on Greezed Lightnin'!!!
  8. I always hated that Mantis, Riddlers's Revenge, and Georgia Scorcher were all featured in shows at some point, but never Chang.
  9. ^ I drove past it on Watterson earlier! I was thinking the exact same thing.
  10. ^^^ LMFAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Someone should interview the "father" and other "peers" now!
  11. ^ Same here. Never seen it down, vallyed or seats roped off etc... I ride maybe once or twice every time I go to KI and its only been down once for something minor! Doctor "IN SHOCK" Doom!!!
  12. ^ LMFAO! If the park builds another woodie in SOB's spot, How would the GP react if it was painted white?! "Hey they repainted SOB!" or , "Thats Racer" or "THE ALL NEW SON OF RACER!!!" or something even more asinine like "They might hook Racer up to this ride but they wanted to see if people like it first and it's safe cause there used to be a coaster here that everyone used to say it caused them to have a headache and then the train flipped upside down and killed 260 people back in 2004"
  13. I agree about Mr Freeze's staff. They were all having fun. I do wish the park would have done something about this during the offseason' Gum, hairties, coins and other trash on rooftops
  14. I would go with GCI that way you have extra cash on hand for whatever else you may need. The most expensive GCI was terminator at 10 million but most run about 6-7 million while B&M Inverts run 15 million or more. With B&M you may have to fight to stay within budget. With GCI you can have more freedom without worrying about going over budget. On another note, You might want to include Gravity Group in your research! I would go with them over GCI and both are in the same price range.
  15. I went to SFStl yesterday and I must say everything was running smooth and wonderful except a few rough transitions on Ninja! None of the coasters were rough like I thought they was gonna be! While the rides were fun, the service sucked just a little bit! A lot of the staff seemed rude or had no knowledge of the park or rarely both. (i.e. Where season pass processing ma'am, I DONT KNOW IN THE FRONT AT GUEST RELATIONS I GUESS!!!) Also, after about 3, some of the coasters switched to one train operation. (Boss, Screamin Eagle, Ninja for example) Im MAD that I missed Twisted Twins trains!!! I would have loved to take a picture myself!
  16. I SWEAR I go about 4-6 times a year, maybe more and I've only seen it brake down once for only a little bit!!! My luck can't be that great!, Also I NEVER seen a seat roped off!!! Are you sure that this is Invertigo were talking about and not Son of Beast, Backlot, Drop Zone, or FireHawk or something?!
  17. ^ I seriously can't believe the amount of people that say Invertigo/Face-Off is a "Lawn Ornament"! I believe I go to Kings Island a fair-good amount and I've only seen Invertigo/Face-Off down once since 1999 and that time was for a very short period of time!!! Not hard to believe that it valleyed cause I've seen Boomerangs do it before, and it is opening day. One coaster at a large park usually has a strange, unusual breakdown of some type on opening day.
