Straight guy here, need to vent. One of my sister's closest friends is openly gay and has been hiding her girlfriend from her homophobic parents. Well, they found out, and the stuff my sister said made me sick. They're moving her to another school next year, and are putting her through really expensive therapy sessions. The fact that parents can't accept their own children for who they are really disgusts me. If my child told me he/she was gay, if anything I'd think higher of them for having the courage to accept that. It really pisses me off that people STILL have that medieval way of thinking where they disown their own child because of who they're attracted to. Any gay people on here who have gone through something similar with their parents, you have my sympathies. If any of you are going through something similar currently, don't hesitate to send me a PM. I'm not the best guy to offer support, but I'll do my absolute best to help you. I may not be able to empathize with you since I'm straight, but I still have some idea of what you must be going through.

On a somewhat related note: I wish I knew how to compose music, because I've got some musical ideas that I can't imagine have been done frequently at all.

With warmer weather coming at last I'm going to try and get in a run of at least a mile every day. I went on a run of close to 3 miles on Saturday after not running at all in close to a year. An activity that I haven't been able to do in a really long time is nature walking. When I was very little my dad would take me to this park on and we'd just spent the day walking the nature trails. Walking through the woods is probably my favorite thing to do outside.

Except it WASN'T a fight. It was a one-sided assault. Holtby wanted ABSOLUTELY NO PART of it. Any sensible hockey fan would see that it wasn't a fight and has no place in the game.

^ Oh, so you condone that thuggery. Emery should have been kicked out of the NHL for that. Holtby wanted NO PART and that thug jumped him anyway. Emery even said in an interview after the game: "He said he didn't want to fight, so I said protect yourself." Holtby still had his gloves on when Emery was wailing on THE BACK OF HIS HEAD! Sorry, but anyone who condones that act doesn't deserve respect and shouldn't watch hockey.

Well, The Last Of Us is being made into a movie. Exactly what I DIDN'T want to happen is happening. Unless the movie is about completely different characters, I won't even bother with it. Movie adaptations of video games always suck, and a movie version of TLOU would ruin everything that made the game great.

That and your offense doesn't show up at times If a team can score five goals in one game and four goals the next, and lose both, that is a clear indication that offense isn't a problem. The problem is defense, not offense or goaltending. McPhee focused on everything except what we actually need and has done that ever since I've been following hockey. He needs to go. This team will never come close to a Cup as long as he is GM.

^ Goaltending is NOT an issue. We had three goalies who were capable of being our number one. Halak will not do ANY better than Neuvy because he still won't have a defense in front of him. The reason our goals against is so high is because our goalies have been given ZERO support from the D. We got a good defenseman in Klesla, but then traded him away to help get a goalie who we didn't need.

The Caps had the worst trade deadline moves since I've been following hockey. GMGM is the most incompetent GM since Mike Milbury with the Islanders. I hate McPhee so much that I hope this team bombs so he'll be fired, so the Caps will actually have a chance to be a decent team.

Rival Sons - "Pressure and Time" Another band I heard of through TMS. It seems to be a trend in new rock bands to have a retro sound. It's definitely a trend I welcome.
