  1. I'm the crazy kind of screamer. The kind of screamer that tells people as the coaster is leaving the station that their wheel is loose/falling off/missing etc. OR I'll usually make a gay/wincy scared sound leaving the station. Then I usually yell like Goofy or yell because it makes the adrenaline rush just that more intense.
  2. ^lots of people over the course of professional sports entire history played professional sports but that doesn't make them relevant.
  3. Sokoban was the first personal computer game I ever played. My father introduced me to our first PC August 11, 1988. I know this date because he use to have a picture taped to the bottom of the monitor that was a simple computer design of person's mouth showing only the part of the face around the mouth, the mouth, the lips, and the teeth. The teeth were biting a bullet and the bullet was dated August 11, 1988, the day he brought the computer home. Not sure how long PCs were out by then but he is a major computer guy )but not in the nerdy way). He worked on computers in the navy and is a programmer for one of the top defense systems companies. This was a really really big deal to him back in the day.
  4. Being that I cannot stand WoW and but love strategy games, I'm hooked. Now that I'm unemployed, I have all the time in the world I can stay on top of the game, 24x7. I'm so not a gamer. I don't get into the Wii/Xbox/Playstation thing. I don't play many PC games except RCT (the original) and RCT2. If you wanna find me and my mafia, Joe Halley in the Washington DC network. I'm wearing an orange tee shirt, holding another tee shirt outside Yankee Stadium that reads "BAHSTON SAWKS CACH"
  5. ^nice find on the tressel pieces. I looked but didn't see them. While checking out the webcam, I see the supports have gone up from the brakes to the turn around into the station. Any body know when we'll see track attached to the supports? Will they put most of the supports up (minus the lift hill) before track goes vertical? And finally, is it true that the brake run is usually the last section of track installed in case they need to make any adjustments from the rest of the layout being slightly off?
  6. ^Is Rich Gannon still relevant anymore? Is he on an NFL roster?
  7. Random pics from my Motorola Karma. Some are pretty good I think! Though not associated with coasters, anyone who ever attended Velvet Nation or Buzz will appreciate this pic. Nation was a legendary night club in DC before the Nats stadium moved in. This was spray painted on a jersey wall today where the club's main entrance use to be. *sigh* Playing with cell phone camera options Love those zero g rolls more than Sonic! And that's saying something. I'm so sticking this up as my wallpaper on my desktop Take your pic...you can have the pig or you can have the cock! I will never ever ever forgive Paramount Parks for removing Yogi from this attraction. R.I.P. Geauga Lake Would be cool shot if my mirror wasn't so dirty. The Money Shot. My car, Tyler Xavier Ryan and Dominator Sorry Folks, Wally World is closed today
  8. Just back from the park. The only thing different from yesterday's photo report and what I saw today was rebar or some other steel stuff was coming out of where the lift will be. I saw one column with this! There were five supports for the turn around after the first drop. Though they don't look like they hug the ground quite as much as the animations depict. The track appears to be six to eight feet off the ground. SROS at SFA comes close enough to the ground that you use to be able to grab grass as you flew by before they put landscaping rocks down there to keep the grass out. I stopped in the store to the right of the main entrance to check out the model of I305 and the coaster train could not complete a circuit without the help of the store's associate. Not a good sign. I arrived to the park around 1pm and rode Grizzly nearly a dozen times getting many re-rides without having to get out of my seat. I bounced on over to Rebel Yell and rode a half dozen times with the same circumstances. By this point it was around 2:30 and the park was much more busy. I took a ton of pics and will post them here as soon as I copy them off my facebook page and convert them to files. Volcano had the longest line I've seen since it opened going back into the old Smurf queue. I decided to pass on Volcano and didn't even check Dominator. My trip down usually takes 1.5 hours but this time it took three hours. Traveling south on I95 between the Mixing Bowl (Springfield) and Quantico was a nightmare. I got off I95 and took US 1 all the way down. Squeezed in a brief stop at Sonic off exit 126. Those of us who live in the Baltimore/DC region do not take for granted that we do not have Sonics around so now that there is one on the way, it's a must.
  9. I haven't been on Grizzly all summer. Marathoning tomorrow!
  10. Anyone play? Anyone want to join a (my) Mafia? I've only been playing for a couple of days and I'm completely addicted to this game.
  11. Here's my partner's saltwater tank. I hate it. He spends more time working on the tank than he does with me. The most recent pic, August 4, 2009
  12. I'm so going tomorrow. I had no idea they were opened this week. The waterpark must be empty too!
  13. ^I was just busting your sack. Everyone else has been doing a good job at busting mine lately. I was born in 1980. Of course I know who the Fonz was.
  14. Seriously--and I say this with love--Cedar Point has been "out of room" for at least 10 years. And in that time, they've built four new coasters (two of which were the world's largest), two giant flat rides, and now this. Let it go, folks. Obviously not. Where did Maverick, TTD, Wicked Twister, and now STR all wind up? Open spaces. I hardly call MF the world's tallest anyway. Steel Dragon opened what, ten days later to take the title?

  16. Re: Space left to build at Cedar Point I bet sooner or later they'll take a page out of Six Flags playbook and start building on parking lots. Didn't the Universal Orlando Resort build those parking garages on top of old parking lots in order to conserve space for their Resort Make Over in the mid to late 1990's?
  17. ^while I'm no CP expert, I would have to guess that because of the location of the ride, they'll have to spend extra money to build the infrastructure. Isn't that part of the park like a swampy area? I'm could very wel be wrong.
  18. ^hello fellow AA county resident. I know I know I live in Bowie now but I was born in Annapolis, raised and lived in Pasadena for all but a couple of years! My legal residency is still in AA County.
  19. I've only ever been to SFGAdv during the week. Making my first Sunday trip there on September 13th, the same day that the NFL kicks off the regular season. Hoping that will keep park go'ers away. Any help with crowds on Sundays?
  20. Cant say that I necessarily disagree with you on that. I usually skip the water rides and will definitely not ride this on any early morning ERT like at Coastermania. I guess the lesson is.... go commando?? lol I can't do that anymore. I went commando to KD a few weeks ago and managed to bust the back end out of my shorts. There were totally ripped from belt loops all the way down to the in seam. Worst part? I was getting off Rebel Yell when it happened and had to walk all the way to the front of the park securing the back so I wouldn't give everyone a full moon. Never again.
  21. looks lame. I can't believe they're spending $10.5 on a water ride. Before everyone jumps on me for knocking the ride before I ride it, I just don't like water rides. Period. Nothing against Cedar Point, just not my thing. I can't believe anyone actually enjoys walking around a park all day with wet shoes and socks and that nasty itchy butt feeling you get from your undergarments chaffing you all day. Both of the Intimidator coasters look awesome but I don't understand why they saved this announcement for last. They should have announced them in reverse order.
