Needed Advise on an East Coast Trip
Tremindouz replied to Brassinthegrass's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
You're a machine if you can get that all done in a week. If you can get Kennywood and Holiday both done in a day, I'd consider adding Busch Gardens Williamsburg. -

I have always wanted to go to WCB but something always seemed to come up. Weddings, baptisms, works trips… It looks like the stars have aligned this year. I just bought tickets for me and my wife! I'm so excited. -

My guess is a wooden terrain coaster with fire special effects and an eventual vertical drop into a tunnel where you are surrounded by fire. -

I really hope the testing gets done in the next few days. I'll be in Vegas next weekend and would love to be able to get a ride. Keeping my fingers crossed. -
How many times the same ride in a day ?
Tremindouz replied to mingsai's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I worked at California's Great America during the summer of 1997. I was a ride operator on Fiddler's Fling and Drop Zone. I rode Drop Zone 188 times in one day. At one point I got 80 rides in a row. -
Thanks for the feedback Elissa. We're ironically going with our parents; proving your point of most people being 50+. We'll try to keep an open mind and make the most of it. For those curious about the story. My brother in law was on a Carnival booze cruise to Ensenada for his best friend's bachelor party about two years ago. He had too much to drink and got a little rowdy. The ship police were called, but they clearly couldn't handle him. He's 6 foot 4 inches and about 240 pounds. They ended up needing an army of people to restrain him. They eventually got him into a cell and kicked him off the ship at the next stop. He tore his rotator cuff during the scuffle and actually needed surgery a few months later. He played baseball in college so we think he may have had already done some damage to his shoulder prior to the scuffle. He wasn't trying to hurt anyone but admitted he was being obnoxious. He also admits that hurting his shoulder was his fault and he deserved getting the boot. He didn't drink for over a year after the incident. As they were kicking him off the ship, they told him he will not be allowed to sail on any Carnival cruise line ever again. We called a few of the cruise lines last week and they confirmed that he was on their "do not cruise" list.

Wow, I just spent the last couple of days reading this entire thread. Some really great info and tips. My wife and I just finished our first cruise a few weeks ago and we are officially hooked. We did a 7 day western Mediterranean cruise on the Liberty of the Seas. The ship was amazing, the shows were great, and the food was very good. We really do not have anything to complain about. We loved cruising so much that we've already booked our next cruise for June 2013. We're doing a 7 day cruise on the Celebrity Century to Alaska. We were limited on the cruise lines we can take because someone who will be traveling with us was banned from all Carnival cruises (after reading this thread, that's a great thing) and the Norwegian freestyle cruising didn't appeal to us. Has anyone cruised on the Century? We're a little worried because of the ship's age.

I only got four new credits this year, but that was enough to change my list. I added Skyrush to the top and everything moved down a spot. 1) Skyrush (the left wing is better than sex) 2) El Toro 3) Maverick 4) X2 5) Top Thrill 6) Millennium Force 7) Nitro 8) Apollo's Chariot 9) Flight of Fear (I love both) 10) Phoenix The ride that fell off the list was Medusa at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom.

I was there on Sunday and got on Superman twice. Capacity was much better than I expected. I'd say the wait was about 30 mins both times. Cycles were roughly every minute and forty five seconds. The ride ops were doing an amazing job. Every launch I watched had all seats filled. Overall I'm very impressed with the ride. I also rode the Star Flyer for my first time. That was a ton of fun as well.
