Cruising with Theme Park Review - Feb 2011
stingrock23 replied to robbalvey's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
Cool to see what cruise ships look like these days. Heading out in 3 weeks so I'm getting pretty excited. Amazing how much crap they can throw on a boat. -

Last day of my Saints being defending champs. It's been an incredible ride, but all rides come to an end. The game today should be a good one, for some reason I think Pittsburgh and the Rapelsberger get it done. One thing is for sure, no team will ever have a super bowl parade as big or crowded as the Saints parade last year. -

Having lived here for pretty much my entire life, I can tell you that a them park will not work in this area. No tourist comes to New Orleans thinking amusement parks, so it would have to rely on the local population, and I just don't think the locals here have the theme park appetite to support it. Now if it were just a waterpark? That could work, but it just doesn't seem like any investment in the property will be worth the money. -

This thread will never, ever die. It needs to die just like this park did back on August 29, 2005. -

Loved Avalanche, that thing just flew around the track. I have great memories of getting my ride, then spending a few hours at the Mexican restaurant Pedro's nearby drinking Mug-o-ritas and running into the ride mechanics who fixed it after the lightning storm. Good times. Much thanks to these guys -
Bonus episode tonight. Forgot all about it until I saw the DVR light on

Congrats to the SEC on winning a 5th straight BCS title. Despite hating Auburn, I had to pull for the conference tonight. What is that, 7-0 in BCS title games now? Talk about dominance. -

Well that was incredibly disappointing. Defense played like crap. Although all things considered, to me the season was a success. Getting back to the playoffs with targets on their backs and all the injuries they suffered was a pretty good feat. And they still have a Super Bowl, so I'll take it. There's always next year. -

You obviously don't know how seedings work. Saints play the NFC West winner, Eagles play the Pack. I'm just glad the Saints wouldn't play that winner until the NFC title game. Wow, it will be an interesting week. Our podcast should have some good material. Domepatrolpodcast.com. Too bad you're not all Saints fans. I'm still thinking Saints vs Falcons NFC Title. I'm also drunk at this point. Holla, true donkey style! -

Insane that I'm watching this crappy game. The winner of this game will lose to the Saints next week. Wow, not sure who to pull for. I'd rather play in a dome, but Rams are a better team than the Hawks. What a crappy game to watch. At least I'm not an Eagles fan waiting for the Packers. -

^ I do agree that this year the NFC is as wide open as it's ever been, other than the NFC West winner. Honestly, I'm just hoping the Packers don't make it into the playoffs. That's one team i really wouldn't want to play. I just hope the Bears come to play today. -

Boy the Big 10 sure looked good today. Leaders and Legends? What a joke. -

So who do you think will make it? Atlanta? Call me when Matt Ryan wins his first playoff game. All this attention for no real results. For some reason, I have a crazy feeling about the Panthers-Falcons game. The Falcons are obviously superior, but a coach's last game can cause crazy things to happen. -

The NFC playoffs will be wide open. Any team (with the exception of the NFC West winner) will be able to beat any other team. I just hope the Bears come to play and beat the Packers because that's one good team I want to see miss the playoffs. The Saints will likely have to go play the Rams in round one, but in all honesty, no NFC team scares me at this point. sure, going to Soldier Field in January isn't ideal, but they can win anywhere, and look for them to go back to the Super Bowl. -
Merry Christmas From Theme Park Review!

LOST Complete Series on Blu Ray LOST Encyclopedia Saints gloves Saints tie Saints bag tag Saints golf bag (thanks to my beautiful wife) Epic Mickey for Wii Electric wine opener (since I tend to drink a lot) AMC movie gift card Cash I think that's about it, but I'll also take a Saints win over the Falcons Monday. That would be the best present of all. And some good quality time with my family. That always counts. -
Anyone get the Epic Mickey (Wii) game yet? I plan to get it, but probably can't play it for a good while until I finish all my studying and pass the CPA exam, which will end up being summer. The game looks great, and if it's half as good as the 2 kingdom hearts games I know I'll enjoy it

Bye bye, Boise. Nice knowing you.

^ yeah, New Orleans East is the one major area of the city that really hasn't come back. Just ineptitude and lack of any decisions being made on the property have allowed it to just sit. I just hate to see it sit there rotting away. I'm just done with it all. -
Suck it, Bama. I picked a great day to go to my first LSU game of the season.
-
Close game, but Auburn pulled it out. Defense didn't do the job, offense played ok. Just a tough day. If the defense plays like they should, it's a win. They didn't. Oh well, Auburn just flat out won. At least we can still beat Alabama. Tough day, but I do get a Saints home game tomorrow.
-
^ I'm definitely pulling for as much chaos as possible. That's the only way this system can get changed. It's going to take a BCS title game with non-major conference teams in it to make it happen. I always pull for my team, LSU, but in the case where they aren't at the top, I always pull for the conference. It makes all the teams look better. Much like I root against the Big 10, because you guys think you're a better conference than you really are. The Pac 10 has definitely improved and jumped over the Big 10 in my eyes. The Big 12 and ACC are both down, and the SEC and pac 10 are right now the 2 best conferences. And didn't I predict the sweater vest would find a way to lose a game? Happens every year.

You know, that's fine, it doesn't matter if you run the table or not. I could see OSU making it through the Big Slow and getting to the BCS game and getting blown out. That will be what, the 3rd time that's happened? Besides, the fact that OSU doesn't play Michigan St, and both could be undefeated at the end of the season, will just make me laugh. That's a complete joke. And you can call us SEC fans arrogant or whatever you want, but the fact is that our league has won the last 4 BCS titles, pretty handily, including 2 blowouts over the buckeyes. So I'd say we have some room to brag at this point.
