technfxrick replied to Simon Baynham's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
15/20, i thought the last 2 have been easier. -
Mine was Rainbow Chaser last month at the now closed Fun Forest Amusement Park at the Space Needle during our seattle trip. My last full size coaster was Coaster Thrill Ride at the Puyallup Fair, also in Seattle. Theres a small posibillity we may go to Vegas in December, but thats doubtful at this point. Final Count for 09 114 Credits, 94 New Credits, 40 Parks, 3 Continents, 4 Countrys

There was some stuff on Screamscape awhile ago about removing Demon Drop, Disaster Transport, and taking out some of the employee parking and putting a GCI in there, maybe thats what they will do. -
Track Spottings!
technfxrick replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I dont think they were building any of this track as "replacement" track, when else have they had to replace track on a B&M??? I think this was for a new coaster in China or Japan, and we just havent heard about it yet. Then again it may be replacement track for Black Diamond and knoebels is just keeping it hidden -

Knoebels Discussion Thread
technfxrick replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
It was announced 4 years ago today (october 8th) at PPP so its definately getting up there. But then again wasnt RFII planned for almost a decade before that was finished? -
Also, its not like they have to dismantle it, ship it back to B&M, have them assemble it, look at it and go hmmmmm yeah i guess we could put Floorless trains on this. There engineers can pull up the CAD plans on there computers, and very quickly say that yes it will work, or no it wont. Six Flags would know all of that before they started disassembling it. Also the fact that there loading it on to Flatbeds now means that they know where its going. I doubt they would ship it back to Ohio to have the manufacturer repaint it when every park has contracts with painting companys to do that type of thing at a park. My guess is we will know pretty quickly where it is going as it will probably show up somewhere sometime soon.

10/20 Not too bad, but id visited the parks in Australia in March of this year so i had some help. -
True in that case, but still the basic infrastructure was there. I think the point of this thread is will Six Flags ever build another park from the ground up. (Like HRP) and i dont think that will ever happen, 1 because there is very few markets left to expand into, and 2 because of the incredibly high cost of building a park in the US as opposed to Qatar, or Dubai
-
I'm aware, but if you do a little research you'll see that Six Flags came in and completely scrapped and re-themed the whole park, with totally new themed areas, a new entrance, etc. If you go to SFAfans.com you'll see the concept drawings from when the park opened in '99. Not Really, i have been going to that park since it was Wild World, and while six flags did add an entire new entrance area, the only other thing they really did was add a land behind Wild One, (Area now that has Jokers Jinx, ROS, and Batwing) apart from that they didnt really change much.

Carowinds Discussion Thread
technfxrick replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I know, KD's thread was just bashing CF because the coaster was ONLY 305 feet, and they had OTSR's. here everyones like this coaster is gonna be sweet, even though its very similar to every other hyper out there. I personally cant wait for either of these rides. -
BGE vs. Kings Dominion
technfxrick replied to iplf's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Must've read over that quick queue system on the website. It's only 15 USD, so that's a good deal! I might do both parks as you suggest. Be at KD at opening and score some early rides and do the better coasters. Then drive to BGW, get the quick queue pass and enjoy the late afternoon and evening at this park. About the KD-coasters: Is this a realistic list of coasters to do? Best ones one top, and divided into batches: Intimidator Dominator Avalanche (I just love bob coasters) Back Lot Stunt Flight Of Fear Shockwave Volcano Hurler (looks like a lot of airtime?) Anaconda Grizzly Ricochet Rebel Yell Scooby Doo Taxi Jam Just hope I'll have enough money for both parks, hehe! Bump up grizzly over Hurler, Hurler is just painful and grizzly got retracked this year so is actually running quite nicely. Same thing goes for volcano over shockwave, shockwave also not that great of a ride anymore. KD is my home park and this is how i would do the park to make the most use of time. Dominator Volcano Avalanche (usually opens later in the day) FOF Anaconda BLSC Shockwave Grizzly Rebel Yell Riccochet -

I'll be there for the opening day of this, and the opening day of carowinds coasters, i dont see why people can just sit here and bash something after only seeing the POV's. wait till the rides open and then start ragging on it. -
