  1. Hey who ever said that our hobby is cheap? ive gotten lucky over the last few years as ive been able to travel for work. Unfortunatly now ive done all the credits in Chicago, Dallas, Orlando, LA, etc etc which is where i usually have to travel to. Now im having to pay out of pocket to places like the Northwest, Denver, SLC and the not so major business places. This year were going to SLC just to get the lagoon credits, im going to start a cost per credit worksheet, as i can see the next few years getting pricey.
  2. Yeah we wernt that lucky, as i said we were in seattle for about 48 hours, and the proposal was really the big thing about that trip. Hopefully when i go out there for business in September i can get out to silverwood, as that seems one of the more difficult parks to reach
  3. Actually when we checked, Wild Waves closed the weekend before Puyallup opened, and Reopened for its Halloween event the weekend after Puyallup closed, i wasnt too worried though as i have to go to Seattle for Business in September so plan to get my Wild Waves Credits then. I know they dont do it on purpose, but it is frustrating for the Credit hunter/whore to have to travel all the way to seattle twice to get in those ever elussive credits.
  4. Yeah me and my Fiance met at a conference in Seattle, then realized we only lived an hour away. So i ended up using the trip for 3 reasons. 1. Getting the credits that were closing at Fun Forest 2. Ride 4 coasters that are only open 3 weeks out of the year, and 3. Propose, and luckily all 3 went well, it was just along way to fly out Friday Morning and Fly back Sunday morning.
  5. We actually came out from VA to go to the Fair this year, and while i thought it was great for a fair, i was shocked at how expensive it was. I think for me and my fiance (I actually asked her to marry me right before going to the fair) spent close to $150 for the 2 of us on parking, admission, food, and about 8-10 Rides. I thought it was a bit steep considering we were only there for about 4-5 hours. Add on to that the flights and hotel from VA they turned into some of my more expensive credits.
  6. Wow where does Cedar Fair come up with this creativity. This must of taken a team of them MONTHS to come up with.
  7. They also just announced that there will be a first rider auction, i guess thats to be expected based upon the Cedar Fair parks previous coasters. I just hope that Season Pass holders can get on there an hour earlier like they did for DB
  8. Kings Dominion just announced via there facebook that opening weekend is April 2nd (Good Friday). Wonder if there planning on Opening Intimidator 305 that day too?
  9. If we decide to fly in, is there going to be a way we can stay at the group hotel? Were thing about coming out for bay area bash, and were just trying to look at our options.
  10. I'm pretty sure that i read on one of Noxegon's TR that he got 8 parks and 21 coasters in one day while doing the jersey shore. However my record for parks in one day is 5 and that was credit whoring in Orlando. Whats really impressive with the Mt Olympus-SFGAM is that that must of been like 300 miles traveled in addition to the 7 parks
  11. I was searching RCDB today trying to plan some trips for next year, and it looks like this has been pushed back to 2011, has anyone else heard anything about this? http://www.rcdb.com/4495.htm
  12. The only reason i dont think that they needed a new lift is because if you look at this picture http://www.rcdb.com/4079.htm?p=21309 You can see them in the middle of painting the ride and it looks like the lift is faded orange, and it is then a clean shade of yellow in this picture http://www.rcdb.com/4079.htm?p=22798
  13. I Don't know the park that well, but couldn't it also go where Deja' vu stood. Also i wonder how this will impact the Chang decision. If SFGAM got both it would however mean that the SFGAM fanboys would have to stop complaining about how SFMM get's multiple coasters in consecutive years...
  14. The sad truth. But you know, it's funny how some newer rides (like The Voyage) get new trains so soon after opening. (actually, come to think of it, Colossus did the same thing shortly after it opened). Perhaps one of these days they will restore the ride. But who knows if or when that will ever happen. Until then, questions like these will still be asked. Maybe Six Flags should buy the used trains from Holiday World, It worked for LC when the bought the old Wildcat Trains from HP
  15. Found this on RCDB.com http://www.rcdb.com/8983.htm Looks like one set of track is headed to China. Seeing i doubt SC stands for flying coaster, the yellow track is still missing, but maybe this is for the other coaster that was at the yard.
  16. I got the credit back in like 98, and it wasn't a very memorable coaster. We went to the park on a Saturday in July while visiting my Grandparents, and we were the ONLY people in the park. We watched a show and it was really sad how they had a cast of like 25 for 4 people in the audience. Also we didnt even pay for our tickets as my grandparents had won them, so i cant see this park being very profitable even when they were "busy"
  17. Yeah i'm sure it had something to do with the crane, because if you look at the webcam now, the crane is gone.
  18. It also might of had something to do with the cost/ time constraints on the Crane, they may of needed the Crane for another job, or it was just cheaper to pay the overtime than to pay for another weeks rental on the crane.
  19. Hey Big Mike, When are you going to post your 2010 schedule? Also are you doing any of the TPR trips in 10?
  20. Thanks for the info guys, hopefully it should be a good trip.
  21. Most likely will be i305 ant KD, unless we get a Vegas Trip in before then.
  22. Ok Thanks, Also I get done with my conference around 11AM Sunday, and i'm going to book my flight home for Monday. Would SFFT be open this early in the year? I figure i could be there by 3 at the latest and as long as it closes after 7 i could get most of the credits in. I was there in 08 and only got 4 coasters in in 7 hours, so not a very productive trip.
  23. Does anyone know the operating hours for the Boardwalk Bullet? i have an option to go to Houston for work March 18-21, and honestly the only reason i would go is if this coaster is open. I have looked at the website and it has a very generic Sun-Sat hours with the Bullets Hours subject to change. I know this coaster just went through a rehab, so would it be a good chance that the coaster would be open these days? Can anyone give me any heads up on this?
  24. Does Shane have the space for that in his park? Also i'm sure its not in that great of a condition after sitting open to the elements for 4 years. I did hear though that they refurbed the trains? Maybe they are worth something.
  25. Quick Question, and sorry if this has already been answered, me and my fiance are considering the Mid America trip, if it goes to the lottery would it be that if one of us got in the other would too. Or would we have to hope we both got in.
