  1. ^I believe so. I remember reading a story about it when i was trying to find out info about Drop Zone @ PGA when it was announced. But the story mentioned about how it was the first of its kind, fail safe braking system.
  2. ^Oh yea, i know about Scream. Well thats why i just said "most" of the Beemers out there. I know for sure that my home park's B&M's are nowhere near smooth!
  3. Well now that makes sense. I guess another question is, has anyone ridden a coster with the magnetic brakes, and does it have a smoother stop than traditional brakes? I only ask because i would assume it would be smooth but also slow a little harder, as it cant be regulated. I know that they work on speed (the faster your going the harder it slows).
  4. ^Well thats good to know. I will definately make sure to say hey to you guys!! Im hoping to have my first P:TR on that day and i have to make sure you and robb are included!! I assume that there will be an official TPR P:TR so I expect to be in that also!! lol J/K Dont want to scare you already!! I can see it now... Me trying to say hey and you all running away and I end up in a row by myself on Tatsu!!
  5. This kinda doesnt have to do with the subject but i was just curious. Do you guys get approached like your famous celebs? I have always wanted to know.
  6. The first time i really noticed them was when Sheikra was under construction. Im guessing it wasnt a big deal(no announcement or anyrthing like that). Is there any earlier installation? Does anyone have any pictures showing the underside of a train showing the brake fins? But like i mentioned before... How smooth does B&M want to get? In no way am i complaining. Im just meerly trying to find out if there is now any way to be any smoother. I mean all aspects of almost every B&M to this day are already smooth. From engaging the lift, to the already smooth friction brakes! So i do see that they dont replace all the brakes. Is there a reason why? Maybe they are still "trying them out"? Maybe my guess is as good as anyones. Here's what im talking about.
  7. I really like your drop ride!! Im in the process of making an Intamin 2nd gen drop. It will use the individual cars instead of the ring.
  8. They already have a LIM coaster. Its not like they cant have another one. What i think they need is another wood, but with it looking like they want to keep the majority of coasters in the front of the park, now due to the re-themeing, there would not be any room. I think they should just relocate the park entrance and just build to the edge of the street, that way it could set them up to expand to the fairgrounds(if that ever happens). Well thats just me daydreaming! Im done now!
  9. Hey, they were the "Bash Brothers"!!! Although the same concept, it was way different.
  10. I will be going to both!! I can finaly meet the TPR gang and join in their crazy antics!!! Ha... i make it sound like im meeting some famous movie stars or something!! lol Well, until then....
  11. Well its already pretty late in the season to paint that ride...they open in March, I dont think thats enough time. Maybe next year Well didnt V2 take less than a month to paint? Yes, but Medusa is a much larger and longer ride. It wont take just 2-3 weeks to paint it. Yea i had a dumb moment there!!! It is obvious that Medusa is longer. I was just hoping that being it sits in the front of the park, they would want thier star attraction to look good for a new begining.
  12. Well now is my chance to finally meet some of the TPR gang!!! I will deffinately be attending!!! Thank god i got my play pass!!!!
  13. Well its already pretty late in the season to paint that ride...they open in March, I dont think thats enough time. Maybe next year Well didnt V2 take less than a month to paint?
  14. So all the rides end up keeping their names. I guess the land themes were more metaphor than literal. Now V2 doesnt fit the ride!! I wonder if Medusa will get at least a fresh coat of paint!?
  15. FREAKIN AWSOME!!!!! I am really liking the inside of Batman's station!!! I really cant wait to check the whole park out!!! Good good job!!!
  16. Thats what you get when you have steel wheels on steel rails!!! It sounds like a freakin' jet taking off of an aircraft carrier!!!! And speakin of S:TE, does anyone have any more pics or info on that prototype reverse freefall? I know there was a thread about it, but there wasnt much to it.
  17. Well then i guess its safe to assume that ALL coasters will be re-themed! Come opening, the whole park should look brand new!! Freshly painted rides, brand new themeing. Its like the park is getting a fresh start!
  18. Well another update!! Now that the front half has been completed, I can say that it looks decent!!! www.xtremecoastin.com/gallery/sfmw/updates/1-8-07/
  19. ^^ Well after watching the 2 video's, i have seen that they are not mirored. Plus i was only going off of memory with comparing the two. So i do retract my last statement! I last rode KD's Grizz in 2001.
  20. I'll give it to this one for a good looking station! www.rcdb.com/ig805.htm?picture=2
  21. I also wanted to know that too. I have rode both and to my understanding, and knowledge, they are just mirored. But if that was the case, then why can KD's get air on almost every crest, and GA's just crawls up the first hill? Some people might say its the trains, which i would also think so, but i would think that the trains on GA's would be better with its trailored design. I assume less wheels, less friction. I hope someone can call me out on this one, cause it racks my brain every time i see that god awful thing!!!
  22. Oh, no, im not saying you. Its others on here that i saw. Its like they seriously got mad about what someone else said! lol It is funny how far this thread got. I just wanted to put in my 2cents because SFDK is my home park and i got a play pass, so i will be there quite a few times! But believe, im not getting on anyone! Bottom line, I really dont see what the big deal is. Its just a paint job! Just let those, who want to, voice their opinion! Im sure there are other threads that seem rediculous to some that got farther than this one, but was about the topic the entire way through!!! Haaa... well i'll be!!! I just put it over to page 9!!! lol Well i guess another day, another page!!!
  23. Ok i might have worded that wrong... What i wanted to say was there is no need or reason to get on here just to get on other people who are complaning or better yet, just giving their opinion, about the paint color. Now half the thread is about V2 and the other half is people arguing. Well i cant be as fortunate as you and Ryan to know someone in Public Relations, but thats why i come here. If there's news to be told and proof to back it up, then TPR is the only friend i need.
  24. Im sure its been said before, but if you dont care then dont post! I, on the other hand, cant wait to see the finished product. Maybe the color choice will grow on me, but we really need to see what the trains are gonna look like!! Im hoping they keep it simple but at the same time i hope they go all out and try something different! Now i know this topic is about V2, but has anyone got any news about other coaster repaint/re-theme? Particularly Medusa?
  25. Oh... i missed those pictures! I guess i didnt go back to that page. Well yea after looking at the pics, its a pretty simple rebuild! Its really not that offset. Now what about speed? I know it will affect that. Are there trims on that straight section? If so then thats a simple fix also!
