Just a reminder from your friendly neighborhood site moderator--please 1) be respectful of others and 2) remember that having a sense of humor is essential. ^The answer to your question is no. You are right CFC. I should have been more respectful. The truth is, I could be wrong on this one. Maybe there is a chance they could get that lift finished, perform the pull through and several hundred hours of testing, and have it ready by next week. What do I know? I'll keep my fingers crossed for ya

Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread
coolcalicoaster replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Plenty of passholders I know (myself included) would go to CP, get a few rides in and then just relax the rest of the day. I could have a great day if I didn't ride anything. You are definitely in the minority. Most people don't travel all the way to Sandusky for that same reason. People usually go to their local park(not a theme park) for relaxation. CP and other major parks like SFGADV and MM, would not attract guest from all over the world with the advertisement of rest and relaxation. They are attracted by the major thrill rides. I'm sorry but that is the nature of this business. -

Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread
coolcalicoaster replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
When I moved to Ohio from California I was so excited to be near CP. I have to admit I think it is the best park for my tastes. However, some people complain no matter what is added or not added I don't know one single person that goes to Cedar Point to sit on a bench at night to enjoy the quiet. I am also wondering why half of CP fans complain about lack of certain new attractions and the other half complain when anything new is built? Just imagine if their were no CP. Now that would be something to complain about. -
^We don't need you as a back seat mod! My post was well within the conversation. You can go back to discussing bad trips again! And to reply to that comment, wasn't there talk about SFMM not turning enough profit? I am not so sure that a new coaster really produces that significant of a profit boost as you indicate. I love the park like you do, but I just don't understand how parks like SFT will only get a Texas Giant rehab while MM gets two new coasters in 2 years? Anyway, now I'm getting too deep into his comments. Sorry to everyone I think Manta is looking fantastic and I am now actually getting excited to see this thing with some riders!

What coaster is this?
coolcalicoaster replied to tanthonyam's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
You tell them Elissa! She always knows the right time to step in and regulate!!!! -
I have to say, I love the design of that zero car! Looks sweet! Tacky, to me, is all the unnecassary improvements Six Flags is doing to their rides. Examples: adding speakers to cars- Music on a coaster is more of a distraction, I like to hear the screams from the riders and roar of the coaster. Color changes are cool at first but does it really change the ride?...NO! Flame throwers on X2. This is one gimmick that will be gone in a year from now! Cool to see the first few times, then its like "who cares!" I know its not six flags but those monitors on Blue Fire are so tacky. The ride looks awesome enough without them. Who wants to watch a monitor while you are traveling through such a beautiful course? Manta is anything but tacky. Only my opinion

SFGAM 4-4-09 Photo Update
coolcalicoaster replied to ghostrider455's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Thanks for the pics:) This is one park I have yet to visit. I really want to take a ride on The Bull! -
I am having a hard time understanding why there hasn't been any explanations for the delay. I know the majority of visiters are not consumed with the new ride as we all are, but I think it seems a little distasteful to not make an announcement regarding the problems. There are still many people that are planning their trip to Universal around HRRR opening. Just my opinion. Maybe there is a policy or reason for them keeping quiet? I just hope they get the problems resolved soon for those that are able to take the journey to Orlando this summer.

85 coasters and nothing else? They have one of the best collection of flat rides of any park. I pray to God that CP doesn't build something as dull as Dark Knight. People that frequent CP are used to getting big rides. I doubt a mediocre indoor ride will go over so well. The pirate ride was nice and would love to see it back, however, CP isn't called America's roller coast for nothing. You can go anywhere for family and indoor rides. I go to CP for the thrill rides. Keep doing what is working. Thank God Electrik isn't in charge of determining new attractions for CP! -
Underrated Coasters?
coolcalicoaster replied to Yero's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I would have to say Mantis and Viper at SFMM are underrated. -
That particular person was defensive over that fact that I stated my opinion that Manta looked a little bleh. Thats when he responded to my comment that HRRR is looking fantastic. Some people get so defensive! Dude grow up. And I didn't respond to your post. That was defensive? Really? How old are you? Hey if your excited about an out and back steel coaster which I see being built every few weekends, hey whatever. Some people like more intense rides, some don't. Move on, I'm not giving anyone a hard time who's excited for it. Hey it's a new coaster for Orlando whats not to like. And also next time actually please quote my remarks and not pick and choose as I also stated my hopes for this to be a sleeper hit, and also stated I hope I'm wrong with my opinion. To me, again get past it (my views) Rocket looks currently boring. Boring in sense could have been much more. (Again my opinion, sorry it differs) Cheers! Again, you are getting way too defensive! lol Relax for a minute, please. You are taking things way too personally. You are right to have your own opinion. I thought we cleared that up. If you are looking for an argument, you are looking in the wrong direction. I come here to have fun and enjoy everything TPR has to offer, not to engage in meaningless debates. I hope Manta is everything you are expecting, despite my opinion. My hypothesis is that HRRR will be the more thrilling ride of the two, but we wont find that out till later this year. I'm sorry you were so offended by my comments. I will try to steer clear of you in the future to avoid this sorta thing. Cheers!

Yeah for most people that are a fairly in shape it isn't bad on the legs. It may leave them a little numb but I have noticed that on all standups I have ridden. Coasters tend to be a little uncomfortable depending on your build. -

^Again that is your opinion. Overall, it in underrated. The general public never shy away from this ride. most people that I talk to, not on TPR, truly enjoy it. Your opinion means nothing in the whole picture. Neither does mine.
