Is Allure of the Seas the fanciest cruise out there now?
Crazy4Coasters! replied to mandy_Reeves's topic in Ask Alvey
Wow that "Allure of the Seas" ship looks ridiculously amazing! I just checking the prices on their website and they are not even that expensive! Too bad all the trips they had available all depart from Florida. -

Amen! Tigers in 6! -
I know the feeling! I recently gotten married so the bills have kept my renewed "investments" on a very minimal scale... for now!

I collected many cards in the 90's including comic cards. Being a kid in middle school and finding out the card you pulled from a pack was $25,$50 or $100 felt like you won the lottery. I sold my old collection in the early 2000's so I'm giving it another try for fun.

I've been a member for years in TPR and I was wondering if there are any people that collect sports cards. Maybe some connections can be made to trade or sell. I currently collect basketball cards and recently just picked up the hobby once again. I got one gem I love so far and I'll post a picture of it and hopefully some of you can show off the beauties you all have! Enjoy!

TPR Cruises the Disney Fantasy!
Crazy4Coasters! replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
After reading through the TPR "Klassy" cruise trip report and this one, I wanted to thank you for the valuable information that will come in handy when I plan a get away with the wife in the future. I have never been on a cruise but I can clearly see the clear-cut difference between Carnival and everything else! LOL! I have seen the $249, $299 (whatever it is) deal Carnival advertises on tv and it entices me to jump on board and try a cruise with them soon. But honestly after seeing the "klassy" cruise trip report, I couldn't believe the extreme disappointment in service, food, and class all around. I think I'll try a cruise soon with the wife but as I saw Robb mentioned before (on facebook I believe) there aren't many good options from the LA coast so I hope to at least take a RCCL trip that can make the limited options out of LA worth it. -
Interesting..wonder how that works. LOL! It makes it sound like they are encouraging people to bring their cell phones on the ride and "check in" at the top of the lift! I was meaning to ask about that... I still can't figure out what the "promotion" is! And yes it exactly sounds like they want people to take out their cell phones and check in right before the drop... I don't get it!

You couldn't tell if he was being sarcastic? I thought that was the most beautiful piece of sarcasm I've read in quite some time. Aww thanks supertrooper! And thank you Crazy4Coasters for explaining exactly why the "coaster war" is silly. BTW, does anyone else find it odd that Magic Mountain isn't trumpeting around the fact this addition will solidify their record for most coasters? It seems like they love to say it in their press releases for new coasters. Though I suppose they aren't really recapturing it at this point because Cedar Point never took it back, or even quite tied it. No, thank you for being such a good sport about it! It's really great to find people on TPR that are easy going in the forums.

What does that even mean? He's clearly referring to the fact that the addition of Full Throttle with cement Magic Mountain's lead over Cedar Point as the ultimate coaster park. See, Cedar Point can only remain a successful park as long as it is able to keep its coaster count roughly equal with Magic Mountain. We coaster enthusiasts live by the principal "Quantity Over Quality." The war between Cedar Point and Magic Mountain is an INCREDIBLY important issue to us. Why do you think Magic Mountain keeps removing non-coaster rides and adding new coasters with short layouts? Because they are trying to cram in as many of those things into the park as they possibly can! So yes, Cedar Fair is without a doubt "son done for." I couldn't put it any better myself. I couldn't tell if you were being sarcastic or not but Cedar Point can still remain a very sucessful park without having to keep up with SFMM coaster count. Remember they do not compete in the same region so the coaster war count is more for bragging rights and their sucessfulness does not hinge on the fact if they can keep up with SFMM coaster count. And no, Cedar Point is in no way "son done for!" You couldn't tell if he was being sarcastic? I thought that was the most beautiful piece of sarcasm I've read in quite some time. I don't know "smallish" normal type of writing so honestly I couldn't tell.

I'm hoping for the best in terms of capacity as well. I always try to give them the benefit of the doubt of being able to maintain great capacity with a new ride just because I'm always optimistic but sadly that hasn't been the case for some time now.. I'll keep my fingers crossed but I won't be holding my breath!
