Weirdest Things The 'GP' Have Said
atem122 replied to maliboomer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The GP just really can't identify wooden coasters, I cant tell you how many times I've seen youtube comments saying: Looks just like: Ghost rider, Psyclone, El Toro etc -
B&M vs Intamin
atem122 replied to alpengeistdude321's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Haha B&M for example , but that is a good point, I guess the companies just go with whatever works, past vertical drops seem to be the big thing right now -
B&M vs Intamin

Even though I am a total Intamin Fanboy, I do have to say that Fahrenheit was just a huge knockoff of Gerstlauer's business plan, but from the POVs that I've seen, it does look much better than most if not all eurofighters to me -
"Take the Tunnel" T-Shirt!
atem122 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I have seen POVs where you can hear TAKE THE TUNNEL, but it's against tpr rules to say where ( ). I'm usually pretty hush about my coaster nerdyness, but I must say that I really do want that shirt -

^forgot about that one, I dont have that credit yet, last time I went I was too scared and didn't know about credits so I didnt have the urgency to ride it -
B&M vs Intamin

IMO (Brace yourself) B&M's just really bore me, I've been on all of them at sfmm (we have many types of B&Ms there) and I must say that almost none of them can give me a memorable ride. Tatsu's pretzel loop is the only element on a B&M coaster at sfmm that really thrills me, the rest just seems like a mass of decently forceful inversions. That said, I really don't have much experience with either company (I've only been on one REAL Intamin), but judging by how Intamins are always the better rated and liked rides, and how they're always coming up with crazier and more revolutionary layouts, I 100% go with them. B&M just plays it way too safe in my opinion, Diamondback is pretty much just Behemoth with a splash down, it has no surprises along the way. Intamins on the other hand are always filled with lightning fast transitions, random ejector hills, and just an all out great pace. Sure both companies are gonna have their duds, I personally don't think too highly of Time Machine or the bad RoS's (even though I havent been near either of them), but Intamins always seem to have the better successes. The one bad thing about living in So Cal is that we have 1 decent Intamin down here (California Screamin', Superman can die for all I care). So as stated about 50 times, Intamin is my choice -

Six Flags Magic Mountain Terminator Salvation: The Ride
atem122 replied to robbalvey's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
Riddler's queue doesnt have much theming, but the station is rave themed!!!!!! That song will never get annoying to me, but figuring as this is the terminator thread: I also thought the wood steps seemed kinda weird, it was also kind of dark in that stair case so I had to watch my step pretty carefully -

^Terminator!!!! New credit, and more enjoyable for me, but don't forget to add Tatsu to that list of bad lines -

Sorry if this has been answered, but are the ride employees still in uniform? -
MAGIC MOUNTAIN FOR FIRST TIMERS
atem122 replied to Gary S's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I LOVE CAPS LOCK!!!!!!!!!!!! In all seriousness though *clears throat*: I'm only a kid here so I know nothing about money or driving, but the Flash Pass is definitely worth it if you can shell out the decently large bucks for it. Superman is by far the least intense major coaster in the park. And I don't drive, but I can tell you that you will certainly run into traffic on the 405 (it's the nation's most congested freeway). I'm not quite sure about the I-5 though -

This one's a pretty good youtube one: 1: "wheres the wooden rollercoaster thats was behind it " 2: "They tore the wooden ride down because it was REALLY bumpy" 3: "no there was a wild fire" This was on a Deja Vu video and hi Diablo Cody!!!! -

I honestly think sfmm should do it Disney style, where they do assign rows, but they'll let you wait for the front upon request -
Best region of U.S. coaster wise?
atem122 replied to Josh Linn's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Did I make a park's selling point on a good ride? My bad, what I meant to say was that, they're all classy people there, they have a great line up of woodies, and the world's tallest (but still pretty lame ) water ride. I totally didn't say something idiotic, that'd be stupid... -

^I was actually able to request the last row, however the whole middle section of my train was empty. I did hear about people who requested the back and their wish wasnt granted -

Call me a quarter of a rebel, but I went with Midwest. With parks like CP which is arguably the best coaster park in the world, SFGAm which is one of Six Flags's crown jewels, and Holiday World which has the world's number one wooden coaster, that's just too much awesomeness to pass up.
