  1. I just found this really awesome underground Dubstep artist. You should check him out.
  2. Weekdays in late August are beautiful. Sans the heat, of course, but maybe you'll get lucky with the weather!
  3. ^It's gonna be incredibly crowded any day you visit this month, probably. I went on Wednesday, so that was before the Green Lantern rush, and the crowds were still terrible. So you'd probably lose some crowds since less people are able to make it on a weekday, but it'll still be bad.
  4. ^I'd imagine something to do with the bearings of the ride vehicle, or how tight the seats are screwed on. I know that you can make a skateboard wheel go faster if you buy better bearings, so that's one theory. Also, if you screw a wheel like a skateboard wheel on too tightly, it will spin less, so assuming doing something similar to that is possible for Green Lantern, that's another thing that they could do. Once again, those are both hypotheses, especially the bearing one, which is highly unlikely, so don't take my word for it.
  5. I checked the SFMM Facebook page, and people were talking about waiting 3.5 hours and having it break down when they got towards the front. I also read multiple posts about a 4 hour wait. Sounds like fun!
  6. Anyone have an idea of how long the line was today?
  7. Speaking of single rider lines...SFMM really needs to work on their policies. I went yesterday, and when my group got into the park, the lines were terrible. We figured we'd use the well advertised single rider line for Viper since we didn't care about being split up, so we walk up the line, and the attendant tells us to go back down. Even though there were multiple signs stating that there was a single rider line, they apparently wont let you use it (at least if it's a busy day).
  8. That Clinton Street Apartments building really blew me away.
  9. ^I have a few friends who are in a program like that, and have been for years. They all seem to love it, so maybe the one you're talking about is just an unfortunately bad program.
  10. ^Ah! How was Glen Hansard as an opener?
  11. ^I'm just split on deciding if he really has a message, or he's just trying to ramp up the songs' shock values. Because I feel like he's not a religious person, yet the only reason he insults religion so much is to offend many more people.
  12. I couldn't see how many people they had, but I'd wager that they were sending off cars with people most of the time once every 1 or 2 minutes (sometimes more) for an hour at least, and then running it with people sporadically throughout the day. I couldn't see how many people were actually there for the shoot, but I doubt that it was too many.
  13. I'm curious to know this, as well. I was there today and saw them filming the commercial. They had a cherry-picker with cameramen in it, and it was running for most of the day. Also, X2 still has no audio.
  14. Me on national T.V. Me on a rock. Me winning over the hearts of every girl in existence.
  15. Bury Us Alive-STRFKER (As electro as I can possibly go)
  16. ^I think you're interpreting it a little wrong. There are basically two sides to Odd Future: the side where you get offended, or the side where you're like, "F**k yeah, I can't believe he said that!" I get being on both of those sides, since what Tyler says is absolutely terrible even though he makes it very apparent that he means absolutely nothing he says (that's kind of his trademark). It's just weird how only the pro-Atheistic message bugged you. If you're offended by Tyler's music, shouldn't there be much more in his lyrics that you find offensive? Personally, I don't think his stuff ever has a pro-Atheistic stance, his lyrics are mainly about bringing down a wide variety of groups ; I think Christianity just happens to be one of the subjects that he touches on to increase the album's shock value.
  17. On Friday, I bought tickets to see Bon Iver in L.A. at the Shrine Auditorium in September. I'm already really excited.
  18. If anyone's interested, Amp radio is hosting a contest to ride Green Lantern early. You have to take some quiz about pop music, but most of the answers are easily Googled. You need to create an account for the site first, too. Link to the contest
  19. Is it wooden? Was it built by an American manufacturer?
  20. Was Gogol Bordello opening for them? I saw them at Coachella and LOVED them.
  21. I was at SFMM a week and a couple days ago, and saw them building a queue cover over the switchbacks like the ones Terminator and Riddler's have.
