  1. ^ SF is trying to recover from their debt. And obviously they looked at the cost and decided that 25 or 15 dollars is how much they need to charge to make a profit. No matter what the cost is, I am sure that someone will complain. You can't please everyone. The fact that they have seen an increase in attendance means that the majority of the population doesn't care about the price of parking. I am glad to see that SF is really trying to turn things around and it is showing. They aren't the big bad wolf that everyone keeps making them out to be. Disney charges A LOT for everything. Why doesn't anyone complain about Disney prices.
  2. ^ I want a free tractor!! Is it John Deere?
  3. ^ Is that considered a loose article? I don't believe bunnies are listed on the signage.
  4. ^ Yeah I like Medusa better. Even Bizzaro and that is the same 'exact' layout. I don't know Screams! numbers but I would guess that it does get a large number of riders. I think it is just a very efficient ride.
  5. Scream! is great in my opinion. I wouldn't say its an amazing coaster but its a very good solid coaster. And I think the parking lot doesn't really take away from the ride. Its not as though its themed to like a jungle and there is just a parking lot. I consider it a must ride because it is a long solid ride as well as there is rarely a long wait for it.
  6. So do you think the upper managment park people call him Marky?
  7. I think it also depends on the park. At some parks it is expected that a ride is themed VERY well. For instance if Disney built a ride over a parking lot many would immediately check to see if the shy is falling. However with Six Flags it is just noted. I personally would rather have an amazing ride with slight theming. Or eve better amazing ride and amazing theming. Just off of photos I have seen Manta looks like this kind of ride. The theming looks impeccable as well as the ride looks pretty kick a$$.
  8. I think Scream! looks great the way it is. I mean its not themed like Batman or Terminator. But I think it gives the ride character. It is in desperate need of a paint job but i'm sure thats in store for the near future.
  9. ^ Check the date that the post was made.
  10. ^ You were our host for the first pre show when we went on Saturday.
  11. Was at the exit ramp for Goliath at SFMM the other day and this lady asked the ride op: Looking at Flashpass Sign pointing down the stairs under the station Lady: Is this the way for Flashpass. Ride Op: Yes just head down the stairs and follow the path Lady: But what ride is it for?
  12. Does anyone know when this was done? I don't remember seeing it when I went on Saturday. But then again I might have just totally not noticed it while walking to Terminator. I really like it though. SFMM is doing a lot of small things to make the park look better. And it's really working out for them.
  13. ^ Whoa I think it might be little nice to resize those. I was finally able to ride in the last sector and I have to say that I personally liked the ride better in the back. The pops of airtime were definitely more apparent. Though not ejector airtime, still fun. I say this is a really solid coaster. Glad that Six Flags decided to go in this direction. The volume is still a little too low though. But that should be at the perfect volume soon.
  14. Those who rode the ride today. How was the volume on the ride? During Media day I heard it was ridiculously loud. And Saturday it was too quiet. Is it in a nice point now?
  15. ^ If SWSD got a Manta I think I would cry for days. It looks like a truly incredible ride. Quite flawless from the photos I've seen. But then again photos can be deceiving.
  16. I think they did a REALLY good on the preshow movies. The effects and editing are really good. But i've only been on one other preshow ride. The only I noticed was that some kids find the last room a little scary. Two were in each others arms at one point. But I think it helps to build anticipation for the ride.
  17. Awesome! Thanks Elissa. Can't wait for candy and fries. That was dinner for me tonight at the place my family decided to go to.
  18. ^Sadly i can't remember if I used to duck or not. I sure don't anymore. The palm tree outside of the entrance to the tunnel used to be too long and it would hit your hand. But its all trimmed not. Some people like fetal position duck though. haha Like big men that look like they could break you in half.
  19. ^ and they could even have a loop mode as well as a regular preshow movie mode depending on the length of the line. There aren't any doors i between the shows so it could just be LONG show tunnel.
  20. Are the 2010 trips pretty much set in stone? And the second questionnaire was more for trips beyond 2010. Sorry just REALLY interested in the UK trip plus Mini add on and wondering if its still in the air or if it is a definite trip. Thanks!!
  21. They do guide you through and when you get up to the station they tell you where to sit. However I imagine over time they will let you choose where you can sit. They would just rather distribute people while they get through a busy opening couple of months. And the row queues are super short so if everyone wanted the front it would make the station that much more cramped. So they do assigned seating. Sad. But makes sense.
  22. Lightning affects a coaster? I know its made out of steel and all but wouldn't it be grounded by a ground wire. And I would assume it would be a frequent target of lightning. But then again I am no engineer.
  23. Heard lots of funny things yesterday while on Goliath. But don't remember the majority of them. One thing i noticed is that A LOT of people duck their head on the tunnel on Goliath. As if the designers didn't think it through or something. And then at the end of ride some talk about how they almost hit their head. But I guess if it makes the ride more intense for people then thats a good thing. I also love it how people freak out about their restraint being loose when restraints haven't even been locked. As if they are going to dispatch the train without checking.
  24. I finally rode Terminator yesterday morning. I am going to save my real review until after Termination Day when I can ride in multiple spots and have more time to look at everything in greater detail. BUT, as my first impression I have to say amazing job SFMM. The theming is great! But consider making the concrete below the Jeep in the second switch back look a little dirtier. A muddy jeep over clean concrete is a little mismatch. Preshows are great and I love it how the workers are in character. (Great job William as our pre-show attendant.) I rode in the second row and I have to say that I got minimal airtime. That is why I am saving my final judgement. I want to try different rows with different train weights. I LOVE the tunnels and actually really like the fire. The pacing is amazing. And the music was a little too quiet is seems they adjusted it too much. But ALL of this will be worked out over time. Sadly was unable to hear the Take the Tunnel. Overall it is a really good solid ride. Wouldn't say it is amazing but definitely not a flop. Great coaster for SFMM's roster. Can't wait for Termination Day so that I can see more of this coaster. And hopefully I can get some back of train action.
  25. waiting in line right now for the front gate. will hopefully be one of the first people to ride Terminator. I'll post a review later tonight.
