  1. Hi there, my name is Bas and I'm from the Netherlands, Although I'm not a huge poster, I am a fanatic reader of this forum (most of the times offline though). Next November I'm cruising through California on a motorbike and I would love to visit at least one theme park. My co-biker is not a big theme park lover (gets nauseous in a merry go round) and wouldn't even like to visit any park with me. That's why I'm asking this rude question to you guys. Who would like to visit Six Flags Magic Mountain with me next November? I would love to introduce myself for the ones that are interested. My name is Bas de Jong, I'm 24 years old, I'm from a small island in the Netherlands called Schiermonnikoog, I've been a theme park enthusiast since I was 14 years old and I would love to visit SFMM wíth someone rather than alone, my intentions are clear, I want to ride at least Tatsu, X2, the Riddler, superman (drop tower and roller coaster), Goliath and apocalypse and for the rest I just want to have a great day. It would be great if the one (or ones) that want(s) to go with me knows the park, but that's not an obligation. I just want to have an awesome day on what may be the only chance that I have on going there. I may be posting this a bit early because I want to make sure that I won't stand there alone (having a fun crowd around me is just as important to me as the coasters itself). If you are interested, have any questions, want to know more about me, are falling in love with me, or just want to talk to me, you can post your comment in this thread or PM me. P.s. I'm a huge TPR noob, so if I posted this on the wrong spot feel free to remove, replace or delete it (which may be the same as removing, but I'm from Europe, so forgive me).
  2. I think this one has already been in this thread a couple of times, but I saw it this night and I thought it was really amazing.. So you know what I share it with you all.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ILhJs8BLcTQ
  3. Great update Robb, I was waiting for this one to come .. I would really love to go to Tokyo Disney Land.. But that won't happen the first 5 years I guess..
  4. One of the things I think is really bad is the fact that he park now contains 5 vertical loops, 2 in Led Zeppelin and 3 in the logo.. I really hope they will change the name in a year or so, to a name wich makes a lot more sense.. Something like uuuhm.. Anything but Freestyle music park ..
  5. ^^ That's really fun to hear, here in Holland the main muppets are Bert and Ernie.. And some Dutch figures like Mr. Aart, Frank, Rik, Pino (aka Big Bird) Tommie, Ieniemienie en Purk (Fun little pig, to teach children how to handle a baby brother or sister).. After them there are the 'American' muppets like Grover, Oscar, Elmo and all those other ones.. Zoë wasn't even on Dutch television till 2 or 3 years ago.. btw your signature in dutch is great ..
  6. Great to see this, I hopefully will be there in my North East America Trip 2010.. Quick Question: Looks like Elmo is favorite character in the USA, is that true? If it is, that would be funny to see, 'cause in Holland Elmo is just an extra..
  7. Thanks for that mates, but we're going to rent a car there, so I won't need any Shuttle bus service.. Thanks though..
  8. Next one is Toverland if I'm not mistaking, I'm looking forward to hearing what you think of one of my favorite parks in Holland .. Bobbejaanland is Great .. ®evolution is defenitly the best coaster in the park and before changing the theme it even was the best coaster off Belgium..
  9. Every park is reachable by public transport.. I can help you if you want, just PM me if you want to know how to come somewhere and I'll figure it out for you.. Parks to do are: Walibi World (Goliath), Toverland (Troy), Efteling (Overall atmosphere), Drievliet (Formule X), Duinrell (when they get their Gerstlauer) In Germany: Phantasialand (Black Mamba, Winja's) Europapark (Overall Atmosphere)
  10. That's the problem with all Walibi parks, even the one with "Good Goliath".. The parks are run by Companie des Alpes, wich is a keeper of ski-resorts, that's probably why they bought Vertigo, 'cause it was built by a Ski-lift manufacturer.. They never insert any money in one of their parks, they only take things out of there, like the Boomerang in Walibi World.. The only thing they "bought" for Walibi Belgium is Vertigo, wich appears to be a present, for being a prototype..
  11. Well.. Thanks for all your tips 'nd tricks and there will be a huge TR of my days in Orlando by the month of may .. Looking forward to it!!
  12. Wow, Universals ticketwebsite recently changed big time.. I'm sure I watched it like 5 days ago and then there was a ticket with entrance to both of the parks and unlimited flash pass use.. I even have the link in an email I sent to my mom, but now I can't find it anywhere on the site.. This one
  13. Thanks for your reply, actually, we chose SeaWorld for my co-traveller (My mother), who's not into coasters and stuff, so she had something to do too, so I think I will be there all day.. Thanks for your tip about the on-property stay at Universal Resort, but will it have the same effect if I buy an Express Plus card? Or will that be way more expensive?
  14. 3th of May, I'm going to visit Orlando for the first time in my life.. We only have time for 3 days of parks and I already decided wich parks they're going to be: Busch Gardens Tampa, SeaWorld Orlando and Universal Studios Florida. My question(s) Am i able to do US and USIoA in one day? What period won't it be to crowded in "My chosen parks"? Will I be a fool if I visit SeaWorld 3 weeks before opening of Manta?
  15. A tie between Black Mamba and Winja's Fear in Phantasialand (Germany)..
  16. Damn, I´m jealous to see how people have Cedar Point on a 2 hour drive, and SFMM down the street, my homepark, before I isolated myself on an Island, used to be Walibi World, but I mostly visit Phantasialand, Brühl, with the amazing Black Mamba, and the fantastic Winja´s..
  17. I'm very exited about this thread, I just discovered it today and I was surprised about all the opinions wich were very diverse.. I think it's going to be a Coaster with the car on top of it, so no flyer and no inverted, but because we know nothing about it, I personally think it's going to be a prototype of a total new concept.. I hope things will get clearer soon, cause I'm really very exited..
  18. So.. Turns out to be that I'll be riding it for the first and last time soon.. I don't know how I feel, I mean it sure ain't smooth as baby bottom, but it IS the coaster that made AT wat it is now.. And although you guys don't think so.. I think Vekoma's are kick ass.. I know they are rough, but they also are a lot of fun.. All of them .. So I get that it has to leave, but I also think it's a shame..
  19. Well I've been to Movie Park Germany lately and they have an (Intamin) drop tower out there.. But because it not being so busy the ride ops only ran one half of the tower, so it wasn't balanced out at all.. Every weight was to one side..
  20. Well.. How about me introducing .. My name is Bas.. Pronounce as you all pronounce the word Bass (not so hard after all).. I am 18 years old and I live on a very small island in Holland called Schiermonnikoog.. Not going to tell you how to pronounce that.. I've been a coaster enthousiast since the year 2000, it was the year that Six Flags landed in Europe.. I got VIP tickets to the Grand Opening of Six Flags Holland (Now Wobbly World ) and was very afraid to ride Superman: The Ride.. After thinking for an hour and looking about 100 laps f it.. I descided to just go.. And I really loved it.. After a while I descided to ride La Via Volta (Just a standard Vekoma Boomerang) and I also loved that one.. From then on I was loving coasters.. The park I love best is Phantasialand.. In April I'm finally going to visit the US.. Just one park, but really one of the best, I guess.. I'm going to vistit Cedar Point and I'm really looking forward to it.. Later on.. When I'm allowed to rent a car in your country full of unnecessary rules, I planned to do an entire USA trip with some of my friends.. Planning to visit SF Great Adventure, Cedar Point, Holiday World, King's Island, Hersheypark, Busch Gardens Europa, SeaWorld Orlando, Universal Studios Orlando, Busch Gardens Africa, SF Over Texas and SF Magic Mountain.. Well I think you know a lot about me now..Remains to tell you that I really love your trips and when I collected enough money I might even once take part on one of your (probalbly) Asian trips.. With Love Bas!!
