I recently found out an add for an Intamin 12 invertion coaster (on the picture), but I couldn't find any further information about it. It happens that some parks in Brazil announced new coasters for 2012, but didn't give details. There are rummors of a new Intamin Coaster supposed to "something never seen before in Latin America" at Hopi Hari (not confirmed by the park). At first we all thought it would be an accelerator coaster, but now I wonder if it isn't a 12- inversion. A coaster was seen been unloaded from a ship in Santos Seaport last month (Santos is the nearest seaport to São Paulo, where Hopi Hari is). My point is: does anybody know any information about this 12 inversion coaster? Is it planned to a specific park? Since I haven't found any threads about Intamin in general, I created one.

nice TR! I can imagine why the audience cheered o loudly. lots of brazilians go to Orlando every vacation. We're down here, waiting for Sea World to open a Park in São Paulo or Rio... smile Maybe than we can ride a B&M withou leaving the country... -
Montezum can be very different depending on which train you ride. One of them (I don't remember what color) is pretty smooth, making it a great ride. The other one shakes too much and makes it look more like Rolling Thunder. Still it is a very good coaster, specially if you come on halloween, when they switch one of the trains so you can ride backwards, if you want to. Evolution is very nice, but they run it in a too short cycle. Two very fun things to do at Hopi Hari: riding their zip-line across the lake and flying on the sky coaster above the same lake.

Hopi Hari is a very good park. They recently signed a contract with Time Warner and anounced a 60 million USD renovation including 4 new rides and re-theming of some areas to include the characters from Justice League, Looney Toones and Penelope Pitstop. The renovation will start in october and the park will anounce soon which are gonna be the new rides. There are talks about a new coaster - and we, brazilians, are really hoping it`s true. Lucas, congratulations on the photos. really cool.

I've been to Key West when I was 13 and traveled to US to visit Orlando. It really impressed me how "inside a movie" the town looked like. Cool TR. Hope I can come back there some day. regards, Lucaz -

Hi Elissa, don't worry, I just wasn't familiar with the term, but I understand it now. I'm cool with it. Still waiting TPR to come down here. Hopefully I'll make it to US by may or june this year and I'll contact TPR to see if anyone would go with me to Cedar Point. Unfortunately I won't be able to go in august like Felix or Guilherme (wich makes me very jealous). Thanks for the concern. regards, Lucaz -

^sorry I missunderstood it. That makes a lot more sense now. It's not a prejudment, which makes me glad. I know how brazilian teenagers behave in parks. I heard once they threw a Mickey in EPCOT's lake. By the way, I'm sorry about this attitude, not all of us are like that. Hopefully we'll learn how to behave someday..smile Still, my invitation is sincere. Whenever you come to Brazil, contact me, and I'll be very happy to show you around. If you wanna see pics of Brazilian parks, check my club's website: http://www.cbmr.com.br Once again, sorry for the missunderstanding. Regards, Lucaz -

I was really enjoying the report, untill you say: "A cool bath if you're bird. Or Brazilian." I mean, I enjoyed the whole report, but I didn't understand the joke and I must confess, I felt kinda offended. You see, I am brazilian, but I don't bath in fontains, specially in a jungle environment. I don't know if you've ever been to Brazil, but it's a lot different down here than that scenery on the picture. Please don't take it bad, I had to say how I felt. And if you wanna check out how Brazil looks like, I'll be glad to show you around in Rio, where I live, and take you to visit our parks and ride our coasters. Seriously. All the best, Lucaz -
Beto Carrero World Videos
lucazferrazCBMR posted a topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Hello TPR! These videos were made by a friend of mine who works at our biggest theme park, Beto Carrero World. The first one just shows him riding his electric skate through the park while it was closed. You can see some of the coasters and the free-fall towers, plus, the park itself: This is a POV at Big Tower, a 300ft Intamin Giant Drop: Here we have the park's SLC, FireWhip, at sunset, really cool: And here we can watch an onride video at Star Mountain, a Vekoma Corkscrew with Bayern Curve: Hope you like the videos. Best regards! Lucaz -

TPR gotta visit Parque Marisa, when you come to Brazil. I'm pretty sure there has never been such a tidy and clean park in the world. I'm serious: They clean the coaster fence using toothbrushes, for Christ sake!! The floor on the rides sparkle! You gotta see that with your own eyes! -
Firewhip video montage
lucazferrazCBMR replied to guirehbein's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^True. That Ferris wheel is very good looking. I used to operate at the extinct Tivoli Park, in Rio de Janeiro, but it didn't have hats by that time, just regular roofs... -
Firewhip video montage
lucazferrazCBMR replied to guirehbein's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The coaster came from Japan, where they have very weird standards for coasters. In sitdown coasters they have catwalks all along the track and in Inverted coasters they have it going for one third of the first drop, I think... The park has, indeed, both an old-gen free-fall and a 300ft giant drop. The rapids were home-designed and built except for the boats that were bought from Hafema. Pretty cool park that offers circus, zoo and rides at the same place and is also surrounded by really cool beaches. If you ever visit, bring your surfboards! -

^^ what's a Wisconsin dell? About the old free-fall: I talked to park's operation manager and said: "please, never take this ride down!" And he said: "We'd never! On the opposite way: we have plans to re-theme it." So, good news for old intamin fans! -

The parks is indeed very great looking and very well maintained (is this how this word is spelled?). Beto Carrero was really a genius. He was born very poor and built a fortune by creating advertises and later by investing on TV Shows. He supported the park with his own money for about a decade until the park had enough profit to run on its own. And the park supports the city where it is, maintaining roads and a social institute that gives education to poor children and jobs for poor people that live nearby. He died one year ago and his funeral was followed by 8 thousand people in a rainy day. Yes, that logo means CBMR - Clube Brasileiro de Montanhas Russas, which is the Portuguese for "Brasilian Coaster Club". I hope to see TPR around here soon! It will be a huge pleasure to show you our parks!! Lucaz -

Playcenter is really a very nice park. I really want to be there when TPR pays a visit! The old dark ride was the Monster House. like a ghost train, but with suspended seats. Really cool. The park is really modern, clean and colorful. The Brazilian Coaster Club will have 2009's annual meeting in São Paulo and Playcenter is one of the parks we'll visit. If anyone wanna join us, we'll be there in early july. -

Elissa, That'll be a pleasure to help! Perhaps we could gather both TPR and CBMR on this South America Trip, if you don't mind... About the 1st gen free-falls: nice to know that there are others still operating! About the SLCs theming: Really cool those three, specially Infusion. But still think Firewhip looks better..smile Any TPR member who comes to Brazil, please, contact me: lucaz@cbmr.com.br and we can go together to some parks! Best regards! -

Hi, TPR! I'm Lucaz Ferraz, CBMR founder. Marcio is one of the most important members we have, without him, it would be impossible to run the Club. I'm glad you liked the TR, Marcio did really an awesome job! I believe BCW's 1st gen is the last of it's kind. But don't worry: the park has no plans to shut it down! People love it! About FireWhip: the restraints are not the new ones, but the sidewheels are very well regulated, so it doesn't shake as much as the 'mind erasers', if you now what I mean. Tigor is perfectly smooth, but I think it's due to the kind of track. And Star Mountain is almost not a Vekoma...lol Seriously, it doesn't shake at all, I don't know how they did that... About TPR in Brazil, I really think you should organize a trip to South America. Check the parks you could visit: In Brasil: Beto Carrero World (4 coasters) Hopi Hari (4 coasters) Playcenter (5 coasters) Terra Encantada (3 coasters) Mirabilandia (3 coasters) Walter World (2 coasters) Acqualokos (1 home-made hybrid coaster) Nicolandia (4 coasters, including one queen-bee) And many other one-coaster small parks In Argentina: Parque de La Costa (3 coasters, including 1 SLC) many small one-coaster parks In Chile: Fantasilandia (5 coasters, including 1 SLC) Colombia: Camelot Park (1 very interesting coaster in a very cute park) Salitre Magico (4 coasters including a Schwarzkopf Jet Star 3) Parque Nacional del Cafe (1 Schwarzkopf Extended Jumbo Jet) Venezuela: Diverland (1 coaster. The park is in Isla Margarita). You could do all that in 10 days, if running just for credits.. smile You should really consider! Happy 2009! Lucaz -
