  1. Ummm, WOW. That thing is freaking crazy-tall! Looks awesome, but I have to admit that thing would probably make me a smidge nervous!! Looking forward to seeing it test. I've still not had a chance to ride one of these "star flyer" type swing rides, but I'm 100% positive I would find them more thrilling than the Windseekers.
  2. Well, I ended up emailing Kara at GKTW with an idea I had. I remember last year as the top fundraiser at Dorney I received an awesome VIP tour from the park. And as great/fun as that trip was, I felt like I wanted to do something extra this year, if I was lucky enough to be one of the top fundraisers again. I realize the details haven't been released for Dorney yet, but I would assume the prizes would be similar. So, I asked her if it would be possible to donate any ticket/tour prize to a local (Dorney area) child in need, such as a local Make-a-Wish kid. Much to my delight, Kara replied that it would definitely be a possibility, and that she'd help out wherever she could! She even added that if we went through GKTW, she might be able to look for a family that has stayed at GKTW!! I'm even more excited to push my fundraising as far as I possibly can, because I would absolutely LOVE to be able to do this! I think it would be the perfect thing to do that captures the theme of why we're all working so hard to help out this cause! But there's still a lot of work left to do, so I'm going to try and get creative to maximize my donations. And of course, I probably jinxed myself by sending that email, as I noticed a huge surge by the person in 2nd place. (Although, that's fine with me because that means more money is going to the cause!) So anyway, if anyone feels the need to throw a few bucks my way to hopefully help a kid in need enjoy a day at Dorney, I would greatly appreciate it! Keep up the awesome work, Team TPR!!
  3. ^^^ Glad to see you back on the team, Jason! Also, awesome to hear that you've raised a lot of money for the cause already! Although, I guess that's not too surprising considering the awesome support you received last year. If my memory serves me, you were the overall top fundraiser at any of the parks, and you raised over $4k!! Definitely fantastic news that Team TPR has you on board again this year! Good luck!
  4. $5 donated, and happy to help jump start another fine member of Team TPR!! Good luck meeting your goal, Adam!
  5. ^ Good luck! Hopefully they approve it for you and the donations will start rolling in! Team TPR at Dorney is now up to $3,807 raised!! Can we hit $4,000?? You bet we can! And kudos to all Team TPR riders on going over $14k raised! Awesome stuff, everyone! GO Team TPR!!
  6. Gatekeeper looks really great! I am loving that keyhole element even more seeing the actual train gliding through there! Looking forward to eventually seeing a video of it testing. Can't wait until May 9th!
  7. Wow, this has been a long day apparently! I don't know where I thought I saw a place asking for a membership number, because you're right, they only ask for which club! Sorry for the confusion with that previous dumb post on my part! Time to go home.....and then join Club TPR! Incidentally, I think this is a pretty awesome gesture by Cedar Point! I've always wondered what a media day was like.....looks like I'll get to find out in May!!
  8. I have a quick question, if I join Club TPR, do I get my membership number at that time? Just curious if I would need to wait for my actual membership card to arrive to sign up for the Gatekeeper Media Day. After all, TPR is my favorite website by FAR, so I'd say it's about time I join the Club and support this awesome site!
  9. ^ They list Club TPR as the 2nd one on the list of clubs.....
  10. Team Theme Park Review Great times had and money raised We're Coasting For Kids!
  11. ^^ Haha, nice! You beat me to it.....that's the same picture I found to post. You really can't go wrong with Pope Sloth!! Pope Sid??
  12. ^ Welcome aboard! Always great to add more fine TPR folks to the team!! Looking forward to meeting the new faces (and seeing great friends again! *cough* Nicole *cough* Chris *cough* Derek? ) that day!
  13. ^ Wow, that is awesome stuff right there! Tremendous work by everyone across the board on the TPR Teams!! So, our TPR Team at Dorney is sitting at $2,988......only 12 bucks from another milestone of $3,000 raised!! Great job, Dorney team! Anybody feel like bumping our team up over $3k??
  14. Wow, now that's a tough one!! Without a doubt I think that BOTH coasters look crazy awesome, but for me the slightest of edges goes to Outlaw Run. That layout looks amazing to me, and the setting looks great too. Not that the cliff diving Iron Rattler is some slouch, mind you.....
  15. Yep, true story there! Last year we went with another couple, and we had to go on a weekend as well (Fri. night - Sunday). We gave the Fast Lane a go on Saturday, and we loved it so much we happily ponied up the dough and got it again on Sunday!
  16. Well, when you're like me and your wife has a paltry amount of vacation that's reserved for medical crap, then weekends are your only option to go and ride GateKeeper. Just sayin' But the thing is, if we want to ride a lot, we have no problem justifying the extra cost to get a FL (or, now, possibly a FL+). Totally worth every penny to make the day at the park the most enjoyable that it can be! And I have no problem with them pricing it higher to further limit the amount of people with them. Makes it that much better if you get one!!
  17. ^^ Donation made, Chuck! Have to support another Team TPR member, especially one that keeps me very up to date on my favorite park I've been to! (BGW) And I know I got pretty excited the other day, but I couldn't help it when I strolled by your page and saw that donation! Then when you said it was an error, it made me wonder what the person who donated thought when they saw the message later! Good luck the rest of the way with your fundraising, sir!
  18. Don't tempt me, Nicole.....you do realize it would take very little convincing, right?? Robb and Chad, thank you for the tremendous coverage! The videos, the stunning pics,......I just am speechless. I can't think of a coaster in recent memory that I've wanted to ride THIS badly!! Outlaw Run just looks spectacular, period. And that off-ride footage really shows off the blazing pace as it tears through the course! So. Much. AWESOME!! Now back to thinking about how in the world I can manage a trip to Branson.......
  19. First off, a big thanks to Robb for the awesome coverage today from media day, including that stellar POV video!! THANK YOU!! After watching that POV (twice already, haha), I have to say that Outlaw Run looks incredible! The speed/pace that it flies through the course with looks nuts! I'm seriously drooling here. And there's so much packed into the ride - killer first drop, overbanks, inversions, blazing speed, and airtime!! It's going to take everything for me to not just hop in my car and start driving there tonight. This is now my #1 MUST ride coaster, period. Kudos to Silver Dollar City and RMC!!
  20. I hear the new Pope has a world's first triple-barrel roll! Never before seen on a pope! As for Outlaw Run, I just saw the little video preview Robb posted on the Facebook page and I nearly wet myself! If you haven't seen it yet, go check it out!! This ride looks unbelievable, and I cannot wait to see the official POV from Robb! And seeing his tweet of his initial impression has me even more stoked about this thing. I feel like I just HAVE to find some way to get to Branson this year!!
  21. Yep, we sure did!! As of a couple minutes ago, Team TPR has now raised an amazing $10,074!!! WOW!! Congrats to everyone involved with Team TPR at the different parks! Just think of what we can do before June! GO TEAM TPR!!!
  22. What an awesome idea, Scott!! Very creative, and I think you're right that some people seem embarrassed to donate a dollar. When, in reality, every little bit helps add to the total to help these kids! Making a donation as we speak!
  23. I am really liking the look of this expansion! White Lightning looks like it should be an awesome mid-sized woodie, and the layout looks pretty sweet. Freedom Flyer should be a fun smaller coaster too, and I like the look of it - the colors are nice and vibrant! Kudos to Fun Spot on growing and developing into a neat little park stop for those heading towards Orlando.
