The Great Escape (TGE) Discussion Thread
Jcoaster replied to Red Benny's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Canyon Blaster was pretty lame as far as Mine Trains are concerned. The Comet though is one of the best wooden coasters i've ever been on. It' airtime is insane. I would love to see a solid new coaster to form a 1-2 punch for the park. -

The park doesn't even need a massive coaster. Just a solid one that will draw people from surrounding areas. A new custom steel coaster of any sort would be great. Whatever happened to that SLC they had in storage? -

Those who are asking why Six Flags would build two coasters in two consecutive years, the spinning wild mouse was a hand-me-down. This would be the parks first totally new coaster in over 10 years. What it could be? I'm not sure i'm stumped seeing Six Flag's recent relations with Gerlauster. -

Going to throw in my 2 cents. Great addition for the park, it will spike attendance and bring in plenty of GP. As for as it goes for me as an enthusiast Yawn another nonchalant B&M effort. Would I ride it? Hell yes. Do I think its going to be a top 10 coaster? Hell no. -
I accompanied Genx24 to the park yesterday and I didn't find this park to be the least bit terrible. The only thing that bothered me yesterday were the operations. Holy Hell were they slow. Now for the rides; ThunderBolt - I could understand why it is an ACE classic being the parks original coaster, but really just meh. I've been spoiled by other old woodies Comet (Hershey Park), Comet (Great Escape) and the Coney Island Cyclone. 5/10 Goliath - I've only heard good things about Goliath when it is up and running. Now I understand, holy S*** dude! This thing was terrifying from the minute it started to the minute it ended. Vekoma did a good job here in my opinion the ride looks and sounds intimidating with a great ride to match. I rode with my head back and experienced no head banging. 9/10 Batman The Dark Knight - As far as floor less coasters go "meh". I preferred the other three I've been on (Dominator, Bizzaro and Hydra) to it easily. Layout is good but short. 6/10 After out ride on Batman we headed over to JB's Smokehouse. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised with the food. Best food I've ever had at a Six Flags park. I ate everyones coleslaw. Bizzaro - The main event. I was waiting for this all day because it was my 100th credit . I've heard so much about this ride and it delivered on all fronts. It was everything everyone said it would be. I preferred the back row to the front, it provided a bit more ejector air for me. Thank you Intamin. 10/10 Gotham City Gauntlet - Screamed so hard on this with my buds the ride operator asked how bad it was cause it was a kid ride. We promptly told her "You must have never ridden that beast." Better than the Wild Mouse in a box at Great Adventure. 5/10 CatWoman's Whip - Catwoman is hot. 3/10 Mind Eraser - Your standard Vekoma SLC. I didn't get that beat up. "That" beat up. It is still an intense ride. 6/10 Pandemonium - I've never been on a spinning coaster but I must say I was belly laughing the entire time. So enjoyable, it makes me even more excited for "Laff Tack" and Hershey next year. 7/10 Blizzard River - Better than our closest rapids "Congo Rapids" by a country mile which is saying a lot since i'm from NYC. 7/10 Overall it was a pleasant day like I said. Was it the best park? Absolutely not. But it was clean and had Bizzaro.

I wouldn't mind all the small improvements like mentioned before (Ka's restraints, Zum/Ka running together). Although I still believe a water coaster would be perfect for the park these days. If we get nothing medium-major sized this year NEXT YEAR HAS TO BE IT. I know we're spoiled at this park but i'm losing my patience anyway.

Hersheypark (HP) Discussion Thread

Reese's Xtreme Cup Challenge I didn't really find it all that half assed. Is is it Disney or Universal quality? No, but for a park outside of those two it is a decent dark ride. -

^ Thank you. Can everyone just shut up for a minute? Hershey never half asses anything. This is going to be a great addition, next year when some of you ride it you'll probably be eating your words. It's a solid new roller coaster addition, can we just enjoy it? -
Many people do underestimate the size of that land between Ka and Toro. Like Robb said look at parks like Blackpool and even Hershey. They've mastered fitting huge things into tiny spaces. I can't see Old Country coming back anytime soon although it would be nice. Thats all employee stuff back by Old Country now and I think they are happy with it being like that for the time being.

Well it is assumed most likely if they did put in a spinner that the current Wild Mouse would probably be removed for boardwalk expansion. That atleast makes sense to me. ^ Bingo
