  1. Take them the Ocean City the rides are a lot better than Point Pleasant. I don't recall any good spin and puke rides at Point Pleasant.
  2. Interesting since the following was in the press release: To create an even better ride experience, Superman™ The Ride will offer Super Hero music and theming throughout this epic coaster. I guess they will install monster speakers all around the ride. As long as the ride ops don't start going Whoop Whoop on every dispatch.
  3. You are correct the area has been dying since the removal of the Teepee.
  4. Thanks, I was able to confirm some of the ones I did not know about previously, do you have confirmation (links to articles or websites) for the following RCDB stills shows Shanghai Disneyland, IMG, Wanda Hefei, Wanda Xinjian and Ferrari World's Missions Ferrari with 2015 openings, these remaining parks below I'll check if someone has posted links on TPR yet
  5. Since you mention that, as they're retheming SFNE's Bizarro back to Superman, do you think it's likely that they'll follow suit at GAdv and take it back to Medusa this season? I see no reason to do it at SFGAdv. It makes sense at SFNE because of the S:ROS heritage. Even though the old restraints won't come back, most of the GP don't remember their rides from ten years ago. Teenagers will never have even ridden in the original cars. They will just see that S:ROS (former #1 coaster in the world) is back.
  6. I forgot about that move, thanks.
  7. I don't know who these people are and I don't remember people clamoring for a wing coaster. I've ridden Gatekeeper which some have said is one of the better wing coasters, I've also ridden Wild Eagle. I liked Gatekeeper but SFFT's Batman is a much more exciting and fun ride.
  8. Maybe a boat shuttle to the park?
  9. It is not maddening unless you read the comments people make about the additions.
  10. The best financial advice I ever got. "If it sounds too good to be true, it is too good to be true"
  11. Not every ride can be a people eater. The largest capacity rides cost the most money. Any new ride evens out the crowds throughout the park. Let's hypothetically assume that the park built another ride with Nitro's capacity. The fact that more people can ride it per hour doesn't necessarily shorten the other lines for the whole day, because riders are in and out of the queue and off the ride quicker and back on another line. I never get caught up in ride names unless it is the same name used for two parks in close proximity. Some will love the name, some will hate it and as long as people are saying the name Six Flags is happy. The lakefront has been invisible for lack of a better term for years. Everyone has a thought on how space can best be used. I would have loved to see it became a boardwalk type area with games and shops, but they already have a boardwalk area. I do know that the area will be better utilized in 2106 than the past 10-15 years. I agree about the appearance of disjointed plans, however I think that is due to the size of the park and the park aging and the proactive planning to change the Safari and the Golden Kingdom animal shows. There are too many areas in the park that need fixing to be addressed immediately. I think the short terms necessities create delays in the long term initiatives. People rave about Chiller (and I loved Chiller), but 50% of the ride went 7 years unused and the other half was frequently closed. I'm sure the park would have loved to have gotten 5 more years out of the ride but couldn't. The park was offered a unique B&M (to the GP of the park) as an Arrow was at the end of its life cycle, you take that upgrade any day (Green Lantern has a line every day). People complained about the loss of all the flats, and now that the park is replacing them, people still complain. The only issue I have had with an addition in the past ten years was the Bizarro conversion. I understand why they did it (to maximize the IP agreement) but it was done half-ass and should not have been a key addition for an off-season. The only given I see over the next few years is a Justice League: Battle for Metropolis, but there are other issues to be addressed. John Fitzgerald has repeated stated the baboons will return somewhere, what happens to the Old Country area, Stunt Show Arena, I expect something else by the lake in the future. There are always too many issues to address at the park in one calendar year, but the past 10 years at the park have been a huge improvement over the prior twenty years.
  12. Only last for 2 seasons? What the hell are you talking about? I'm beyond excited to see an innovative dark ride come to the park. The location might not fit, but it's a step in the right direction creative wise for Six Flags. Zach - didn't you know that all interactive dark rides have a life expectancy of only 2 years?
  13. Thanks for the reminders, it's not easier pulling this thread together.
  14. So what we are really saying is the Larson Fireball is the first looping coaster, because that is a real closed loop.
  15. But it will be such low capacity. I'm excited for both and as some rational people have stated, it is great that those of us living in the area have so many choices. Maybe American Dream will finally open in 2017 as another option.
  16. NO, THIS IS NEVER OK. IT IS THE SIGN OF SEVERE PROBLEMS. But at least, we are tolerated here most of the time.
  17. If you are a smart enthusiast you know the rules. Get to the park at open Go the the park on slow days Get on the rides that you are concerned about because of capacity, long lines or breakdowns early in the day Therefore, I will continue to get to SFGAdv park at opening, on slower days and ride Total Mayhem first. I actually just bought my Gold pass during the Flash Sale (first time I recall that parking at other SF parks is being included without an upcharge), I even added the Gold Dining Pass for the first time.
  18. Just like we did for 2011 - 2015 this thread will serve as a place to house a list of "what's new" for 2016 at major parks and links to the announcements. We encourage you to notify us of any new rides/coasters by posting in this thread. Discussions about individual rides and parks should continue in the appropriate discussion thread through the links in this thread. Rumors will not be included. 19. You are getting a ride that is a lot of fun.
  20. And not one regular at SFStL rode Thunderbird before Evel Knievel opened.
  21. I believe the acreage include a lot of Lake Shafer
  22. Second to last row, I never wait more than one extra train for the last row.
  23. Since I see the J/K I'm assuming you realize German Potato Salad doesn't have mayo (some people don't know this) Yes, Kreuz Market was very Soup Nazi-esque. But they didn't ban me. They couldn't send me to the back of the line, since I was the only on the line 10 minutes before closing. But I loved this place. The stench of BBQ smoke oozes from the walls. I used to think BBQ just meant cooking something on a grill, unfortunately that is BBQ to some people. I like BBQ/brisket but there were times I though I would be ill. I started cutting out the sides, the bread, the sweet tea, breakfast just so I would have room and not be sick. I actually saved the sausage from Black's for breakfast the next morning. If I ever do a trip like this again in the also, it will be strictly Mexican, since you can't get the stuff in New York either.
  24. I do have a problem with pizza only not being an option, even though I would never eat Six Flags pizza. But that's because sales of french fries (like soda) have such high profit margins.
  25. I really, really liked Justice League, but I'll pick Wicked Cyclone.
