Funny you should post this. Today I discovered a Stacker game at my local mall. It was a a lot of fun and I got up to the Major Prize line almost every round. Put $7 into it before I noticed the "skipping" and realized it was rigged. I'll still put a buck or two in one if I see them anywhere, but I'll have to not let myself burn through more than a few dollars.

Millennium Force Cable
VGplay replied to CPmaverick's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I was at Cedar Point today and there were two cranes parked by Millennium Force. One was lifted to about the point the lift mechanism stops on the drop. As I was driving in, a giant (oversized load) crane was heading out of the park. The catch car is no longer hanging from the track. Hopefully the repairs don't take too long. Even with 16 other coasters, it felt like the park was missing its star attraction (and it was). -

I just got off Diamondback. To be honest, I found the ride fairly "meh". I don't mean I didn't find it to be a great ride, but it was my first B&M hyper and its floater airtime didn't do much for me. I'll see after I get a front seat ride later. I got in line across the pond from the station. It was just over 2 hours. So the wait isn't bad at all. -
Ordered Coasters in the RAW 3. I'm really looking forward to it. Robb, any chance you have a flyer for Coasters in the RAW 3 to print out? Geauga Lake Today is holding an event about Geauga Lake's Big Dipper next week that I plan on attending, and with Big Dipper and The Villain both on the DVD, I am sure more than a few people would be interested in ordering a copy.

How many annual passes do you have?
VGplay replied to Electerik's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
This Year: Cedar Fair Platinum Pass (Cedar Point) Six Flags (Either Great Escape or Six Flags New England) In the Past: Geauga Lake (1999) Sea World Ohio (1998) -
I'll agree with Hersheypark on Monday. I went last year on June 9th and the park was absolutely dead. Everything was a walk on except Storm Runner and Fahrenheit, which were both about a 10 minute wait.

Temperatures dipped into the low 20s last night, so it was probably to prevent it from freezing. -
This is definitely one of my favorite pictures that I've taken. Ravine Flayer II and Presque Isle on Labor Day.

Undocumented/forgotten coasters
VGplay replied to Kennyweird's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
There was a park called High Bridge Park in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. It had a very early and primitive coaster during the late 1800s. Here's the patent drawing for it. Somewhere I have a picture of the fire map from the city that shows it in the park, but no pictures of the coaster itself. I'll have to take a look. www.summitmemory.org/cdm4... -
I should be having a lot going on coaster-wise next summer. 1. Riding Diamondback on opening day. 2. Riding Ravine Flyer II again! 3. Going on some sort of East Coast trip. Still figuring how big of a trip it will be, but it will be a week at the least. 4. Going to Kings Dominion, Busch Gardens Europe, Dollywood, Lake Winnie, Beech Bend, and Holiday World with my family. 5. A few day trip with my brother to Six Flags Great America with stops at Fun Spot, Indiana Beach, Michigan's Adventure, and Cedar Point. I may even try and swing an extra day to the Wisconsin Dells.

Mitch Hawker's Wood & Steel Coaster Poll 2008
VGplay replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Where'd you hear this? I didn't find the ride all that much rougher on the last day of the season then it was on opening day. Just curious. Thanks for the link to the CoasterFanatics helper. Just did my wood coaster ballot and will do my steel ballot soon. -
Theme Park Review's 2009 Trips Announced!

I'm going to have to do the math, but I'm thinking hard about the Deep South/Texas trip. I'll probably make the deposit soon. -
What Was The Last Coaster You Rode?

Last public train of the season on Ravine Flyer II. -
Thank you for the comments everyone. A few of the parks will be mostly for the credits. Great Escape, Funtown, Six Flags New England, Clementon, Adventureland, and Mall of America stick out just looking at the list. A day of rest instead of Busch might be a good idea because that would be at the end of the busy northeast leg.

After I graduate next year, I want to go on a big amusement park trip. How big really depends on a few things but right now I want to go on a three week trip that covers almost 5,000 miles in the eastern part of the country. I've been talking with a few friends and they would be interested in something that big, but before any real planning starts I'd like advice. I live in Akron, Ohio and my Grand Prix gets about 30mpg on the highway. I put about $75 of gas into it to get to Hershey to Pittsburgh and back (I say $75 because before I left I used $50 to top off, but when I got home had over three quarters of a tank left). My school's graduation is May 31st. We would leave a day or two after that. Here's my plan: Day One (6-3-09): Conneaut Lake* Waldameer Darien Lake Day Two: Seabreeze Sylvan Beach Day Three: Great Escape Drive Day Four: Funtown Splashtown USA Canobie Lake Day Five: Six Flags New England Lake Compunce Day Six: Six Flags Great Adventure Day Seven: Clementon Park Dorney Park Day Eight: Knoebels Day Nine: Hersheypark Day Ten: Six Flags America Day Eleven: Kings Dominion Day Twelve?: Busch Gardens Europe Day Twelve: Drive Camden Park Day Thirteen: Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom Day Fourteen: Holiday World Day Fifteen: Six Flags St. Louis Day Sixteen: Silver Dollar City Celebration City Day Seventeen: Worlds of Fun Day Eighteen: Adventureland Arnold's Park Day Nineteen: Mall of America Valleyfair Day Twenty: Mt. Olympus Theme Park Adventure Falls Day Twenty One: Six Flags Great America Day Twenty Two Indiana Beach Day Twenty Three: Michigan's Adventure Day Twenty Four: Cedar Point Home About the question mark for Busch, I'm going to leave it to my friends to decide if they want to go or not. After this trip I'm going on a trip with my family that includes the park, so it doesn't matter to me. And if we do go, would it be better to add the extra day at the beginning and end up going to Six Flags New England and Lake Compounce on a Saturday, or on the end and go to Worlds of Fun and Cedar Point on Saturdays (Cedar Point isn't too big of a deal, living so close). I would like to spend the whole day at parks when possible, so for most days I would try and find lodging within an hour of the park. We'd do a combination of camping and hotels. Camping most of the time, when available, and hotels when affordable and as breaks after long days. I think the longest day is the one in Iowa. A three hour drive to Adventureland and a four hour drive from there to Arnold's Park. But other than that I don't see any long hauls where we'd be doing a lot in one day. And is Clementon worth an hour or two stop for HellCat? Without it we'd have a full day at Dorney and we wouldn't have to drive through Philadelphia. Any advice is welcome. I think this would be an awesome trip but it might not be feasible, I don't know. Thank you.

I went to Opryland sometime in the mid 90s with my family. I was too young to remember anything, but my parents say they liked the park. It looked like a great small park. We probably have some pictures, I'll see if there's anything worth sharing.
